fire shortly before school starletted. officers say he killed a teacher and shot two other students. >> one has gone to surgery and is out at this time. the other individual is doing well. >> reporter: the suspect is also dead. police say they have nearly 30 witnesses to interview and video to review. but that it appears the teacher was shot and killed trying to intervene and stop the shooter. >> as you can imagine, the best description is chaos. it's too early to say whether or not he was targeting specific people or going on an indiscriminate shooting. >> reporter: students from both the middle school and a neighboring elementary campus evacuated to a near by high school where rattled parents reunited with them. >> i want to say how tragic this is and how saddened we are. our student safety and staff safety is of up most paramount concern to us.

>> reporter: the school district says it is closing the middle school for a week while the investigation gets under way. >> the yours trulies of the shooter and three other victims are not being released yet. an emergency evacuation is going on after officials start smelling gas. >> bge crews are on the scene investigating and they have turned the gas off in that school. officials have determined that the gas is leaking from a pipe. >> there's no word whether the school will reopen tomorrow. many americans who tried to enroll via the program's website have not been able to.

tara mergener reports from the white house. >> president obama walked into the rose garden with janice baker who says she's the first woman in delaware to enroll for obama care. >> like many other people out there, it was frustrating to sign up for the plan. >> reporter: but only a half million have successfully applied. and the white house won't say how many people have actually been able to select a health insurance plan. >> nobody is madder than me about the fact that the website isn't working as well as it should. which means, it's going to get fixed. >> reporter: the president says it experts are now working on repairs. but he's not giving a target date for when the site will be fully up to speed. software expert bill curter says there's problems throughout the site and it could take weeks or even months to fix. >> this is a system that was

rushed out much too quickly and they didn't have a chance to thoroughly test the system and find all the problems before it went into operation. >> reporter: one change already in the works, users will be able to view plans without first having to fill out applications with huge amounts of personal information. in washington, tara mergener. white house officials are admitting there wasn't enough testing done before the roll out. technology experts have been called in to fix some of these problems. and there were a few scary moments during the president's speech. a woman standing behind him almost fainted. >> there you go, you're okay. i'm right here. i got you. >> reporter: carmela anthony

the clouds increase late tomorrow night and on wednesday morning. that's when we expect to see some rain in the area. 56, 37 on wednesday night. 54 for a high on thursday maybe even colder than that. back from the 30s at night. any of those nights if we have clearer skies and light winds, we could see that first frost in the suburban area. don't expect to see anything in the city for a while. a little milder, 56, 41 with partly cloudy sky to start the weekend. we're going to go below normal beginning on wednesday, vic. the worse brush fire is threatening several communities west of sidney. no massive evacuations have been burning yet. right now more than 10 still are uncontained. the state of emergency has been declared allowing homeowners to leave their homes. trouble at sea for a group of fishermen off the alaskan

coast. the 50 line fishing vessel caught fire sunday morning thanks to a near by ship everyone was able to get out safely. this video was captured by the coast guard. blow up rafts served as flotation devices to move the fisherman from one boat to the other. the coast guard was assisted by a chopper above. witnesses captured the raid of this panama hotel on a cell phone camera. u.s. marshals busted down the door of the room. the two convicted killers were apprehended on saturday after they escaped from a florida prison used forced paper work. charles walker is now facing a slew of new charges. police in greece are still trying to find the parents of a little girl found last week in a gypsy settlement. thousands of people have responded for an appeal. >> reporter: the girl known only as maria is seen playing

in this video with the woman accused of abducting her. police found her during a drug raid in a gypsy community in greece. maria is now believed to be five or 6 years old. authorities became suspicious because the girl looked nothing like who they were supposed to be her parents. the couple told police that the mother gave her to them because she could not care for her. >> the claim is that we never abduct this child. we've just adopted her. >> reporter: police suspect the girl is a victim of child trafficking. but the couple's lawyer says if that were true they would have sold her instead of spending money to care for her. he says they provided this bed, dolls and love and raised the girl since she was a baby. but investigators say maria speaks only a few words of their language.

greek social services are caring for the girl now while investigators pursue thousands of phone and e-mail tips around the world including the united states. in london, alfonso van marsh. wjz news. authoritys in greece say that they are also looking into whether the child was illegally registered to claim government benefits or was being used to beg for money on the streets. a rivalry between the new york jets and new england patriots takes a violent turn when fans come to blows. a man wearing the number 80 jets jersey gets under a scuffle near a concession stand. a woman wearing a patriot shirt pushes him as he then delivers a hard right that connects with her face. police are now investigating, no one was seriously hurt in that fight. shoppers at a florida wal- mart get trapped inside when an

strapped to harley's body when it floated on to the shore. for wallis on the occasion of our engagement from maria. the violin was returned to her after the ship wreck. maria never married. to be fair, other historic violins have gone for more. a rare 1721 stratavarius fetched $16 million. this is one of many titanic art facts including others in hartley to come up for auction. it tells a story that isn't once a romance and tragedy. as remembered in films about the titanic this is believed to be the instrument hartley used to the him near my heart to thee as the band played on and the ship sunk into the ocean. >> the violin is not playable and may never be again. a wife carrying competition, the winner gets a house. the con tes -- contestants competed in a variety of

two men. a strong wind is what caused their boat to capsize. >> we knew our best chance was to stay with the boat. and that not to panic. >> reporter: officials say the men had no radio to call for help. and the one life jacket they had between them drifted away. as the hours passed and the dark of night. the two men turned to their faith. >> we prayed together full scriptures. >> and encouraging each other because we knew, i tell you what that's a life or death struggle out there in the water. >> reporter: their prayers were answered 14 hours later when a boat caught the capsized boat and called for help. >> they were very cold, they were very thankful that we found them. and that we took them in. >> reporter: the men were brought back to dry land safely. cold, wet and a little shaken up from their ordeal. >> i could not imagine being
