6:49 am
bulgarian international gangs are raising it on federal public land on state parks. it's outrageous what they're doing to the environment and most importantly however you feel about smoking marijuana because of using these fertilize rs and pesticides it can be bad for you health to smoke the new marijuana. >> you're saying it's nowhere near as regulated as a normal crop? >> no, not regulated at all. that's the point. even toe bak bacco, which is out lawed is regulated. every other crop is regulated. because the federal government s illegal, it's not regulated. that raises the argument, i'm not here to make the argument, there's plenty of time who don't like marijuana, that it's time to legalize it. as we found out with whisky, if you can't with law enforcement do away with it you've got to bring it under some kind of
6:50 am
regulation. there's plenty of people that argue that it's now the time to do it with marijuana. >> it's real interesting. i kind of -- i remember it was a frontline that runs on cable all the time. it was talking about what's going on in northern california. it started raising a few flags. now hearing you it's quantumed. it's in local politics and everything. >> well, it's grown by leaps and bounds. humble county, which one was considered the marijuana capital it was hippies, the marijuana of your father and grandfathers maybe older brother. this big corporate marijuana, which i emphasize is involved with international gangs, is a whole new dangerous big business. >> of course everybody thinks
6:51 am
the marijuana in california california and the partial legalization of recreation marijuana would be a good thing. >> well, i think if i get dan right what you're saying is it needs to be looked at because drug cartels are ill filtrating the business on our turf. >> exactly. again, they're polluting both ta they grow and the over all environment. let's take, quote, medical marijuana. someone who takes medical marijuana expects that marijuana to be pure. most of the marijuana on the market is anything but pure. >> we could keep talking this pot thing forever. you know, you're here on access. what are you working on right now? what's
6:52 am
in the can? >> well, we specialize in deep digging reporting. other story is what's happening to our infrastructure, our bridges. many bridges are in dire shape. many are getting worse. few of them are being repaired, much less new ones. we've done an investigative report on what you need to know about bridges. believe me, you need to know a lot. >> listen, here in maryland this is a -- >> we've done several stories. wow. our satellite time has run short. these five minute windows go by way too quickly. it's great seeing you. you're looking good and you still got that fire in your eyes. that's a good thing. >> well, thank you, don and marty. it's been a pleasure to be with you. thanks for the compliment. i will see you along the trail. >> congratulations on that
