looking as they call this incident embarrassing. in this humiliating video gone viral a tourist is beaten, robbed and later stripped naked. >> mrs. davis used her shoe. her high heel shoe as a weapon during that attack. prosecutors and detectives were able to charge her with armed robbery because she used that high heeled shoe as a blunt force object. >> reporter: davis is the second suspect in custody. last week aaron parson's turned himself in. parsons who you see throwing the first punch publicly apologized. authorities also identified three others and put warrants out for their arrest. but as you see on the video there are many more than just

asked to call the warrant aprehe thinks task force. a spring nor'easter slams maryland and several other states. bernadette woods and bob turk are tracking that storm. >> reporter: winter fell on western maryland a frozen surprise for the middle of spring. it may have been rain down below but not up here. >> nice up here on top. >> reporter: on top of kaiser's ridge. >> it's been like this all morning, wet, cold and wind blowing. the snow meant a lot of equipment that had been put up at the end of the winter had to be put up and hit the road. >> we're getting ready for our spring inspection. so i brought the keys in last night around 10:00. >> reporter: crews did make it

out to keep the roads clean. but for those who are not in a hurry, waiting it out was the better option. some weren't equipped for the stay on top of the hill. >> i was expecting to wear shorts, i had shorts on the other day. >> you know when you spend summer down in florida and you come back. this is not fun. >> reporter: several inches of snow in time of year is not unheard of but it is still rare enough to use caution when passing through. >> the main thing to do is slow down and be careful. >> reporter: despite the conditions state police report very few accidents on this stretch of 68. back to you on tv hill. >> other areas also hit hard by this storm, this is what they're dealing with in john's town, pennsylvania. you can see snow blankets the street. in rochester new york lots of snow as well.

the nor'easter brought winds up to 25 miles per hour there. and so to blame few thousands of downed power lines. and bob turk is tracking the storm, let's start inside with bob. >> let's take a look at radar, still snowing in western portions of pennsylvania. all through the region we're still getting reports of snow in the upper elevations. still light rain going on. so over the next few hours we do expect to see a little more light rain in the area. temperature wise it's been cold all day but take a look at this snow going on in western pa right now up to the northwest. see that spin, that's the low pressure causing the snow. eventually we'll start seeing dry air coming our way tomorrow. but the rain was headed our way. >> wjz continues with our drought watch. one to 2-inches generally

speaking around the region of a good soaking rain out there. for lower parts of the eastern shore and for southern parts of maryland over two inches. you see park hall, 3.4- inchesover esover -- inches of rain. we really did need this. the deficit has really been slight. down to 3/4 of an inch for the month and for the year just under 4-inches. we started out at over five inches and most of that came in the last six weeks. we really needed this and we have the chance for some more rain coming on later this week. we'll have that in the forecast. back inside. >> thank you, bernadette. stay with wjz for first warning weather coverage. for a live look any time you can log on to wjz.com. well investigators are still searching for the cause of a three alarm fire in canton. wjz is live over the warehouse where the flames broke out. the fire broke people from the

home and cut off power to thousands. monique griego reports. >> reporter: 8:30 last night massive flames filled the sky over canton after a three alarm fire breaks out at a warehouse. >> it was flames everywhere, it started in one part and it started escalating and escalating. it went through the whole entire building it was pretty, it was epic. >> reporter: nearly 50 firefighters were called in to battle the flame. heavy smoke forced 50 residents to evacuate their homes. about 1,500 homes also lost power thanks to down power lines and a down transformer. firefighters were also

concerned on what was on the inside. chemicals used in the company. it would take three hours for firefighters to finally get the upper hand on the flames. the entire roof of the front portion of the building collapsed. hazmat teams from the maryland department of environment will now team up to evaluate any hazardous chemicals left behind. as for neighbors they're praising the fire department who stopped flames from spreading to near by homes. >> reporter: the cause of the fire is still under investigation. reporting from canton, monique griego. >> reporter: a building inspector is on-site to determine how the fire start. according to our media partner the baltimore sun, travers johnson pled guilty to

