told you. more than 5-inches above normal for the year. that's more than a month of rain deficit. let's take a look at temps around the area. plenty of clouds, 67 here. 59 ocean city, with the winds off the ocean it's chilly. 61 up in elkton as well. the warm spot out to the west. we had some sun earlier but there's showers headed your way. 70 cumberland, 69 showers and thunderstorms activity in garrett county and that's moving up toward the northeast. 69 in dc,66 par river locally. bell air and rock haul with the winds off the bay there and the ocean. westminster as 66. a bit of a breeze too. that'll warm us up a few degrees. showers also in the forecast because of a system out to the west. actually a frontal system with high pressure developing to the

north. they had showers in pennsylvania, got kind of close to rain a little bit around 10:00, 11:00 west of the city. now scattered thundershowers. doesn't look like it's total cloud cover. and shower activity developing. looks like that front however will stall out as it reaches the east coast. that means we think a layer of low pressure is going to develop along that front and give us some increased chance of showers again on wednesday. so until the front gets through which will be late wednesday, the risk of showers will be with us thursday. some dry air comes in, also some chilly air coming in. sunshine perhaps in the morning and clouds building up in the afternoon. maybe a brief sprinkle or shower thursday afternoon. but most of the rain will be later tuesday into wednesday afternoon. gusty winds in the bay up to 25 knots and there'll be a south wind. sunset 8:07. we're get into the longest days

searching for this man, 35-year- old adam mays as they investigate the disappearance of a woman and her daughters. they were last seen at their home which police searched again on sunday. adam was a family friends which is described as being an uncle to the girls. late last week police found the bodies of two unidentified people inside a home in union county mississippi that's linked to mays. investigators will not say if the bodies were children. neighbors are praying for the victims and urging mays to come forward. >> let us know where the kids are. let us know where that mom is. >> reporter: police say joanne banes husband was getting ready to move the family to arizona when they disappeared. investigators are still trying to determine if joanne went willingly. >> this is a very quiet

community. nothing serious has ever happened around here. it's a pretty rough situation. >> reporter: mays might have changed his appearance or everyone cut or died the girl's hair to disguise his identity. there's a reward for information that leads to the banes family and mays' arrest. >> mays was last seen in mississippi but he also has ties to arizona, texas, the carolinas and florida. a murder mystery at the kentucky derby. police are trying to determine who killed a track worker and why. mary is live in the newsroom with more on the investigation. >> the body of perez is found hours after i'll have another is crowned kentucky derby winner. police are asking witnesses to come forward saying there were several fights in the area where his body was found. perez was from guatemal and

lived at the quarters for workers. mary, thank you. police stress that perez' killing has no apparent connection to the kentucky derby. police say 37-year-old gregory wallis confronted the victim at his home. pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man several times. now the wounds apparently are not serious, wallis was arrested by officers near the scene and facing a number of charges. there is growing concern over a controversial ruling over pit bulls here in maryland. an organization that promotes animal rights legislation is asking the governor to pass new legislation during the general assembly special session next week. political reporter pat warren has more on the force behind the movement. >> the 2007 pit bull attack that mauled 10-year-old dominique seleski is having far reaching consequences. >> he grabbed my leg, he started shaking me around and

shaking me around the alley. >> reporter: dominique is one of several attacks. >> he came under the fence and bit my leg. >> reporter: a court found that when a pit bull is involved there's no more need to determine if a pit bull is negligent. it raises a protest from maryland groups a watchdog that now want it is governor to intervene. >> i have been overwhelmed from the response of people who are very upset on this ruling. >> reporter: the chair is asking the governor to bring the issue up in the legislation. >> the maryland is a one bite rule. all dogs get one bite before they are determined to be dangerous. what this law does is it says, that pit bulls and pit bull mixes and any dog that any jury
