46 degrees at bwi marshall. 34 degrees in oakland. 50s in southern maryland. dewpoint up to 35 degrees. check out the cool air located in northwestern canada. that will make it down our way but not until about tuesday night or wednesday morning. for today high-pressure in control. a high road 64 degrees. mostly clear skies. by the evening 51 degrees. >> thank you. more in our first warning weather forecast in just a minute. first, here's a look at the stories people are talking about. five people dead in a crash near the maryland pennsylvania border. the crash happened in washington township yesterday afternoon. investigators say two motorcycles collided head on with the suv killing four people on the motorcycle and one person an suv. the accident was so bad the

counters were called to the scene. no longer on the lam. to convict her workers mistakenly freed from a florida prison are back behind bars. >> reporter: police found joseph jenkins and charles walker at a hotel in panama city, florida just a hundred miles from the president they escaped from. >> we want you to surrender yourself to someone you trust who will bring you back in safely. >> the two men serving life sentences for separate murders but both were allowed to leave the prison after officials received forged court papers ordering their release. jenkins family picked him up. >> they took him first to his grandmother's house was totally

elated. we then took him to his mother's house. >> amazingly, earlier this month both men follow florida law and returned to a jail to register as freed felons. corrections officers took these mugshots, fingerprinted them, and watched them walk out the door. jenkins and walker were on the run. the state of florida is the revealing -- reviewing all files. >> florida has changed his early release program. the sentencing judge has to verify every relief order signed. city homicide detectives investigating a fatal shooting in the southwest section of baltimore just after 9:30 last night. police rushed to the three and block off franklin town road. they found a 2002 chrysler pt cruiser on the sidewalk. inside that vehicle was a female adult with multiple gunshot

wounds. she died before doctors could help. the tech tips say anyone with information should give them a call. the search is on for three next man accused of robbing and beating an elderly couple in anne arundel county. >> reporter: the victims of a terrifying attack. now they are telling their story to wjz. >> they started beating me up. the 87-year-old still can't believe what happened. he says three intruders broke into the rear of his home and brutally beat him and his girlfriend. >> they said, shut your mouth. they told me they would help lay down. all of a sudden he hit me again. >> anne arundel county police are hunting for the assailants.

pricing is just off dorsey road. the attack has left all for and is 73-year-old girlfriend shaking. it was just terrifying. just terrifying. >> the three suspects fled in an unknown correction. all over was able to make it across the street to a neighbor who called 911. >> i hope they catch him. we don't need people like this around in this world. we go to church and everything and live for the lord. if they get the love of god in their heart, they wouldn't to things like this. >> he needed eight stitches to close a won't in his four head. this incident does not appear to be a random attack and the victims were targeted. no back to you. >> a member of the community has come forward to donate a new tv to the victims. police will also help install it.

we now know the name of the man that shot to death along orleans street last week. police in northeast baltimore say someone shot palmist harder friday night. it happened just after 6:00. police say an unknown target center -- an unknown man shot him. he was 22 years old. a traffic stop turns deadly. no police are investigating. it happened saturday morning. an officer pulled over the vehicle was suspended takes on group one near the exit to route 100 west. police say hakeem mohammad also give false information about his identity. that's when officers arrested him. soon after he complained of not feeling well and went into cardiac arrest. police say they have ordered an autopsy in this case.

a big loss for baltimore. a popular restaurant owner has passed away. look at his life and career. >> reporter: good morning. edward eddie owns several north baltimore restaurants during his career, but his most successful was the fire -- was the southern inspired. ms. shirley's, a successful restaurant chain. saturday he passed away. he died after a battle with leukemia. he was 61 years old. the mayor released a statement saying in part, my heart aches at hearing the news of eddie's passing. this shirley's cafe is a baltimore landmark. talkin name: mark after an employee and personal friend. two years ago wjz talk to him about competing to be on the food network the great food truck race. >> there's lots of positive things about being in baltimore.

>> .-dot-dot .-dot-dot kids name was well-known around baltimore. other restaurants owned included roland park bagel company. his mouthwatering dishes through long lines and his legacy lives on through the food he loves to make. >> he opened this shirley's in 2005 that now at the locations. back to you. >> he will be missed. funeral services are set for monday afternoon. maryland state police are reminding drivers to move over. this after a trooper was struck and critically wounded well helping other drivers on the side of the road recently. the states move over law requires drivers to move into a lame away from emergency vehicles. drivers are supposed to slow down if they pass an accident scene.

