them she was outside with king in the early morning hours. she headed back inside the home and when she return she was at the bottom at the pool. they describe his death as an accident. >> rodney had a lot of nightmares and panic attacks and the way he handled it was by drinking. >> reporter: the officers involved were acquitted sparking one of the nation's worst race riots. he pleaded for an end to the violence. he spent the last decade living here. neighbors remembered him as a guy who kept to himself.

a few months ago king put out a memoir. >> can't we all just get along. that's how i would like to be remembered. dead and gone. >> reporter: the corner will perform an autopsy monday morning. wjz eyewitness news. >> king won nearly $4 million during his civil trial in the 199 0 -- 1990s. last week eight accusers took to the stand. the former coach is accused of sexually abusing ten boys over a 15 year period. thousands are taking part in this week long event in

baltimore's harbor. wjz's complete coverage continues tonight with more on how those huge crowds this weekend, derek. >> reporter: no official estimate on the number of people yet. despite a huge crowd, police not reporting any significant problems. >> hundreds watched the baltimore symphony orchestra. it was hundreds of thousands that packed the inner harbor once again sunday morning to be part of the week long commemoration to be a part of the celebration. they took advantage of the tours of the ship. for father and son's kevin and james, it made great father's day bonding. >> had lunch and walked around.

it's cloudy and 60 degrees. a brush fire gaining momentum in southern california. check out this blaze. the flames have scorched at least 1100 acres. more than 200 firefighters are on the scene. strong winds are a real factor here. so far no reports of injuries or property damage. right now police if pennsylvania are caught in the middle of a fire fight with a new jersey cop. an off duty officer is held up inside of a wife's home with more than 2000 rounds of ammunition. authorities say several police vehicles have been head. police have barricaded the area and trying to keep neighbors safe. a florida plan behind bars

tonight atuesdayed of abusing young girls inside stores. his father tipped off police. hard to see the surveillance video. police believe he groped another girl at a wal-mart a couple of weeks earlier. a good -- one man decided to jump into action and grab the fire extinguisher here. he pulls the woman up out of her vehicle just seconds before the car was fully engulfed in flames. >> he didn't get up and i'm very thankful that he knew what to do and did it. >> that guy is brave. it turns out he's a member of

son had to swim to shore. the father and the 12 year old son was swept downstream. crews pulled them up to safety. let's check in with the meteorologist. i cannot remember another stretch of weather that has been this perfect in a long time. >> this was absolutely gorgeous. i know some people liked the heat that will be coming our way this week. >> this weekend was perfect. >> next weekend you're going to want to be in the pool. >> absolutely. we're going to get to that in a moment. everything going on you couldn't had much better weather. happy father's day

>> not a major wind by any threat. also, we're going to see some clouds because of a warm threat coming our way. temperatures in the 90s. temperatures in the 100s plus. we know it gets hot out there. it's 104. in phoenix it was in the 90s. it's moving our way. tomorrow we're still in the 70s. that's because we have clouds coming our way. as soon as the warm front comes. also you see a couple of showers. there were a few thunderstorms out there. it's breaking up as it moves our way. a couple of showers and a few rumbles of thunder out there.

as it travels over us we have the chance and additional clouds around. once that leaves us, the sunshine busts out. we are in the 90s and it's going to be muggy. there is a chance after thunderstorms. they're going to be running incredibly high. by friday this cold front off to the north west will come our way giving us our best chance of thunderstorms. with the front coming our way small craft advisory goes in. tonight we go down into the 50s and see some of the clouds come in. late tonight into tomorrow depending on where in the state you are.
