people are talking about today. the man who runs the secret service is on capitol hill facing some tough questions about the prostitution scandal. it's daniel nottingham with the latest. >> secret service director mark sul san told lawmakers the -- sullivan told lawmakers the misconduct did not engage president obama. >> the prompt remove of these individuals enabled us to make necessary replacements and justments to the staff -- and adjustments to the staffing plan. >> sullivan is on the hot seat following the revelations about the secret service hiring prostitutes. he believes it was an isolated incident. he said similar incidents were investigated and found to be untrue. >> this misconduct was almost

certainly not an isolated incident. >> the secret service investigation cleared three agents of the most serious allegations. the agency is moving to revoke security clearance for one employee and eight others for fired. >> four of those agents are now trying to get their jobs back according to the washington post. the men say they are being made scrape goats for behavior -- scapegoats for behavior that was tolerated. >> the notion that this type of behavior is condoned or authorized is absurd. >> prostitution is legal in columbia. the secret service issued new guidelines making it clear agents are subject to u.s. laws while traveling over seas. >> fall out from the scandal seems to be spreading to other federal agencies. the dea is looking into agent misconduct

during foreign trips. a flight forced to make an emergency landing in maine was never in any danger. the u.s. airways flight from headed from paris to nbaing newt gingrich when a woman -- north carolina when a woman handed a note to a flight attendant. doctors found no scars or incisions after she said she had a device surgely immranlted -- -- surgically implanted. a woman is sexually assaulted. now police are on the manhunt for the person responsible. it happened near the heart of downtown. police say a woman was walking alone tuesday morning when a man pulled her into an alley and began sexually assaulting her. she was able to fight him off and run for help. that investigation is still ongoing. we could be digging deeper into our pockets to pay our water bills. that's if the city department of public works gets what it says it needs. officials are getting ready to

ask the board for a 9% increase in water rates. that money will be used to update the city's water delivery infrastructure. >> in order to keep the system running and keep the system growing we have to do this. we're keeping it at 9% for the simple reason that we understand people's budgets. we need to do more. there's no doubt about it. we need to do more. >> if the increase is approved it will raise the average annual water bill for a family of four to just shy of $100. a public hearing will be held on june 27th. it's not sunny outside but it feels good out there. taking a live look at a warm over cast sky. does that mean there are showers headed our way? bernadette woods and tim

williams are at camden yards, marty is in the first warning weather center. let's start with marty. >> let's go ahead and take a look at some temperatures around this noon hour. understand it is a bit steammy. that 6 76 -- 74 is six degrees warmer than yesterday. the fact of the matter is i think we'll start getting very active when it comes to storms forming late -- later on this afternoon. this is moving with this slight flow. it's got a little bit of push to it right now. it started out as a shower. there's some heavy pockets of rain within it. through the afternoon we'll keep watching radar for you.

it is cloudy and 74 in central maryland right now. you're complete forecast is come ugh up -- coming up. egypt is going to the polls in the first election in the history. they're electing a president more than a year after a violent uprising took down theirs. >> they could not hold back their excitement as they surrounded presidential hopefuls. the former foreign minister is a front runner in the first free election in the country's history. >> he said god willing democracy will prevail and we

will start rebuilding egypt. >> some men and women waited for hours if -- in strike that lines to -- in separate lines to vote. they had photos and symbols next to their names since many can't read. one is a former member of the muslim brotherhood party once banned. they are choosing a new president after mass protests outed the dictator. the election will determine the course of the new egypt and it's being watched around the world. former u.s. president jimmy carter is among the observers. >> i've seen voters go in, they cast their ballots in seconds and put them into the box. it seems to be moving faster. >> police have increased security across the country. the army, which has been

governing, is promising to hand over power to the winner. >> the new president must win more than 50% of the vote. if that doesn't happen, there will be a run off vote next month. an oregon family were killed from a murder suicide. the husband and father was found dead in his car 75 miles away after the mother and children were found inside the home. it's not clear what led to it. a new jersey couple may been facing child abuse charges after a practical joke nearly turns tragedy. the father jokingly putting his father into the washing machine. when he shuts the door it automatically looks and starts the cycle. it took more than a minute for a worker to unplug the machine. police are investigating. in china, this little boy is lucky to be alive after he takes

a ride right into the middle of a busy intersection. a police officer eventually spotted the 3-year-old and was able to get him off the road. his grandfather was supposed to be watching him when the man stepped away to use the restroom. the boy was not hurt. >> wow . a new york city woman says she lost her job because she's too attractive. lauren odds says she was told to tape down her breasts and wear over size clothes because they say she was distracting her male coworkers. she said she did what was asked and was fired anyway. >> i do not believe they have the right to impose their religious beliefs on me. >> so far odds has hired attorney gloria al red. still ahead on wjz
