a tragic death. a father accused of shaking his baby could now face murder charges. good afternoon. here is what people are talking at

today. a baby did die shortly after she was violently shaken. police and prosecutors say her father should be facing harsher charges. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon to everybody. that baby had been cling together -- clinging to life. now her father is expected to be charged with murder. >> 32-year-old damonte palmer confessed to shaking his daughter, 6 month old baby girl oh -- olivia. she died from several injuries, burns, a broken rib and bruising to her arm. police say he told them his daughter wouldn't stop crying, that's why he shook her. researchers are using a high -tech doll to

demonstrate. >> throwing up, a high pitched cry like something was hurting him. i took him to the er. >> mom was stunned to hear her son had been shaken at a day care. he survived. just one of 15% of children make it through with no symptoms. typically the brain is injured when blood have vessels -- blood vessels break. now palmer is held without bond. >> reporter: because that baby has died prosecutors expect to upgrade the charges sometime today. >> thank you very much. oliv ishgs ia is the 5th juvenile to be killed this year. we have some breaking news to tell you about right now. a propane truck and tractor

collided. firefighters just arrived on the scene. no word on my injuries. we have a -- on any injuries. we have a crew covering that story. the campaign consultant who sent out the 2010 election night robocalls is facing a huge fine. a civil judgement ordered julius henson a $1 million fine. it did not identify the candidate or party paying for it. earlier he was convicted of conspiracy. he will be sentenced on june 13th. state workers are hard at work verifying thousands of signatures from voters who want same sex marriage to be put on the ballot this november. ron matz is live in the news room with the latest on the night for marriage equality in the state. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. ate peer ate a -- it appears the issue will be heading to the ballot. the state is verifying 100,000

welcome back. we do still have some rain in extreme southern parts of maryland. the front is trying to move away but it's hitting a wall because of beryl. here is the center of beryl trying to make it over the water. it's going to gain some strength probably becoming a tropical storm. this is bringing rain to parts of maryland. let's switch it over and show you how it's been working out. see the front trying to move off to the east. where it has cleared the sun is starting to. coout. it's some drier air -- starting to come up. it's some drier air moving our way. we are back 10, in some cases 15 degrees cooler than yesterday. you can see cooler air is moving our way. there are 40s and 50s coming down from the north. we dope think we're -- we don't think we're going to low for our highs. we've got the front and we've got beryl. the two are

locked up right now but slowly they will both move off to the east. we're looking a nice days tomorrow. that will open up the path for beryl to keep moving off to the east. you can see all forecasts tracks, even though they intensify it keep it away from maryland and racing it out to sea. it's going to lose its tropical status quickly. by tomorrow sunshine returns. here comes the next storm. when things start moving that next storm is going to be allowed to move our way. we will see the clouds come in friday. a chance for thunderstorms friday into the early part of saturday. we know a lot going on on saturday. we're going to try and detail that as we get closer. today showers and thunderstorms coming to an end, clearing tonight, 59. tomorrow sunshine returning. sunny to partly cloudy, much drier, very comfortable day, about 82. we will have your five day coming up.