in sports, the stage is set for 2013 world series. late last night boston red sox clinched the american league championship in game six against the detroit tigers. they'll meet up with the st. louis cardinals wednesday for game one of the series. the cards and the red sox have met three times in the world series. and it is always one of the biggest games on the ravens schedule matter what our teams record. today is the showdown. mark viviano has more on what to watch for in pittsburgh. >> reporter: baltimore hates big ben, but the ravens players respect him. i am mark viviano. but they are saying about the steelers quarterback coming ,,r we come back. it into the ravens and steelers this afternoon live right here on

wjz-13. yesterday was -- well, it rained. >> a little bit of rain, a lot of cloud cover. i walked outside and i was like, it rained. >> beautiful, mostly clear. sunny today. sunny up in pittsburgh as well for the game. take a look live outside. boy does it look great. a nice crisp autumn morning out there. temperatures sitting in the 40s. take a look at our current across the region. around 46 degrees at bwi marshall. 30s in western maryland. a couple 50s in southern maryland. dewpoint at 35 degrees. that humidity has gotten a lot lower through other day today. locally seeing temperatures anywhere from 40s to 50s. winds shifting about west thanks to

a cold front that protestant rain and cloud cover yesterday. didn't really change our temperatures who much. we are very seasonable for this time of year. winds a little on the breezy side for baltimore and dc. the big picture on satellite and radar showing that cold front moved through. now it is starting to push off into the canadian maritime. behind it we see an area of the year, dry air. that's associated with high-pressure. so here's how things will play out. high-pressure brings us plenty of sunshine, then we keep a close eye on the cold front had from north western canada and the great lakes. that will bring us a chilly air mass for this time of year. we see lows dip into the 30s for a lot of us and then high temperatures only making it into the mid-50s. it is this dip in the jetstream that's going to bring those cool temperatures and usher them right into our neighborhood along with that cold front it moves

>> good morning again. thanks for joining us. i am meteorologist chelsea ingram. it's 46 degrees outside right now in central maryland with mostly sunny skies out there. a very beautiful start to the day. plenty of sunshine through the afternoon. take a look at our current temperatures. some spots in the 50s already including dcn patuxent. humidity a lot lower than it was yesterday. i weather -- here's what you can expect. mostly sunny skies. highs around 64 degrees. >> shall be back with the first full forecast in a minute. first, ravens fans gearing up for one of the biggest games of the season. the town is painted purple. today is the showdown. sports director mark viviano explains what the ravens need to focus on in sports.

>> reporter: good morning. for about a decade now the ravens and steelers rivalry has had the label baltimore against big ben. he made his nfl debut against the ravens back in 2004. he lost that game but he's beat the ravens many times since. he didn't play against the ravens at all last season, missed both games with shoulder and rib injuries, but he is back to help them deal with ravens at heinz field today. it's been a rough season for ben and the steelers. he's been sacked 18 times in five games in pittsburgh has just one win so far. still, the ravens defense says they respect the opposing quarterback. >> he's very tough to bring down. he's always looking to make a play downfield, especially now. the guys won two super bowls. that speaks for itself. >> he's gifted. he can run around.

we've got our hands full. we had to make sure we have a good week of preparation. >> ravens quarterback has faced steelers 12 times, including a couple playoff games. the ravens have five wins and seven defeats in the series. the ravens will not have linebacker josh bynes today. he's out after surgery on an infected finger, but linebacker jameel mcclain is listed as probable. if you just play, it will be his first game since he suffered a spinal cord injury in december of nal cord injury in december last year. read ravens are 3-3. pittsburgh with a record of 1- 4. highlights in reaction tonight at 11:00. >> you can see the ravens and the steelers this afternoon at 4:15 live right here. nice weather even in pittsburgh. >> mostly sunny skies. temps around 56 degrees, so some very good football weather.

let's take a look at the stories people are talking about this morning. five people are dead in a crash near the maryland pennsylvania border. they're crash between two motorcycles and an suv in washington township yesterday afternoon. two motorcycles traveling in one direction collided head-on with an suv killing four people on the motorcycle and one person in the suv. that accident was so bad grief were sent to the scene. the road was shut down for about five hours. surprising developments in the case of the 12-year-old florida girl who took her own life after being bullied online. the stepmother of one of the accused girls is now under arrest. >> reporter: a florida judge read the charges against is in foster, including child abuse because of this recently discovered video from july. authorities say she viciously beat two young boys when she cut them fighting in her home. other children can be heard laughing and swearing the background. after the ordeal, one boy remained motionless on the ground.

