tension continues to rise over the threat of a nuclear launch. hello, again. i'm jessica kartalija. here's what people are talking about today. today is a national holiday in north korea. the u.s. and its allies are concerned that celebration could come with a missile test. secretary of state john kerry is wrapping up a trip and continues to call for negotiations. >> hundreds of north koreans laid flowers outside the tumb of their founder. neighboring countries believe that celebration may include a missile test. both japan and south korea are preparing its defense systems. >> this is dangerous. it's provaktive. >> second retary of state, john kerry, just wrapped up a trip to the region. he said even if kim jong-un tests a missile he's

still prepared to sit down at the negotiating table. >> if we will meet the obligation that is we have all set out that is necessary, stopping the provocation, seizing the threats, moving away from nuclearization, we are prepared to negotiate. >> but north korea rejected an invitation from the south for peace talks. >> the problem is with this new and unpredictable north korean leadership, we don't know what they want. >> secretary kerry believes china is not happen with its north korea allies. he said u.s. leaders will meet with the chinese with the goal of persuading kim jong-un to end his nuclear program. >> chinese leaders insist the only way to convince north korea is with peaceful talks about negotiations. senators working on a bill to over haul the nation's immigration system believe they could introduce the legislation tomorrow. republican senator

marco rubio said it will provide a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants. he said it will not be amnesty. the search continues for the driver who hit two teenagers in pasadena and fled the scene. a 15-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were seriously hurt when a suv hit them. police say they might be looking for a ford expedition. flags fly at half staff across maryland today honoring a army helicopter pilot killed in afghanistan. ron matz is live in the news room with more on how she will be honored today. >> reporter: the 27-year-old army pilot is being buried tot.

nutson was a helicopter pilot who died in afghanistan in march. she had just gotten married last year to a former army pilot. she will be buried with full honors today at arlington national cemetery. >> thank you. she was a 2007 wooes poirnt west point grad and a 2003 graduate of liberty high school. the deadline is today for filing annual income taxes with the irs. 97 million american taxpayers had already submitted their tax forms by the first of the month. a spring snowstorm is wreaking havoc on parts of the country this afternoon. the national weather service says there are white out conditions with no visibility for drivers causing many accidents. the form dropped a foot of snow over the area of minnesota before heading east.

you. there's a big push of mild air coming up the 95 corridor. a week ago wednesday we got to 90. that's not going to happen again. 80 is within sight. take a look at that bubble of milder air over the southern states, east texas, the florida peninsula, that's going to be moving our way. more days than not over the next 5 days we will be potentially 10 degrees above normal. what's bringing it to us? what's the cause and effect going to be other than a lot of smiles and spring fever? meteorologist chelsea ingram with those details coming up shortly. now back inside. >> thank you. bge is warning customers to be on the look out for a new telephone scam. two dozen customers have gotten a phone call from someone pretending to be a rep. the scammer tells people if they prepay they bill they can get a prepaid visa card. anyone who gets a similar

it's mostly cloudy and 60 degrees in central maryland. your complete first warning weather forecast is coming up. a string of car bombs and attack in iraq leaves 20 people dead, 200 wounded. the attacks were spread across five days and come days before a crucial election. no one has claimed responsibility for the attacks. the elections are supposed to take place in 5 days. the violence could skew the results. the supreme court is hear ing two sides of the case. the question is, can a human gene be patented? danielle nottingham has the latest for wjz from the supreme court. >> the company myriad genetics argued that its patent on the human genes is valid. the genes can show if a person has a

greatest chance of breast or ovarian cancer. opponents argue that genes are part of nature and no one has the right to patent a part of the human body. it also blocks other testing that could have life saving cancer break throughs. >> they could have other patents. myriad and other biotech companies argue that it's not a part of nature. >> what's being patented are dna sequences that are isolated away from nature, manipulated in a laboratory and then used in an industry type of manner. >> opponents are complaining that myriad is not allowing patients to get second opinions on its test results. kathleen said she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after a myriad

test showed women in her family did not have the gene. >> they were the only game in town to go to. the product wasn't what they advertised it to be. it wasn't a comprehensive test. i have cancer because of it. >> the supreme court's ruling is expected in june. at the supreme court, danielle nottingham. >> critics say myriad charges $3,000 to test for the gene when it should cost less than $200. the results are in but the loser is already calling for a recount after the presidential election in venezuela. nicholas madero who was hand picked by chavez has defeated the challenger. madero was chavez's vice president and has been running the country since the late president's death. he won with slightly more than 50% of the vote. madero said he's okay

in easton, 53 in elkton. the winds have been picking up too through out the day. we were around 5 miles per hour earlier. now 10 miles an hour in the baltimore area, 6 in washington, 7 at pax river. we're going to have the winds switch directions significantly. that's going to brings warmer air into the next couple of days. that warm air will be coming out of the south. now, on satellite and radar, we've got a couple of things going on, a couple systems we have been looking at. one out towards the gulf. that's going to help to bring us up more precipitation through out the day or at least chances for precipitation. another system out towards our west, as that heads across the region that's going to bring us the chance for afternoon showers, even a thunderstorm as we head into your wednesday. this is how it is all going to play out monday through wednesday. this area of low pressure is going to push east. we're going to see a few ripples of energy run along that
