today. a baby did die shortly after she was violently shaken. police and prosecutors say her father should be facing harsher charges. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon to everybody. that baby had been cling together -- clinging to life. now her father is expected to be charged with murder. >> 32-year-old damonte palmer confessed to shaking his daughter, 6 month old baby girl oh -- olivia. she died from several injuries, burns, a broken rib and bruising to her arm. police say he told them his daughter wouldn't stop crying, that's why he shook her. researchers are using a high -tech doll to

demonstrate. >> throwing up, a high pitched cry like something was hurting him. i took him to the er. >> mom was stunned to hear her son had been shaken at a day care. he survived. just one of 15% of children make it through with no symptoms. typically the brain is injured when blood have vessels -- blood vessels break. now palmer is held without bond. >> reporter: because that baby has died prosecutors expect to upgrade the charges sometime today. >> thank you very much. oliv ishgs ia is the 5th juvenile to be killed this year. we have some breaking news to tell you about right now. a propane truck and tractor

welcome back. we do still have some rain in extreme southern parts of maryland. the front is trying to move away but it's hitting a wall because of beryl. here is the center of beryl trying to make it over the water. it's going to gain some strength probably becoming a tropical storm. this is bringing rain to parts of maryland. let's switch it over and show you how it's been working out. see the front trying to move off to the east. where it has cleared the sun is starting to. coout. it's some drier air -- starting to come up. it's some drier air moving our way. we are back 10, in some cases 15 degrees cooler than yesterday. you can see cooler air is moving our way. there are 40s and 50s coming down from the north. we dope think we're -- we don't think we're going to low for our highs. we've got the front and we've got beryl. the two are
