residents to suddenly get sick. good afternoon. i'm don scott. >> i'm johns -- i'm jessica kartalija. . paramedics being called to a home in parkville and the second time they ordered everyone out. mike schuh is live with the latest on this. good afternoon, mike. >> reporter: good afternoon. a total of 8 people were taken to the hospital, 4 patients, 4 staff. the assistant executive director of the agency this runs this home says she wants to find out what happened as well. >> the windows are open but the front door warns of danger. here at midnight a person is found unconscious. >> treated the patient and transported. >> after that first unconscious patient was removed the fire department left. an hour later, another call. >> this is a group home for those with mental disabilities. 6 were found to be in need of the hyerbaric chambers. >> i went to the hospital and

saw everybody. >> how are they doing? >> doing well. >> i understand they have disabilities. >> yes. >> did they understand what happened? >> probably not. >> the number 2 at the agency which runs the home praises her staff, firefighters and er nurses who saw it to it those worse off went to shock trauma. >> i have nothing but respect for the folks at the hospital. >> air samples showed high carbon monoxide levels. since it's not the heating season they're looking for other causes. >> sometimes you can mix two household chemicals, sometimes a chemical can be knocked over, exposed with water. >> that explanation stumps the vp as she said due to the mental capabilities of the patients they keep few chemicals at the home, a home that's new closed as air samples are being analyzed. >> reporter: the agency has 17

rape charges and if convicted could spend the rest of his life in prison. >> thank you. experts are now surprised the yg young girl knew her killer. they say that's what happens in 90% of all child sex abuse case as. the body of an adult male was recovered from big gunpowder falls yesterday. it is 26-year-old daniel dieman from parkville who was kayaking with a friend, fell off into the water and never resurfaced. jury selection is underway in the trial of an off duty officer charged with killing a teenager. james laboard is accused in the death of 17-year-old christopher brown. last june laboard allegedly chased brown and a group of teens after they threw rocks at his front door. brown died after asphyxiation after a struggle with laboard. he faces two counts of manslaughter but maintains his innocence. world leaders are gathering

in northern ireland for another g8 summit. this is just as word comes out from edward snowden the u.s. supplied at a similar session 4 years ago. here is tara mergener with the latest for wjz. >> president obama and david cameron visited a school where student are learning about the g8 summit. soon the president and his counter parts turned their attention to the global economy. >> i'm pleased to join these leaders to announce the launch of negotiations on a new trade agreement. >> the economy is not the only topic at the g8. the civil war in syria is expected to dominate talks, including president obama's meeting with russian president vladimir putin. putin opposes president obama's plan to give military assistance to rebel forces, calling the fighters barbarians.

another week. already there's villages with water. forecasters say in the the 4 month raining season it shouldn't be worse than other years, it's just starting sooner than expected. firefighters are gaining grounds on the wild fires in colorado. the black forest blaze is now 65% contained thanks to the help of rain. some evacwees have been allowed back into see their homes and some to move back in. people closer to the burn area for only allowed in for a few minutes to retrieve belongings. that fire has burned 22 square miles, claimed 500 houses and killed 2 people. there's increased police presence in some of the new york neighborhoods ravaged by super storm sandy. that's proximate cause break ins are on the rise. 8 homes have been ransacked for copper pipes. that caused homes to flood just weeks before they would have been livable again. police say they'll be focusing on the areas with the most vacant homes. in south africa doctors say
