to be sacred, an unthinkable act. >> hard to fathom. >> reporter: the administrator shot. a homeless man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. neighbors tell wjz that often tried to reach after the homeless population. >> it's wrong. the guy obviously was mentally ill, had some problems. that's the kind of people the church likes to help. >> reporter: he'd been coming to the food pantry. >> recently, the staff members say he's become argumentative and some asked him not to come back. >> reporter: but he did and police say he brought a gun. church members gathered to remember the victim. >> many of us remember her

fondly and sad about anyone else would be with a death of someone close. >> hope she's in comfort. >> reporter: now the church must come together to cope with the horror that happened here. and was pronounced dead at the scene. mary is being kept alive on life-support so her family can donate her organs. wjz eyewitness news., meghan mccorkell. a car with a light rail train sending several people to the hospital. sky 17. you can see the back door. people went to the hospital with minor injuries. a handgun inside a baltimore elementary school and even more shocking, in the hands of a prekindergartenner.

>> reporter: luckily, a teacher was able to discover and call for help before something potentially horrific happened and now the little boy made several charges. at north wood elementary in baltimore -- >> crazy. >> reporter: parents are fuming after learning a prekindergartenner brought a gun to school and students are still recovering. >> i was scared because i thought it was somebody in my classroom. >> reporter: city school police arrested the 5 year old boy's mother who identified as 37 year old burnetta anderson charged with giving the minor access to a firearm, reckless endangerment and having a gun on her person and vehicle.

>> makes no sense. >> reporter: a .22 caliber handgun, but the school's system has not revealed whether it was loaded or not. >> could have got a hold of the gun and then just playing with it and other kids could have got hurt. >> reporter: northwood principal sent this letter to parents saying they work diligently to make sure northwood elementary is a safe environment for learning and asks parents to monitor what their children bring to school. >> keep weapons locked up. >> reporter: required school authorities to suspend students who bring guns to school. weijia jiang, wjz eyewitness news. >> all right, thank you very much, weijia. no word on whether he's been

news. if you think the moon is bright tonight, wait until tomorrow. the celestial phenomenon tomorrow will be the biggest and brightest full moon because it's passing closer than usual to the earth. on the east coast, it will appear the largest around sun set. let's hope it's clear. no clouds. it was nice out there tonight. >> you need to look to the east. that's where the moon rises. clear? i think it will be. take a look at radar. there's a front to the north of us. some showers but most dissipated in a pennsylvania and around the metro, not much to speak of at all. so we don't have a great chance of showers overnight. slight chance of a shower, that's putting in the forecast. the front should be in the area by later on tonight and at 3:00 a.m., it should be somewhere
