crofton tonight. meghan? >> reporter: police gathered here outside of this crofton apartment complex. what the s.w.a.t. team found inside was a surprise, even to them. behind these doors, police say they found an arsenal of weapons, the guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition inside the apartment of 28-year-old neil prescott. >> we take all threats seriously. if you make a threat, we will take action. >> reporter: prescott made threatening phone calls in prince george's county saying, i'm a joker, i'm going to load my guns. it set off an alarm bell for police following the theater massacre in colorado. police came to talk to him and he answered the door in a very disturbing t-shirt. >> the individual was wearing a t-shirt that said "guns don't

kill people. i do." >> reporter: they had a search warrant at his apartment and the neighbors evacuated, finding 25 weapons including semiautomatic weapons and rifles. >> i think we were surprised by the weapons in the residence. >> reporter: he was fired from his job when he threatened the mass shooting. >> we thwarted serious violence that could have taken lives. >> reporter: they've taken prescott without incident. they're considering filing state and federal charges against prescott. he's in the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. i'm meghan mccorkell, wjz eyewitness news. >> thank you, meghan. the only other thing they found was a speeding ticket. >> complete coverage continues now with jessica kartalija and

>> you can get kids flying through the air and don't care who they're shooting at. >> reporter: i'm jessica kartalija, wjz eyewitness news. >> here's what we know about the shooting plot. 23-year-old neil prescott threatened to shoot up his place and found more than 20 guns and undergoing mental evaluation and charges are pending. we'll keep you updated as new information emerges. a clear picture of the man accused in the colorado shooting. james holmes was seeing a psychiatrist while attending the university of colorado. there was a notebook addressed to the doctor. in it, the 24-year-old reportedly described what he was planning. holmes is expected to be arraigned on 12 counts of murder monday. police are flooded with

powerful painkiller and exposed patients to the virus. it's called drug aversion. he contaminated the syringe and then injected into the patient passing on the virus. the parents say he took a lot of prescription drugs and worried about behavior that was unusual. >> observed him sweating, observed him red-faced, bloodshot and according to one witness, unfit to provide medical care. >> once infected, the virus travels through the bloodstream and infects the liver. it can damage or shut down normal liver function. >> how did they let it happen? >> he worked in several states including maryland. no one is known to be infected here. he wrote a suicide note the

mark viviano is here with the fan's sport report. >> you think you've seen everything with baseball, but then tonight. orioles were riding high early on in first place, falling off in june and july but through it all, still in playoff contention and what a ride tonight at camden yards. against the oakland a's, the orioles trailed 0-2 and then a three-run homer. 5-0 deficit disappeared. it's a 6-5 orioles lead in the fifth inning. then 8th inning, chris delivers. in comes the go ahead. 9-8o's. crowd goes wild, just finishing now. closer jim johnson to get the out. oakland scored six times in a disastrous ninth inning and up and down night ends with a crash.
