it's mostly sunny and 66 in central maryland. a pilot is seriously hurt in a plane crash in texas. it happened at the wallard county airport near brookshire. the pilot was sent to the hospital. police say he was the only person in the plane. the cause is under investigation. in up state new york dozens of people volunteer to clean up the home of an nfl player after it's trashed by partying teens.

these photos were taken over the weekend at bryan holloway's home. several teens broke into the home, had a wild party and posted pictures on twitter and facebook. the president is calling for stricter gun control laws. the national rifle association said that's not the answer. pamela brown has the story. >> president obama giving a passionate ulogy for the victims and calling for a transformation of america's gun laws. >> i'm asking what can we do to prevent them from happening again and again and again? >> earlier in the day nra president wayne laf ie r appeared on meet the press.

welcome back. temperatures still on the cool side out there. we are below normal for this time of year. normal is 75 degrees. we're only at 66 degrees in central maryland. even 50 degrees in oak land. higher elevations cooler temperatures. dew point at 41 degrees. humidity is way down. it's going to stay down for the next couple of days locally. temperatures mainly in the mid 60s out there. with the exception of washington around 68 degrees.

all courtesy of a northwest wind. so that's pulling in those cooler temperatures and that dry air. this wind associated with this area of high pressure, i'll show you that here on the big picture of satellite and radar. it's the area of clear, dry air. that's going to control cast control our -- control our forecast. we've got several dry days, good time for out door activity. high pressure still continues to dominate the forecast. temperatures will eventually reach seasonal norms into tomorrow and wednesday. bay temperature at 73. that's closer to our seasonal norms. winds out of the north and 10 knots. here is what you can expect tonight. a chilly one. already using that aga tshgs etive. patchy fog for the next couple

stage. i talked to him about why he was so emotional. here's what he had to say. >> how does it feel? >> this is the most dream-like trip i've had here. i'll be honest. i just felt like one boy only deserves so much good fortunate in a weird way. do you know what i mean? the numbers game alone just to be invited here is just, i don't know,really touching. >> so very deserving. having won like three of the past four years, that's what he means that he deserves that much luck. he just said he was overwhelmed because of the moment and not realizing he would win again. >> a lot of talk about michael douglas last night. >> yeah. he arrived on the red carpet without catherine jones. i asked him for an update on their relationship. he was very open on where they are. take a listen to that. >> how are you holding up with everything that's been going on? >> well, we're fine.

it is 4:30, 66 degrees and sunny in central maryland. thanks for staying with eyewitness news. i'm denise koch. >> i'm vic carter. the political drum sweet beat is building for a hill clinton candidacy for the white house. polls show she's the leading contender for the democratic nomination. >> in her first interview since leaving the state department hilary clinton admitted what everyone has suspected all along. as she wrestles with the idea of running in 2016 she said, i do. i'm pragmatic and realistic. she gave herself a way out telling new york magazine, i'll do whatever i can from the position i find myself in to advocate for the values and policies i think are right for the country.

>> privately people in her inner circle think a campaign is inevitable. they are working on the assumption she's running again. joe hagan quoted a long time clinton friend as say, she's doing a very clinton thing. in her mind she's running for it. she's also convinced herself she hasn't made up her mind. >> she's a savvy politician. she's been coy about it in telling people to back off a little bit. meanwhile, people in her staff are putting the foot on the gas. >> bill clinton tried to slow it down more saying sunday his wife's decision was a long way ahead. >> i think she would be the first to tell you there's no such thing as a done deal. i don't know what she's going to do. >> there's indications governor o'malley will run for the nomination in 2016. death penalty protocol.

lawyers for boston suspect tsarnaev are in court today. kai is live in the news room with more. >> reporter: his attorneys are trying to get the death penalties taken off the table. he faces federal capital charges in the bombings that killed 3 people and left more than 200 hurt. his lawyers said they have not received key evidence and have not had enough time to submit a proposal. he's been held at a federal prison in boston. vic. >> thank you. u.s. attorney general eric holder will have the ultimate say on whether to seek the death penalty. just days after a mass shooting in chicago injuries 13 people, including a toddler is considering bringing in the national guard. there was a surprising sign of hope this weekend. >> the assault rifle shooting in the park of 3-year-old deonte

howard and three others is an example of how bad chicago's problem with gang violence can be. saturday there was this example of hope, rival gangs together playing basketball. >> you bring everybody else, work as a team, establish our goals and move on. leave all the shooting and the gang banging for the streets. >> called the peace tournament, it included nba star eric rose and isaiah thomas, both chicago natives all pushing for peace. the event is run by father flagger. >> i want to just balance it. there's this wonderful thing of peace on saturday. >> how to find that balance is the problem. illinois's governor is suggesting bringing in the national guard. >> at some point they're going to have to leave and then what? you're still left with the same

plane is a challenge. but for the price family it's even more difficult. their youngest child, calem has autism. the 4-year-old has never been on a plane. he often acts out this many unfamiliar settings, especially when there's a lot of noise and activity. >> being out in public and doing things with him a very difficult. >> the price's and 100 other family with autistic children are getting a chance to practice the entire travel experience. >> welcome to jetblue. >> jetblue airways and autism speaks sponsored a flight training program at new york's jfk airport. families lined up for check in, boarded a real aircraft and taxied around the airport. >> this is an environment where everyone has been trained and they're supportive. >> parents of children with autism say one of the toughest parts of the travel experience is the time before take off when electronic devices must be turned off. >> now we're taking away his

66 elkton, 67 ocean city, 50 oakland. the dew points down to 41. that means it's going to get chilly tonight. this morning we were in the low 50s. some 40s to the west of us. 56 over in dc. we have a chilly night tonight. the next several days just beautiful, nice weather. this is going to last all week long. there's essentially no rain coming, at least through the weekend. we need more rain, even though we had a grade school on saturday. how is the commute so far? let's check in on the roads with parker shane. >> thanks. things moving along reasonable s afternoon. you can see on the topside inner loop heading to the north side you're going to see slow traffic from pikesville over to harford road. speeds only 15 miles an hour below where they should be. on the southwest side inner loop delays from i-70. outer loop some delays from approaching 70

down towards 95. over to the left of the screen on westbound 70 your typical delays into ellicott city starting at 29. we had a report of a disabled vehicle at the tunnel but that's cleared. 100 eastbound at route 2 you can see some delays now heading all the way back to 295, the bw parkway. that accident is in the clearing stage. a new accident in the towson and luthersville area, york road at green meadow. let's go to that lye shot of the beltway at 70. the inner loop is actually looking better than it did a few minutes ago. this traffic report is brought to you by your local zip's dry cleaner.