second degree murder. the 17-year-old and his twin brother were accused of setting a pit bull on fire. the dog named phoenix was so burned she had to be put down. two brothers are charged with beating a 15-year-old boy in november 2010 while they were conducting a neighborhood watch patrol. their trial was scheduled to return today but they're attorneys have requested a change of venue. there are major developments in the trayvon martin case tonight. tonight george zimmerman is out of jail. tonight the police chief that originally let zimmerman go free is trying to resign. >> reporter: sanford police chief bill lee is quitting. lee had been under pressure to

quit. last month, lee temporarily stepped aside. >> that's my role as the leader of this agency has become a distraction. >> reporter: but now lee says he's giving up the position entirely. state investigators took over the case and eventually charged zimmerman with second degree murder. the neighborhood watch volunteer was released from jail late sunday after posting bail. his attorney is not revealing where his client is staying over fears for his safety. >> we have not had any active threats recently. but the concern is that there is this ground swelling of opposition to mr. zimmerman's position or what they believe his position to be that we're concerned about it. >> reporter: there are concerns zimmerman was allowed to leave the state of florida. authorities say he is wearing a gps monitoring device and they can track his every move. zimmerman has yet to officially plead in court but newly released documents showed his attorney filed a written plea of not guilty days ago. the documents also reveal that

los -- prosecutors wanted zimmerman to wear a prison suit not a suit during the hearing. if convicted of second degree murder, zimmerman could face life in prison. randall pinkston. >> zimmerman's arrangement is scheduled for may 8. >> according to charging documents officers smelled marijuana coming from a park in drew hill park. snoden was in that car with a registeredded sex offender. the announcement comes as snoden announced he will sue leopold. and the clock is ticking in annapolis tonight. still no decision on their doomsday budget.

mary is in the newsroom with more as governor martin o' malley considers other options to get it passed. >> reporter: governor o'malley scheduled to speak with house speaker michael bush. the governor says he will then decide if it's necessary to bring the council back. denise. >> thank you mary, the governor's meeting is set for tomorrow. finally good news about the price of gas. we sure noticed that the price is going down. the national average is up 5- cents in the past two weeks. it's the first decline since december. prices are still relatively high on average drivers around the country are paying $3.85 for a gallon of regular. here in maryland we're still playing a little more than the

it is cloudy and 46 degrees in central maryland. right now the complete forwarning weather is coming up. dick brennan reports on the edwards case. >> reporter: john edwards had just a quick word for spectators as he arrived to the white house with his daughter kate. edwards faces six counts accusing him of using campaign funds to conceal his affair with a videographer. edwards attorney argue that the money was a gift and since it never went into the candidate's

campaign account, it could not violate any rules. in fact, edwards says he did not know about the funds. it was his campaign manager young. for a while he pretended to be the father of hunter's baby and he may have broken the law when he contacted other witnesses to ask about their testimony. >> this is more about what edwards is saying and young is saying. >> reporter: edwards initially denieded the affair. when it was disclosed it turned public opinion against him as his wife elizabeth lost her battle against cancer. attorneys have not decided whether to put edwards on the stand. the stakes are high. a possible 30 years years if he's convicted. dick brennan. and the trial is expected to last six weeks. president obama makes his

first ever appearance at the holocaust museum in washington. he's marking the holocaust days of remembrance. at the museum, the president lit candles to honor those killed during the holocaust. the president said the world must not allow such seeds of hate to take root again. the dangers of distracted driving they are front and center for teenagers especially this time of the school year. mary has more now on how a local school is keeping kids safe. >> reporter: a nascar champion came to a howard county high school to show students how to stay safe behind the wheel especially as prom season approaching. nascar champion kurt busch has posted 13 wins as the fastest

today's event was the first of several events leading up to prom week. the university unveiled and dedicated a new memorial for student soldier, past, present and future today. the event included a special tribute to timothy coyer. today's ceremony was followed by a day long festival. look at those proud soldiers there. >> i should say. we've got it. we have the rain. >> it's pretty much put a dent in the drought we had. it's been chilly too. 46 now west winds at 18. the barometer on the way back up. looks like some improvement coming tomorrow right after this. 3w4r5 ,,,,,, we love gardening...

