wrote the songs, like it would be hard for another person to do that song, because that song was done for that particular group, like a suit. whitehead: what makes a great song is a great lyric, a great title and a great beat, you know, they put it together. mcfadden: and the feeling that's inside, you can't just say to yourself, "i'm going to write a song," it don't work like that. a song has to come to you. it's like a door opens in your mind and that song comes out. if you sit down and say "you know what i'm going to do, i'm a write a song today." you might write a song. whitehead: but you ain't going to write a song. mcfadden: you're not writing, you're not writing a song, song, you know what i mean? but it just comes, we can't tell you no formula, as many songs as we wrote, we cannot tell you, alright sit down and, it don't go like that, it just happens. diane bliss: in the years before there were all kinds of new precedents that pbs set in its programs, and as a result now there are cooking channels and nature channels, travel channels all because the ideas were

and we go off stage and the people saying, "have you seen her, have you seen her!" we went and said, "look ya'll just play the vamp man, play the vamp, do, just play something! play anything!" so we went out, we went back out on the stage and we sang the chorus, "do do doot, doot, doot, doot, do do, doot, doot, do," we started singing that we sang it for ten minutes they kept us on stage, for almost fifteen minutes singing that one part and that satisfied the whole place. tj lubinsky: your pledge makes the preservation of classic soul music possible on pbs. call right now with your support and thank you if you've already done so. we return now on stage to borgata. ♪ oh, girl ♪ ♪ bin trouble if youeft me now ♪
