craigslist criminals online buyers lured into danger on baltimore streets. >> how armed robbers are targeting their victims and the warning from police tonight. hello everybody i'm denise koch. >> and i'm vic carter. here's what people are talking about tonight. >> a serious of violent robberies linked to craigslist. dennis mccorkel has more on this frightening tend. >> reporter: police have linked four armed robberys to the same person posting on craigslist that gunman getting away with thousands. rare coin collections, pricey watches, some of the items

people thought they were buying on craigslist but when they showed up to this quiet community with cash, they got a gun in their face. >> you can't trust, there's a lot of things on social network you can't trust. >> reporter: four people robbed, when one tried to run the robber fired a shot. >> you have some suspects that are really preying on individuals and trying to be smart doing it. >> reporter: the most notorious, phillip markoff he used the site to lure women to hotel rooms, killing one and assaulting several others. >> i can be you know the worse criminal in the world and i can say that i had things, lure people to it, take their wallets and run. >> reporter: gary laclu says ask questions about the buyers before meeting them. >> get address, google earth, look at their house, see if

bulls. opponents of the ruling have already gathered thousands of signatures. they hope lawmakers will take up the issue when they return to annapolis next year. tonight a victory for a group of pit bulls rescued from a baltimore county dog fighting incident. after two years being held as police evidence, most of the dogs known as the pit six are ready for adoption. kai jackson explains how the abused dogs were brought back from the brink. >> reporter: the baltimore humane society wants them in good homes. they were all abused pit bulls, relegated to a life of fighting, torture and pain. after months of rehabilitation, they're ready for adoption. the animals dubbed the pit six were part of a dog fighting ring. a 36-year-old man was sentenced

to three years in prison for animal cruelty. the case involved the pit six and was closed in 2009. >> that was their base purpose, as practice for all the big fighters. >> reporter: what they need now are loving homes. rehabilitation of the pit six took time, every dog is different and these had a lot to learn. what they learned was all the dogs wanted was attention and love. >> what you find is many of these dogs are sweet dogs. many of them are stolen from bag yards. >> reporter: the baltimore humane society still wants the state of maryland to crack down on dog fighting. they say the best way to do that is to teach children compassion about animals. >> thank you, kai. if anyone is interested in adopting the pit six you can contact the baltimore humane society. the number is there on the

screen, 833-8848. three jockeys are hurt in a seven horse pile up during this harness race. emergency crews had to to the best of your knowledge off -- had to turn off their sirens so they didn't scare the horses. all of the jockeys are expected to be okay. a 911 dispatcher is off the job for what he did on the job, falling asleep. it happened in april but the tapes are just being released as part of the investigation. >> can you say anything right now? >> reporter: the 911 call came from a woman in a rockville condo, her husband was having trouble breathing, he was turning blue. the call taker transferred her to a dispatcher but quickly realized something wasn't right. >> hold on a second, i'm going to try to get them on the line again. >> okay. >> reporter: scott graham says the sleeping dispatcher was 17 hours into a 24 hour shift. >> the employee was immediately taken from the floor, placed on

paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the inquiry. >> reporter: the sleeping dispatcher finally wakes up and taking over the call. >> he stopped breathing for a little while. and now i just pushed my hand on his chest. >> what's the address? what's the address? what's the address? ma'am, what's the affords? >> reporter: the 24 hour 911 shifts are now under scrutiny after the dispatcher fell asleep. >> okay, hold on one second, i'm going to try to get them on the line again. >> okay. >> reporter: an ambulance was finally sent to the woman's condo and he is expected to be okay. police have not released the dispatcher's name pending the outcome of the investigation. a thrill of a lifetime today for some local school children. they got a close look at the bat mobile. or at least one that looks just

little bit. barometer rising 299.8. east winds at five, humidity way up there, dewpoints pretty close to the temperature. can be some fog where it rained. speaking of rain, prince williams county virginia southwest a little bit they picked up over 5-1/2 inches of rain in the last two days. they've had flooding. that one particular location has just been swamped. it's amazing. while areas east have had a trace or none at all. hagerstown has picked up an inch. 65 ocean city, the water temperatures just came in at 66 degrees by the way. 71 annapolis and kent and 67 in westminster. east winds around here, continue to bring up moisture. during the day tomorrow, another area of disturbed weather continues. although it's weaker right now

than it was, it's going to be raining around the region. the sun comes in and gets things percolating. you get these showers forming, you can see how they're diminishing tonight. you get a batch to the west and across portions of the carolinas. maybe an hour or two risk of shower and thunderstorms. then some heat coming in to the end of the week. saturday, sunday and monday temps right around 90 degrees. that's july temperatures, actually above july. southeast winds five to 10 knots in the bay. the bay temp 69, 62 showers to the west of us. then fog overnight. 84, showers and thunderstorms possible later on. 87 on friday. hot for the weekend, for the most part dry. it'll be humid. maybe a slight chance of a scattered afternoon, evening thunderstorms. saturday, sunday, probably nothing on monday. great swimming, great cook out weather for this holiday. denise.

they get a day off tomorrow. kansas city comes to town on friday. in buoy tonight, bryan roberts plays in a game for the first time in more than a year. beginning his rehab assignment with the bay sox. roberts walked in both of his at-bats. he's attempting to return to the big league after suffering headaches due to a concussion. he talked about being back in the game after being out for so long. >> just excited to play the game and you know just feel blessed to have an opportunity to get back out there. i didn't know for a long time if i would have that opportunity. >> he will be back in the line up tomorrow night. expected to play about 20 games with hopes of joining the orioles in late june. ravens mini camp in owins mills, it's typical many of the veterans do not participate in
