new serious charges for the maryland man accused of threatening to shoot up his workplace. >> i believe that this is insufficient. he ought to be facing felony charges. >> prosecutors call for new, harsher laws. >> i'm vick carter. -- i'm vic carter. that man faces a misdemeanor charge, a charge that even law enforcement isn't enough. megan explains. >> reporter: neil prescott is facing misios of telephone --

misuse of telephone equipment charges. that's because there are no misdemeanor charges for making a threat over the telephone. >> reporter: an arsenal of weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition found inside the apartment of neil prescott. police searched his home after they say he calmed his boss and said, i am a joker. i'm going to blow everybody up. with the movie theater shooting in colorado, that set off alarms. >> we believe a tragedy was averted. >> reporter: but prescott can only be charged with a misdemeanor. >> the state law of maryland does not make it a felony, and does not make it a crime to communicate a threat. i believe this is insufficient, especially in light of mr. prescott's alleged threatening statement. >> reporter: prescott will be band from buying anymore guns

20 years behind bars. a judge found a law unconstitutional and ordered the state to allow more people to buy guns. more trouble from jamal lewis. the 32-year-old is charged with failing to pay child support, a misdemeanor. lewis filed for bankruptcy in april, saying he was more than $10 million in debt. the ravens are scheduled to induct lewis into the team's ring of honor in september. same-sex marriage opponents show they support for chick-fil- a. a big meal takes on new meaning during chick-fil-a appreciation day. >> reporter: it's chicken and fries with a side of politics. some people are flocking to chick-fil-a for the food, others to make a statement.

a 28-foot rv crashed and landed in the pool. a driver suffered a health problem and accidentally crashed into the pool. in texas, a dramatic crash is caught on tape, this unsuspecting convenience store clerk is knocked backwards in a shower of glass and metal when a car crashed through the front window. police say the driver was under the influence when she mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake. a fast-moving wildfire in southern california has already destroyed a home and is threatening others. over 200 firefighters and several water-dropping aircraft are battling that blaze right now. they expect to have it fully contained by tomorrow night. the murder trial of former chicago police officer drew peterson is on the brink of a

mistrial. he's charged with killing his third wife in 2004. defense attorneys were furious when a witness said that he may have put a bullet in his driveway to intimidate him. a survivor of the movie theater tragedy in colorado is now talking. >> reporter: petra anderson's recovery is nothing short of amazing. the musician is walking and discussing her plans to attend the university of maryland for graduate school this fall. her family expects a full recovery. >> she's just so amazing. she's so determined. >> reporter: petra was shot four times. one bullet struck the part of her brain controlling speech

right now, most areas have very little wind. we'll probably see some fog forming in some areas, particularly where it did wind. we will have warmer and humid air. as this air move to the east, the warm and humid air will come right back. and on saturday and sunday, a risk of more thunderstorm activity. any of those storms could have heavy downpours. to the west tonight, some pretty clear conditions. a lot of shower activity in virginia dying out. we have a generally fair night on tap. tomorrow looks like a warmer day with a lot of sun. the tropical depression in the tropics hasn't changed. the only change so far is a little bit of weakening. it's heading to the west-
