on the defense, attorneys for two local brothers begin building their case in the

assault trial. >> what one of the werdesheim's said on the stand. hearing from one of the brothers charged with beating an african american teenager. he testifies about what he said happened in court. eliyahu werdesheim has -- eliyahu werdesheim has been on the stand this morning. >> reporter: good afternoon. e eliyahu werdesheim has never denied hitting corey but he said it happened in self-defense. that is exactly what he's saying on the stand. the 24-year-old student started testifying at 9 o'clock this morning, painting an opposite picture of what the state did in its case. he said he was responding for a call to a jewish watch group. he said the victim was peering into houses. the teen became upset

and grabbed a wooden plank with nails. he said he got out of his car to try to calm him down but the teen started running after him. he said on the stand, quote, he was on mier very, very quick -- on me very, very quickly. i deflected his right hand with my left hand. i hit him with my right hand. it's different from what prosecutors say. they said they profiled him, got out of the car, pinned him to the ground and beat him repeededly. right now the load prosecutor is cross examining werdesheim. we could have a verdict as early as this afternoon or tomorrow. we're live at the courthouse. >> thank you. both brothers face multiple charges including assault and false imprisonment.

lawyers are heading back to court, today the prosecution plans to build their case against julius henson. they plan to call rhonda russell the woman who recorded the calls. henson is accused of election fraud. he claims he's been persecuted because he worked for republicans. police released the chilling 911 tapes from a social service worker made just moments after a mother stabs her baby in the head. >> she's in our conference room. she was having a visit with the mother and she stabbed the baby. >> how old is the child? >> an infant can you get here quickly. >> police say the social worker made that call after 29 neerld tenisha thomas is to bed -- 29-year-old tenisha thomas stabbed her daughter. she said
