ceremony. >> reporter: the celebration officially gets underway. >> we are officially kicking off baltimore's star-spangled sail-ebration >> reporter: thousands of visitors are expected to tour the ships, all to commemorate the bicentennial of the war of 1812. the sail-ebration is drawing national and international attention, some people expected to see the ships of their home country. the navy blue angels are putting the finishing touches on their air show this weekend. >> every show location is unique, every show location has

respecting america. >> it gives you goose bumps. it does. >> reporter: the celebration of flag day even more meaningful at the place where so much history was made. >> this is a shrine, and for that reason, the people gave their lives that we could still be free. >> you feel the goose bumps. >> reporter: and the flag flying high here in the breeze over fort mchenry isn't the only historic flag in town today. >> reporter: found in the wreckage of the world trade center, the 9/11 flag has been patched together. >> the ashes from all of those people that were killed at the world trade center are residing in the threads of the flag. >> reporter: now threads from the original star spangled banner are added to the 9/11 flag in its final patch. the flag is set to be raised one again tomorrow.

abuse trial. the young men give descriptions of countless encounters with the coach. but the defense claims they are motivated by money. >> reporter: jerry sandusky left court after spending four days listening to # accusers recount disturbing childhood memories of sexual abuse by the former penn state assistant coach. the last prosecution witness was a slight 18-year-old who just graduated from high school. like the other alleged victims, he didn't have a relationship with his father. he lived in a trailer with his mother when he met sandusky through his charity, the second mile. the team told the jury sandusky started sexually abusing him during sleepovers in the coach's basement. it escalated from oral sex to rape. there was no fighting against it, he said. he said e he would scream and tell him to get off him. the teen was there more than

an earlier attack on the campus. he's accused of beating a man with a baseball bat wrapped in barb wire. drivers along i-eu9 are on high alert. we have more on the latest deadly crash. mo'nique? >> -- monique? >> reporter: a driver was heading the wrong way when she crashed into a vehicle now we have the frantic 911 calls from witnesses. >> reporter: the i-97 near mill ark rdville is the scene of a crash that leaves two cars mangled. one driver made a fatal misfake. >> we have a car going the wrong way, and another car taken by surprise and they smakd into each other.

>> reporter: 25-year-old kelly wit was traveling south in the northbound lane when she smashed into a car driven by zhang wo-chen. the accident killed both drivers. it is similar to another accident where a 19-year-old driver was hit by another driver while driving the wrong way. while there was alcohol involved in that crash, there's no indication that world chol was involved in this newest crash. >> reporter: we talked with the department of highway transportation if there's any concerns. from an engineering standpoint, there's nothing wrong with this road. >> reporter: drivers are also unsure how it could happen twice. >> i don't know if it's the road or the lights getting up

robocalls draws criticism from a strange source. julian henson's public enemy is the only one defending him. >> reporter: larry gibson does not like julius henson at all. he agrees the election night robocalls for offensive and reprehensible, clearly intended to suggest democrats need not go vote. >> nevertheless, it is dangerous to our society and particularly to minority communities to begin to criminalize political statements. >> reporter: gibson called the election laws that henson and paul shurek were charged with

unconstitutional. also, henson's one zeern con vick resulted him n him being put into jail for 60 days, while the other was charged convicted of 2 felonies and only will spend 30 days in jail. >> reporter: but prosecutors say the lack of remorse that henson displayed justified his harsher punishment and jail time. >> mr. henson made clear he didn't see this as a problem what he did. it was almost the implication highway would do it again. >> reporter: but gibson says henson's treatment was unjust and calls on the judge to reduce henson's punishment. >> henson says he's confident he will be vindicate bid appellate courts. lance armstrong fires back
