lewis was living the high life, making millions. now he's in financial trouble, filing for bankruptcy with assets according to public reports that include a fur coat, an amazement park, and that championship ring he won in baltimore. he's $10.6 million in debt, even owing money to the stadium. >> i'm not a youngster anymore. this is really a business. >> reporter: the nbas antwone walker made more than $100 million. he ended up broke. sports illustrated estimated that about 8 in every 10 nfl players have financial difficulties two years after they retire. >> athletes feel immortal.

abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. he admits he showered with boys but insists he never molested them. if convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. people are still cleaning up days after 10 tornadoes roared through maryland. this is the picture from friday night. damage is estimated in the millions of dollars. a once in a lifetime signing up in the sky. the transit of venus when the tiny planet passes in front of the sun. it's a phenomenon only visible once a century. we join stargazers in baltimore for tonight's rare glimpse. >> reporter: if you blinked or weren't looking, you may have missed it. it's one of the biggest cosmic events to have in recent history. for 7 hours, stargazers saw the

planet venus as a tiny black dot move across the sun. >> every now and then, both venus and the earth pass at the same time. that's when the transit occurs. >> reporter: some used protective glasses so they could safely watch venus traverse the sun. >> as far as i know, venus is supposed to be crossing the sun, so it's kind of like an eclipse, but people just calling it a transit. >> reporter: most people in the united states won't even be able to see it. did you see the transit? >> i did. i thought it was going to cover the whole sun, but it was still neat. >> my kids may not even be able to see this. we'll see. >> reporter: the very last transit of venus was in 2004. the next is in 2117.

right now. the complete forecast is coming up. lightning is being blamed for starting this wild fire if colorado. it has already destroyed 200 acres. dozens of families are on evacuation alerts as strong winds are pushing the blaze closer to populated areas. no injuries have been reported. crews say about 45% of the fire is contained. a reporter and photographer from a television station in north carolina find themselves chasing down two arson suspects. they were doing a story on a vandalized church when they smelled gasoline and then saw two men running away. the reporter ran after the suspects following them to a nearby home. he called police and both men were arrested. disturbing details emerging following the arrest of a canadian porn star accused of murdering and dismembering a man. he video taped the murder.

they say he sent the body parts to a political office. he was the subject of an international man hunt. he says he will not fight extradition. crews rushed to a howard county hotel and ingredients for a dangerous drug are found. we have the details on this unusual meth lab bust in elkridge. >> reporter: guests staying on the 4th floor evacuated after an unexpected wake-up call. >> firefighters came down the hallway. they were pounding on the doors. >> reporter: he soon found out police were busting a meth lab. the drug is usually made with mixing over the counter cold medicine. in some cases, the combination can be explosive. >> the room was just down the hall from me. they had arrested these three guys and they had them cuffed,

they had them on the floor. >> reporter: police arrested two more outside the hotel. >> we've arrested five in total. facing charges of manufacturerring, possession, and possession with intent to distribute. >> reporter: more than 10,000 meth labs for busted in the u.s. last year. most cases are in the lower midwest. that's where these suspects are originally from. >> they were manufacturerring the meth because they were unable to find it in howard county. >> so it was for their own use? >> it's our understanding they were going to use it among the five of them. >> it was quite the experience. it was sort of a combination of poseidon adventure and a ride at disney world. >> reporter: those suspects are between 20 and 34 years old. all of them are in police custody.

>> and only 10 meth labs have been busted in maryland since 2004. a 3-year-old is accidentally served alcohol. he became flush, disoriented after he drank what they thought was orange juice. turned out the drink also contained vodka. changes are being made to their serving procedures. they have no plans to sue. after surviving breast cancer, singer sheryl crow reveals a new medical problem. she has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. she went to the doctor last year because she was suffering from memory loss. she says the tumor is not affecting her health. she's currently working on a musical version of the diamond. first lady michelle obama makes a special appearance on david letterman. she gets to red tonight's top 10 list -- tonight's list fun facts

very light winds. not a major factor. we've had these constant winds over the north and northeast. that has pushed the water on the southwestern and western shores of the bay. because of that, we have some advisories. we'll show you that in a minute. 70, 56 today. 80 and 59 are the averages. the record is 101. this 44 the record low. there's the advisory. we have a coastal flood warning for a little piece of baltimore county because tides come 1-2 feet above normal through tonight and tomorrow morning. the rest of the region, slightly higher than normal tides. south o us, a lot of shower and thunderstorm activity. still this cool air in place and spinning around low pressure over maine. kind of bringing these clouds down from time to time.

>> keep your seat belts buckled. it's been quite a ride. as beaten up as the orioles are and as badly as they've been playing lately, a trip to boston is not such a daunting thought these days. the red sox are injured too. they deep sweep when they were there last month. they faltered in toronto and tampa bay. bases loaded, in comes robert andino. to the 9th inning, they need just one more out. a fly ball to left, it is ruled a two-run game-timing homerun, but only after the umpires review the play on video. it's a homerun, game tied 6-6. on to extra innings.

in the 10th inning, the os get the lead right back. paulino a single up the middle. the os get two runs in the 10th and finally put away the red sox 8-6. maybe it's the moon. maybe it's fenway park, but it's always an adventure when the os play in boston. the win moves them back into a first-place tie. in new york, bases loaded for the yankees. elliot johnson, bad throw. the os and rays have the most errors in the american league and they're tied for first. great pitching by andy pettit. he looks strong. new york beats the rays 7-0. in football, one day after terell suggs reported significant progress, a report citing eyewitnesses claims the ravens line backer has not told the truth about how he got hurt.

he said he tore his tendon while taking a fitness test. eyewitnesses say suggs was playing in a basketball tournament in arizona, collided with another player, and went down in pain. he's expected to miss half the upcoming season. there are questions if ravens would be obligated to play is salary if he was injured playing basketball. at the ravens facility, they have a basketball court. i don't know why it's such a big deal. >> thank you, mark. coming up, it's the ultimate show of sportsmanship. >> why this runner carries her competitor across the finish line, next. in the black forest... a wonderful example of sportsman ship from a high school track meet. having difficulty finishing the race. that's when she got a helping hand. she helped the ailing runner complete the race, even though it meant meghan ended up finishing last. afterward she said any distance runner would have done the same thing. >> she's a winner f,,,,
