the ravens lose a major piece of their defense. . >> the player whose injured and how long he'll be out. hello again. >> here's what people are talking about today. we have breaking news, ravens star linebacker terrence suggs is likely out for most if not all of the 2012 season. the information just released. >> good afternoon. suggs tore his achilies tendon. suggs says the injury happened during a conditioning test. he denies it what happened while playing basketball. he is scheduled to have surgery next week. no word if it's a partial or full tear. he says he hopes to be back on the field by december. he is he's motivated by reports that he will miss the entire season.

>> thank you. he was named the nfl defensive player of the year after last season in which he had 70 tackles. we'll have much more on suggs' injury today. in just a few hours a verdict is expected in the trial of two brothers charged with beating a teenager while patrolling for a neighborhood watch group. we are live outside the courthouse. good morning. >> reporter: good afternoon. we expect that verdict at 3 o'clock this afternoon. before this trial the defense waived a right to a jury. it's a judge deciding if it's case of say salt or self-defenseful -- defense. >> they are just hours away from knowing whether they'll be convicted of an assault. the bench trial lasted two weeks. the state accusing the brothers

targeted corey ausby during a call for a watch group. prosecutors say the werdesheim's pushed and pinned the teen to the ground, then beat him with a radio. eliyahu werdesheim testify that ausby attacked first. he admits to folly ausby who -- following ausby who he says was peering into houses. his younger brother told ausby, you don't belong around here, you belong in school. that's when ausby retrieved a wooden plank with nails from a house. werdesheim, a soldier for the israeli army said he used his skills to try to calm him down but he charged at him with the stick. he said avi had no part in the incident. >> reporter: some legal experts believe this case fell apart

human rights. he now wants to leave china with clinton. the state department has not said whether it will reopen negotiations. >> he is still in the hospital where officials brought him yesterday. maryland lawmakers are headed for a special session. the gov ernor is working on the details of an income tax increase. last month lawmakers failed to pass that measure. the special session is expected to be called for may 14th. downtown commuters take note, full closures of the johns falls expressway will be closed tonight until 4 a.m. if you travel southbound, on one lane will be open. these closures are needed for emergency repairs
