good evening, everyone. there's a lot happening tonight. let's start with breaking news out of howard county where police are on the scene of a double shooting at a shopping center. it happened in the nail and hair care spa in the grant shopping center. this is in the # 1500 block of richards valley road. a man walked into the salon and fired on a female worker and a male companion. the victims are in critical condition and police are looking for the gunman. he fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

we'll let you know as soon as we get more details from police. additional crews are also rushing to the scene of a two- alarm fire in fort howard. it broke out in the 9600 block of get disburg -- gettysburg avenue. multiple units are being called in to get the flames urn control. people report seeing this fire from very far away. no other buildings or homes are threatened. there are concerns it could spread to a brush fire. the political consultant jailed for his role in the 2010 election robocall scandal has been released early. and now his attorney makes a bold statement about that controversial case. monique has new reaction for us. >> reporter: while julius henson is done with his jail time, his lawyer says their

fight is far from over. >> reporter: after serving 30 days of a 60 day sentence, julius henson was released from jail for good behavior. he had been serving time for his role in the 2010 election day robocall scandal. >> translator: jail authorities were more compassionate than the court and prosecutors. -- >> the jail authorities were more compassionate than the court and prosecutors. >> reporter: he's now back to take care of his mother. >> that was just you pure mean. >> reporter: the consultant was found guilty of the scandal. he was sentenced to 60 days behind bars, while his co- conspirator got no jail time. hon henson and his supporters

identified. there's no word on what led to his death. we have information about a deadly police-involved shooting in northwest baltimore city. police say they so the a man, 25-year-old devante bowman. police say he ran from a store and then reached into his pocket for a weapon and then was shot by awn officer. the officer is on paid administrative leave. a talented teenager's life cut short in a car accident. today, family and friends say their final fair wells. the teen's lass mates say this accident has taught them an unforgettable plon. >> reporter: family and friends say 17-year-old alec cosgeria had everything going for him. a sphar on his swim team, a popular -- a star on his swim team, a popular student, and a

popular duct tape business. >> he's a great kid, great attitude. >> he was very talented, so full of promise. touched a lot of people's lives. >> reporter: baltimore county police say alec was driving on green spring avenue after dinner with friends. somehow, he lost control of his car. it spun out on a curb and struck a tree. paramedics tried to save him, but he died at maryland shock trauma. his friends are in shock. >> it's just profound grief. we're sad and it's hard to figure out. >> reporter: detectives say speed played a role in the wreck that killed alec. the parents say the message to slow down is now even more compleerp. >> you just got to buckle up and slow down. i think we all realized it's not a joke out there.

>> reporter: at the cathedral of mary our queen, gigi barr net. there's more fallout nut penn state scandal. the painter of a famous joe paterno mural removed the halo from the painting. the halo was removed because of recent revelations of the child sex abuse scandal. he added the halo after paterno died in january. two americans are being held captive in egypt. the kidnapper is threatening to take more most damages if demands are not met. >> reporter: security is tight in egypt's sinai peninsula after two americans and their tour guide was kidnapped. the two were part of a church

mission visiting biblical sites in israel and egypt when their tour bus was ambushed. the hostage taker told the associated press he wanted to exchange the two for his uncle, who is in prison. lewis' family in boston is confident he will be released, but they are concerned about his death health. >> he is diabetic, and the longer they hold him, i want to assume that it's not going to work in his favor. >> reporter: alfons a's friend describes her as a caring mother. >> she's a great mom and a great person. i can't believe this. >> reporter: abumasu told the ap more people from oregon countries will be abducted. secretary of state hillary clinton in egypt to meet the new president did not address

the kidnappings. the u.s. embassy says it's working with the egyptian authorities to make sure the americans are released safely. >> recently, several other tourists have been held briefly by tribesmen and released unharmed. it's been six months, and now family and friends remembering those lost in the costa concordia disaster on the coast of italy. 32 people were killed in the crash. a judge lifted the captain's house arrest, but says he must remain in his hometown while the criminal investigation continues. mitt romney continues defending his time at bain capital. aaron andrews was the campaign 2012 report. >> reporter: campaigning in richmond, the president heated

things up on the issue of outsourcing. >> i don't want a pioneer in outsourcing. i want some insourcing. i want to bring companies back. >> oh beautiful for spaish skies. >> reporter: the president's campaign also issued a new attack ad, mocking romney's singing, and accusing him of sending ads overseas. the ad drew a tough response from the romney campaign. every day, the statement said, president obama hits a new low. romney relaxed at his lake house with family today, but yesterday, denied the outsourcing claim. in several interviews, including one with jan crawford, romney said he left bain well before it controlled several companies downsizing in america. >> jan, i had no involvement with the management of bain capital after february of 1999. >> reporter: however, bin's public filings repeatedly lists romney as sole shareholder,

but first, political unrest in turkey. police fire tear gas and water cannons at protesters. kurdish members of parliament were caught up in the protests. a very quick-thinking bus driver in china saved her passengers' lives and her own. she felt her arms and legs go numb. the driver remained very calm, actually pulled the bus over and told all the passengers to get off, and she was sent to the hospital, said to be okay. shark hunters off cape cod have a very close encounter with the great white. this industry owe shows the shark lungeing out of the water. police are seeing more of these sharks around the cape than ever before. they had a record 11 just

>> some rain during the morning hours, but it held off for the rest of the day. still some showers and thunderstorms out there. they're coming in from the west. these are scattered about. they're not moving very quickly. if you're not underneath one of these, there's no rain. we haven't seen much rain, but some of these will hold on and bring us showers tomorrow morning. this is what we're dealing with most of the afternoon after that morning rain, just a couple of showers and thunderstorms out there, like we said, just scattered about. we may see some fog form overnight. 76 degrees is where we sit right now. a very mild night out there. we did manage a high of 84, but that's it. below average. however, after all of this clears one those temperatures will start climb and we'll be way above average, close tore those records in the middle part of the week. here's how we open it up.

you can see this huge plume continue to come out of the south, and that's moving our way. taste there's a chance again tomorrow afternoon for only thunderstorms. it's the con vision of fronts. one's off to our west, and here we have this cold front. on monday, this cold front drags to the north, and it keeps the chance for showers and thunderstorms around again on monday. that will draw the heat our way from the south, and that's when numbers start jumping. it's not as dramatic yet, but they're already starting to build. still a lot of 70s out there, because but as we head through the week, that will get town the 100s. the forecast looks like this. on the waters, pretty light winds tomorrow afternoon. southwest winds of 5 to 10
