many korean american business owners are saying they are being unfairly targeted. >> many gathered at the green mount senior center to hear from planning officials about the new zoning proposal that would strip the liquor license from their stores. store owners are beyond angry. >> it is basically a feeling of death because the fact that he is going to be losing everything if things don't turn out right. >> more than 100 were grandfathered in back in 1971. but city managers and health officials say new studies show a link between violent crime and neighborhoods with high concentrations of liquor stores so that is why neighborhood stores with grandfatherrd licenses would have up to 2 years to either stop selling liquor, move to an area zoned for liquor or sell their license to someone else. >> i think they need to be

>> i need your help down here. >> got to open this metal door. >> this grows big enough it takes firefighters over four hours to douse the flames. in the process one hurts his foot but otherwise no injuries, but the building is destroyed. thank you. >> thank you, sir. >> bye-bye. >> the fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause the some new developments in the investigation of a fake boat explosion in new jersey. the new lead in the case. >> mary similarities and the caller's voice led the coastguard to see that hoax may have been with the same in texas last month. nothing was found and the coastguard later determined the call came from land. a few weeks earlier, authorities were spotted to a similar call in texas. in both cases the calls came in over a high frequency channel and the caller used similar

phrases to describe the victims. >> thank you. a voice expert is analyzing the tapes. on capitol hill, a republican led panel votes to have holder in contempt. tera mergener reports with more on the showdown. >> reporter: a house panel has voted to hold the u.s. attorney general incompetent of congress. >> he calls the vote after attorney general eric holder did not turn over subpoenaed documents. a botched mexican gun running scheme. >> the department of justin sis has fought this committees investigation every step of the way. >> reporter: they met tuesday, but could not reach a deal. then holder asked the white house for executive privilege

to protect the documents and the president granted it's. >> it creates even more questions. >> reporter: the committee has been investigating fast add furious for a year and a half. during that time, the justice department has turned over 7600 documents related to the operation. >> i think we're involved more in political games man ship as opposed to getting the information they say they want. >> reporter: they spent hours in heated debate with republicans voting for contempt and democrats voting against it. >> it shouldn't be a political witch hunt against the attorney general of our country and the president in an election year. >> reporter: some called for holder's resignation. the attorney general says he still has the full confidence of the president. tera mergener, wjz eyewitness news. the next step is for the full house to consider the contempt charge.

a man claiming ties to al- qaeda, hostages were released unharmed. the gunman claimed he was acting for religious reasons. prosecutors are saying he has psychiatric problems and has no ties to al-qaeda. a military hospital in cairo says he is flipping in and out of a coma after suffering a stroke but his lawyer said he suffered a blood clot in his neck and is in stable condition. he received a life sentence for failing to stop the protestors that forced him out of office. >> the federal reserve takes actions. ben bernanke says consumer spending is rising more slowly and the economy needs support so the fed will extend a program called operation twist through the end of the year designed to drive down long-

to wjz.com and click on our special session. >> colorado firefighters are making progress. it burned more than 100 miles in bellevue. the blaze has destroyed more homes than any other fire in that state's history. some residents on standby to leave their homes today. >> the temperatures are expected to drop 20 degrees and that should help firefighters contain the flames. >> a scary jetblue flight leaves several sick. it lurched from side to side. people on board felt like they were hydroplaning. the plane made an emergency landing in las vegas. >> a florida woman is arrested for allegedly groping a tsa supervisor. carol price said she did that to demonstrate how she was inappropriately screened by tsa

agents. video shows the agent touches price's inner thighs and chest and price's attorney said she previously worked as a tsa scanner. she is charged with misdemeanors mean more battery. her case is set for july 3rd. well police are searching for the men behind a brutal beating caught on camera on a california interstate. another driver posted it's on the internet. amanda reports for wjz from los angeles. this video of a brutal beating is going viral tonight. watch as fists fly with one man winding up on the ground barely conscious after getting repeatedly kicked in the head. the video begins where the driver pulls up to an argument when they believe it is the 5 freeway on the 12th of june. the driver starts to see a dispute of the three men and

the man wearing a red shirt on the right outside his honda. the argument escalates and all of a sudden a brawl breaks out with the man on the right her ling high kicks at the guy in the striped shirt. that is when the video turns extremely violent. take a take a look as the man in the red shirt gets jump and is taken to the ground. he suffers several kicks to the head. that is when the three men speed off in their volkswagon leaving the victim on the side of the highway. >> the bystander filming this outside the passenger window wasn't alone. if you look closely, you can see many other witnesses were there to this terrible assault. >> in the rear view mirror or you can see other onlookers on a motorcycle and other cars and trucks. they hope witnesses can help figure out the identities of these four men and if this man survived the brutal attack. >> can you get up?

the orioles wrap up their road trip with one more game in new york tonight. the latest on the birds who suddenly hit a hitting slump. >> reporter: two straight games against the mets. they faced two of the top pitchers. for the orioles it has been dramatic. two straight games without scoring a single run. they have gone 21 consecutive innings without getting a run home. while some will wonder if they are doing something wrong, they faced santana last night. he threw a no-hitter earlier this season.