>> after we showed her the video about how she at least hit this one kid 10 times in the back and in the head with her fist and she admitted, well, i did go too far that day. >> police on the video online home investigating the suicide of her back upset with. she jumps off a tower at the cement factory after being cyber bullied for almost a year. two students were charged in the case, when is the stepdaughter of lindsay and prosper. >> the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. >> after her child's arrest, she told reporters she doesn't allow her children to bully and monitors their social media. but if this is video on one of her kids facebook page. >> the sheriffs of the children in the video from july are fine. cases under supervision of the florida department of children

and family. two convicted murderers back behind bars after being released from prison in florida with phony documents. u.s. marshals caught up with joseph jenkins and charles walker at a motel in panama city beach. the men are expected to appear in court later today. police say walker and jenkins who are both 34 years old have forged motions to reduce their sentences. they also used those court orders granting request for early release. remembering the fallen. baltimore fire department honors the firefighters who died in the line of duty. this ceremony also recognized firefighters show bravery in the face of all blaze. >> reporter: a single flag hoisted high in memory of city firefighters lost over the last year. this ceremony at the war memorial building in baltimore marks the occasion. >> he lived and he breezed talking about this.

>> silas grant died last year. he was injured several times during his fire career but before retiring in 1978, grant was a trailblazer in that department engine 13. >> one of the first classes of african-americans when he came on. when i was a young kid, i would come and watch them at the station. it made an impact upon me. >> a total of 52 firefighters honored this weekend at the memorial service. none died while on duty. in the last year the city has not lost any firefighters while battling blazes. that is a badge of honor for many here. >> we do have a firefighter killed, we look at that and say why. she >> and shortly after the memorial service, the city hosted it's metal state to recognize top firefighters in the department. several people in the hospital after a crash in howard county. it happened yesterday morning

along route 1. police say the crash involved five cars. medics rushed the seven people to the hospital, two of them with life-threatening injuries. no word yet on what caused the chain reaction crash. the father of edward snowden is back on u.s. soil. edward snowden has been forced into seclusion after leaking classified information about a secret u.s. government surveillance program. this was the first time his father spent time with him. he talked about the trip saying that he stands by his son and defends his loyalty to the u.s. >> my son would die before he would sell secrets to a foreign government that would harm his country. i know that for a fact. >> loni snowden also said his son has no regrets: the whistleblower and not a fugitive. he also advised his son to stay

in russia and said that he plans to visit him again very soon. the new jersey supreme court upholds a state judge's ruling on same-sex marriage. the court decision means that same-sex couples can legally start tying the knot as soon as tomorrow. cities and towns profit state added extra hours this weekend. the clock is ticking if you need a book -- if you need to book a flight for the thanksgiving holiday. according to travelocity, thanksgiving airfares are up 7% from last year, an average price of $415 round trip. travel experts say you'll pay a very high price if you haven't booked already. traveling on thanksgiving day or coming back on saturday could save you some cash. ravens fans are driving up to pittsburgh today to see one of the biggest games on the schedule.

if you are going up to pittsburgh today, i take a jacket with you. temperatures only in the 50s. beautiful day. take a live look outside. plenty of sunshine right now. that's what we see as we head into the afternoon. take a look at current temperatures across the region. still sitting in the 40s. 46 degrees. 34 and some 50s on the map, including dc, patuxent, as well as easton. so we're less humid than we were yesterday and locally same temperatures anywhere from the mid-40s all the way up to around 50 degrees in some spots. winds coming out of the west. that is filtering in drier air and that means we see plenty of sunshine throughout the day. satellite and radar showing that cold front. that's the theory of clouds and

precipitation. that is high-pressure. again, a very nice and seasonal day on tap for today. you see a cold front traveling from north western canada and than the great lakes. that will bring us a fairly chilly air mass. the caps off temperature about 10 degrees. lows in the 30s in some spots and highs only in the 50s for several days. that's all thanks to the jetstream dipping down significantly pulling in a lot of that cold air. again, that sticking around for a couple days. they temperature at 65 degrees. we've got a small crafted by 3 affect. here is what you can expect. mostly sunny and seasonable. temperatures around 64 degrees. unfortunate, 42 and clear. average is 44. you may even get to see a meteor or

executive chef oliver becker at the four seasons. you are carving pumpkins. >> absolutely. we have a pumpkin carving contest with our staff. we judge them. we have some great prizes. i think everybody can carbonize pumpkin. by sunday that one last night. he is 10, so he can do it, you can do it. >> that's impressive. >> i helped him a little bit. having a dad as a chef, you pretty good with a knife. first, you want to pick the right pumpkin. i think there are some great pumpkins out there. definitely inexpensive. a pumpkin is easy to carve, much easier than what because it's softer but still firm enough to hold the shape. first, we want to design a pattern. on the piece of paper, you draw the face you want on your pumpkin.

so those are the eyes. we cut them out, and then attach the paper to the pumpkin and copy it over. >> so do the outline. >> and then there is some great pumpkin carving kits out there. they're fairly inexpensive. for me as a chef, a little vegetable knife does the trick. >> you don't need some big carving knife. >> especially the broad strokes, sharp knife works perfect. >> do you clean this out first? >> i prefer it carve first and then cut around like here and then you can enter your candle. be careful. make sure it's off when you go in at night. a little more detail. you can check out the seeds and