as much as 8-inches of wet snow today. it's still snowing lightly in some of those areas here and much of central maryland light rain continues from place to place and a little bit of peaks in sun. take a look at temperatures right now. it's been chilly. that was a long time ago. 53 at ocean city, 34 now at oakland as you see. but in cumberland down the mountain in the valley there it's up to 43. any where from fallsburg west that's where the snow has been going. a little bit of wet snow mixed in. that's pretty much gone but we still have a chance of a few showers, over the next few hours. temperatures generally in the 40s as you see. actually running down for this time of the day about 20 degrees colder than average. two weeks ago on monday we were 91 degrees. do you remember? now we're at 46.

west winds now they're beginning to calm down. we still have 18 ocean city at 10. low pressure, i mean this is one heck of a storm that just got all its energy together, off the atlantic coast, came up the east coast. still snowing in portions of the western pennsylvania and western new york. a little skinny line of scattered snow. it's beginning to move out some what but it's still snowing out there. still some light rain. there's clearing sky west of us. we might get a little sun tomorrow. but the circulation continuing to drag the cool air in. we will probably see a will the of clouds, maybe yet a couple of sprinkles and showers can develop tomorrow afternoon with this chilly air. we're going to get some showers. late wednesday night and thursday, another front seat come -- front comes in from the southwest with warmer air. might bring us a few showers on thursday. we will have additional chances of rain. after weeks of no rain things will turn around. it'll be quite gusty in the

-- cloudy and 46 degrees in central maryland. the weather we did not get this winter is making an appearance today. a rare nor'easter dumping snow from maryland to new england including here in baltimore. >> reporter: wheels are spinning on icy roads in pennsylvania. a rare april nor'easter is dumping snow and rain from maine to virginia. >> this is supposed to be springtime. >> i know. and it's not. >> reporter: in john's town pennsylvania, residents are digging out and longing for last week's unseasonably warm weather. >> i can't believe in april we're getting snow. it's ridiculous. >> six to 8-inches, 10-inches that's a lot of snow to get in april. >> reporter: the wet heavy snow is weighing down tree branches.

electricity is down in pennsylvania. marge gillmor is keeping her fingers crossed. >> we'll be here unless the power is out. >> reporter: one surfer turned in himself wet suit for a ski suit. duarte j era ldino. to the north and the east the threat is rain. much of new hampshire and western maine are under a flood watch. and bob turk is here tracking the nor'easter and the rain that came along with it. >> it's beginning to wind down and overnight tonight we'll just be dealing with rather cloudy skies. these shots here up to the northwest that is primarily the form of snow. see it spinning down into portions of garrett and allegheny county. we have some activity in our region but it looks like the heaviest snowfall as you see across portions of the new york

state. six to 12-inches, and a little skinny line there in the allegheny mountain where as much as 12-inches can fall and already has accumulated as much as 8-inches over portions of garrett county and around john's town reports there of six to 10-inches of snow. and it's heavy wet snow. we it did bring down some trees and power lines in those areas. for us we'll look for some improvement in the weather and big warm up at least compared to what we had today coming later this week. vic. >> stay with wjz for first warning weather coverage. for updates in the forecast. log on to our website at wjz.com. the search continues tonight for a little girl who disappeared from her home in arizona. mary bubala is in the newsroom as police research new evidence. >> reporter: isabel celis has not been seen since friday. police began searching the house early and said they found

something suspicious around an entry point. officers aren't releasing any details now but say they are treating the case as a possible kidnapping. police are also canvassing the block circulating pictures of isabel, denise. >> police say there's also the possible the girl simply wandered away from home. but officials say that scenario becomes less likely as more time passes. the missing case of a young boy remains a mystery. >> reporter: massive containers filled with debris, dirt and garbage from the depths of this basement taken away this morning. it has all been sifted through and will be placed in a landfill. law enforcement sources tell cbs that investigators uncovered what they initially believed to be food bones and strands of hair.
