visibilities really the worst in central orange county. we'll talk about that and how long it sticks around. >> be careful outside. shortly. we want to start things off by continuing to follow major breaking news coming out of brevard county. that's where police are in a standoff in melbourne. >> it is happening on ellen court off wickham road. evacuated. >> yeah, that's right. we also did speak with people that know the man. they tell me that they describe him as a normal cool guy. they really say this is a shock to them. we also did get word at this bathroom. surrounding residents were asked to be evacuated from the area or windows. the residents we spoke with say they have been out of their

leesburg and the villages, likely to get worse as we head into the next hour or so. temperatures cool enough for a light jacket. it is 57 degrees in orlando. 58 in sanford. milder along the coast. new smyrna beach at 62. we'll burn the fog off after 9:00 this morning. sunshine breaking out of those clouds. 73 at noon. 75 at 4:00 with hardly any rain. one or two coastal showers possible at 10%. coming up, we are talking about near 80 degree highs. first, let's check on the roads and head over to dori who is busy this morning, pinpointing the fog and some issues. >> you can see it here, i-4 west at state road 436. you can see foggy conditions. use the low beams. eastbound lanes. you can barely see the lanes. that is off to the shoulder which is good news if you are traveling in that seminole county area this morning. average speeds right now on the

travel times i-4 east, turnpike to 436 is 16 minutes. green conditions overall on our major roadways, 528, the 408 and the florida turnpike, no major delays as well. a crash, no roadblocks with this one. >> police working to get results for the family of a man not seen since christmas. >> his disappearance is suspicious in nature. look at this picture. officers are searching for 47-year-old doray. his truck was found but he was nowhere to be found. mark lehman is live where that man was found. his family says this is not like him and they want him back home. >> david, his sister tells us he was planning on bringing his grandchildren presents but those gifts never arrived. instead, days later the truck was found here in the parking lot of his work.

>> it has been very scary for our family. >> she says her family has been searching everywhere for her brother. >> searching by his job, across town. >> people telling us he might have been in the area. he ain't popped up. >> the 47-year-old has been missing for nearly two weeks. concerns grew when he never showed on christmas day. >> that was the last thing we knew of. >> harris says her brother disappeared briefly when he checked himself into a drug rehab center but he still kept in touch. now there has been no sign of him. >> something has happened. i don't know. something has happened. he wouldn't just walk away without any of us knowing. >> police say the disappearance is suspicious too. >> my key was under the passenger seat. >> a friend showed us the truck motts borrowed to go to wok. days later, that vehicle was

back pack and cell phone on the front seat. motts was nowhere to be found. >> police have been checking with local hospitals, looking for any sign of motts. they are asking anyone who spots him to call police. meanwhile, family members say they will be in this area in the next few hours. they will be passing out fliers and helping to find any signs of their missing loved ones. >> also new this morning, an osceola county teacher accused of having sex with a student is out of jail after posting bond. police say sarah moore had sex with the victim several times. sometimes at her home she shares with her husband and children. moore was most recently a substitute teacher at st. cloud middle. she was fired after her arrest. moore was charged with 10 counts of sexual battery. >> in a matter of hours, a man accused in a triple murder will again appear in court. louis toledo is accused of murdering his wife back in 2013

their bodies have never been found. during today's hearing, attorneys or both sides are expected to ask a judge to rule on several pieces of key evidence and whether they should be presented to jurors. toledo's trial which will be held in st. augustine is set to begin on january 19. >> a valencia college student accused of violently resisting arrest has been cleared of wrongdoing. the student plans on suing the sheriff's office. the arrest in july was caught on cell phone video. it fueled a debate over whether deputies went too far. deputies say reid and her friends were trespassing at the retreat apartments. video showing reid scolding one of the deputy's sons led some to speculate it caused some deputies to want to get back at her. >> i sleep in pain. for the first two or three months, it was the most excruciating pain ever. >> three deputies accused of

the middle of an internal affairs investigation. >> a man is locked up, charged with stealing used cars from a dealership. investigators say some thieves took several cars from marvin motors. one was found yesterday about 25 miles away in orlando's college park neighborhood. cameras got video of the thiefs. investigators say five suspects stole four cars by breaking into locked boxes. one of those suspects was arrested and the others are still on the run. >> there are now new guidelines in place when it comes to scoring the new standardized test, the florida standards assessment. the state education board voted to approve new passing scores for what students shouldern on tests in reading in math as well as end of course exams given in alja bra and gee am tri. the scale needs about 51% of tenth graders would pass the test needed for graduation.

papajohns.com >> if you are just joining us, we are on top of breaking news in melbourne where police are on the scene of a swat standoff happening at coral gardens condos on ellen court off wickham road. a man is holed up inside one of those units refusing to come out. we have heard there have been shots fired at the complex in the past hour. johnny fernandez is out at the scene. he'll have a live update coming up at the top of the hour. >> officials say they'll retaliate against north korea after the reported bomb test.

raised if the test even happened. officials are saying the claims of a test is likely fallings. underground activity is not consistent with such a test. north korea is sticking by its claims. if it is indeed true, the bomb test would mark a major event in north korea's nuclear bomb arsenal. >> finding who is responsible for a triple murder. a man and two women were killed when someone opened fire inside a lakeland home. another man was hurt after being shot in the face. it happened just before 7:00 yesterday morning deputies say the home is known as a drug house. it appears the shooter or shooters stole pills and money from the scene. >> check out these bind me, an 11-year-old takes on a thief head on after she says he tried to steal her brand new gift, a hover board.

catch the teen responsible. she was riding her hover board when a 16-year-old boy and two others pulled up in a car and asked, let me ride it. when she refused, the girl said one of them jumped out of the car and pushed her. that's when she took matters into her own hands. >> i started punching him trying to get the hover board back. he wouldn't give it back so i pushed his head and it hit the car. >> you don't mess with that girl. the teens took off with the board. but she remembers key things that helped them catch them. >> if you received a drone for christmas, you are not the only one. more than 180,000 people have registered their remote controlled drones over the past two weeks. you may remember the agency made drone registration mandatory. the number of registrations is is high.

the big story, visibilities reduced down to a half mile in a large part of orange county. many other spots looking pretty good but visibilities are reduced to two miles in leesburg as well as the villages. i know that sounds fine but it means we have low clouds and even some drizzle in some of those areas. it could lead to slick spots on the roads in lake county. look at the temperatures, we are at 57 in orlando. 58 in sanford. 60 at daytona beach. 57 in palm coast. 52 in ocala. right now, 63 at cocoa beach. a range in temperatures but cool enough in most spots to grab a jacket for kids heading to the bus stop. here's a look at your forecast. >> as we take you hour by hour through the day. notice the coverage of rain only at 10%. once we burn this fog and low cloudiness off after 9:00 this morning. we are looking better. by noon, more and more clouds breaking up. more sunshine breaking out.

the average high, 71 so we are going above it by a few degrees. into tonight, making evening plans, 9:00, 65 degrees. hovering in the mid 60's for most of tonight with minimal rain chances. most of the rain we track will be just along the coast. you can see the clouds and rain forecast. the white indicating clouds. green indicating a 10% chance for coastal showers as that area of low pressure pushes off and away from us. a new front approaches. that brings us increased rain for friday into saturday. we'll talk about that gnat planning forecast. early in the morning tomorrow, the upper 50's. still need a jacket again tomorrow morning. what about into the afternoon, today 75. almost 80 for the afternoon high tomorrow. getting up to 79 with a 30% coverage of rain. friday certainly not a washout. as we head into saturday, we are upping those rain chances to 50% with a high of 78 degrees.
