tonight, the dog napping, a puppy stolen from a local store. worth more than $2,000. and police hope you can help catch the crook that took him and ran. good evening i'm matt austin. >> and i'm lisa bell. this pet store has been targeted before. we're talking about the puppy stop on east colonial drive. castro is there live. this is a quick heist. >> reporter: that's right, lisa, it only took a matter of seconds for the dog nap tore run from the back of the store out the door with this little guy's baby brother.

for one second? he took off. >> reporter: the dog thief caught on camera. accused of stealing this $2,300 yore key from the puppy stop. >> he bolted out the door and before he knew it. he was across the street and count catch up with him. >> reporter: owner charles black said the man and woman are seen in the store's 14 surveillance cameras. they spend about an hour looking at puppies. and sometimes just standing for minutes talking to each other. >> we kind of think they weren't going to pay for the dogs. they were just waiting for the right moment where he could bolt with the dogs. >> reporter: the woman left supposedly to get her credit card. and minutes later, the man runs out of the store with the dog. this is the second time someone stole a yore key from this store in six months. cameras rolling in november when a woman caught trying to put a dog in her purse. and 2013, surveillance video

down his pants. they were arrested. >> when you come in and steel from us. we get you, you're going to pay full price. and that means also a trip to jail. >> reporter: the store's owner that there is a lesson learned in that theft. he plans to retrain the staff so they keep a closer eye on the puppies and the customers. now if you recognize those suspects in the surveillance video, you're asked to call orlando police. telling students she let someone come to class and shoot them. we just got the report from daytona beach police. this all happened yesterday at an elementary school. the substitute told third gradeers if they disrespected her, it's been known for people to come to school with an ak-47 and shoot kids. students claim the teacher said she had a key to the class and

florida boy, the mom of lonzi barten took the stand. her boyfriend, just days before his trial set to begin. scott takes us inside the courtroom. >> reporter: she talks about most, is drugs. in fact, it took quite a while to get the slang down they lose for drugs. everything from loud meaning marijuana. n for morphine. and dubs $20 worth of cocaine. and more. >> during that time were you aware of the defendant still continuing to be what you refer ed to as the source of narcotics. >>yes. >> and can you tell us a little bit about the types of narcotics? >> umm, yeah. >> oh eastbound -- okay. >> yes.

with the time he was making drug transactions. that was scott johnson reporting for us. lan nah pleaded guilty of child neglect and giving false information on wednesday. new tonight, trappers are putting an eye in the sky to try to catch a coyote. we told you about the coyote on monday. it was spotted on the surveillance camera. they think he may have taken his pet cat, which is still missing. according to our news partners, trappers will use a droned and unmanned trailed cameras to try to find the coyote. they believe two are roaming around. garbage crews will be working over time this weekend in orange krount. >> they'll try to put an end to a smelly situation. garbage that should have been picked up days ago still siting at the end of drive ways. today, news 6 justin went out to get answers and results for these frustrated families. if you live in

a terrifying situation at a florida gas station. a guy stole a car with a six-year-old girl inside. >> surveillance video captured the girl's frightening experience. you can see the man walk up to a parked kia. he circle around before jumping in and taking off. the owner quickly chased the car, he knew his stepdaughter was inside. >> my daughter's in the back seat. my child's in the back seat. he hit the gas very hard. spun around, almost hit the gas pump, almost take the gas pump out. that's when i tried to cut him off in the front of it. but if i did, he would have run over me. >> fear as a parent, as a parent, you're supposed to protect your child. and i couldn't do anything. the thief quickly realized the child was in the back seat of the car. and karl springs police say he let the girl out on the side of

she was found by a jogger crying on the side of the street. the thief is still on the run. tonight, a florida gun store says it's being targeted because of its sculptures. you see, they're armed outside the gun smith gallery. similar sculptures can be seen outside several businesses. they're used as a advertising tool, but these two obviously have guns. well well the guns are fake. some drivers complained it looks like the guns are pointed at them. they had to move the sculptures farther from the road. they did, but they want to know why other businesses aren't being force ed to move theirs. well 800 million bucks. that is how much the power ball jackpot has grown to and expected to rise more before tomorrow night's drawing. being the biggest jackpot in history. lottery fever has taken over the nation. and some people standing in line

this line in california. it loops around the parking lot. 100s oh people crossed the border to get their hands on what they hope will be the lucky ticket. some people reported waiting for an hour. nevada does not participate in power ball. well we didn't see any lines like that in central florida, there was a steady stream of customers buying their power ball tickets. this is in the marathon gas station. we talked to one customer that said if he won, he would not keep all the money. >> helping somebody else, you know, they needed help. poor people, help everybody. and pay all my bills. morning with the fog again. look at visibility already f. you're watching from palm coast t fog is setting in on you. six mile visibility right now in gainsvill. that's okay. you can still see enough to drive. but by the morning hour, we have another 7-8 hours here for the temperature to drop and the fog to really get to going. some of you have dense fog tomorrow morning. daytime highs today, low 70s, in most spots right now at 61 in orlando. melbourne 64. and leesburg 61 . which means -- it's only dropped 2 since we last talked to you. so kind of stabilize the temperature beach side. other temperatures for you, 60 in gainsvill. 61 -- well gosh, just about everywhere. orlando, san orthopedic, leesburg. all 61. so is daytona beach. that's the low that washed us out 40 hours ago. but the hurricane center keeps watching it. the wind speeds are wrapped up

it won't grow up over the weekend. maybe by the middle of next weekers we'll have an extra tropical thing in the middle of the atlantic. never a player in our forecast here. what will be a player is the moose chore that's coming from the gulf of mexico. and tonight we're good. you should not see any more rain tonight or the first thing in the morning. what we will see is the fog. visibility, again, already one mile in palm coast, ten in sanford, ten here. eight in leesburg. the weekend out look, first thing in the morning, fog and stormy for a while midday. while we clear out pretty quickly. the cold front comes through. and then we cool down. so when do we have to deal with the rain? come take a look. here's tomorrow morning 5:00 a.m. no worries. just fog. by noon, sun and clouds and warming up to 78. but by tower o'clock in the afternoon, here comes the rain. here it is at 6:00 p.m. here it is by 8 o'clock tomorrow night racing through. so between about 4 and 8 is our window for storms tomorrow.

o for this season. the defense gave up almost 38 points per game. this week, new head coach scott frost hire ed the guy to fix that. defensive coordinator. he's 36. he and scott frost go back a long time. and like frost, he jumped at the chance to come to orlando. >> the one thing i can tell you, ucf is the team he did not want to play. whether you were f kerr, crick school, 12 school, you did not want to play ucf because of the talent and tradition. and i think that's part of the appealing part of this job. trying to fill that back, aren't they tom? all right, college football's biggest game is just three days away. alabama and clemmenson for the national championship monday night in arizona. both teams arrived in arizona tonight. the crimson tigers are favored by the touchdown as nick goes for his fourth national title as alabama head coach only one other program has 1-4 national
