. >>. >> developing right now, a weather alert for central florida. we have rain now and potentially severe storms on the way in just a couple of hours. troy is pinpointing the timing and the impact it will have on your day ahead. >> there is a missing child alert as deputies search for this 11-year-old boy who hasn't opinion seen in two days. >> we could know as early as today if a triple murder trial in volusia county will be put on hold. what a judge is expected to decide all because of a big ruling by the supreme court. the big story is that severe weather threat. we are starting in the pinpoint weather center. >> troy bridges is right here. we need to watch this system this morning. >> absolutely. already seeing a line develop through the panhandle, moving quickly in our direction. i would say 9:00 is when we can expect the heaviest rain beginning to push right in along i-4 and continuing off to the east. i put a circle in the gulf,

already developing in a line. you can see the line getting firmed up. this will likely weaken a little bit just before it reaches land. already seeing some rain ahead of this in the form of very, very light rain in spots. you can see the green indicating light to moderate rain. the yellow indicating moderate rain. there's the villages, along i-75 to ocala, wet roads, this is ahead of the big storm system. you can see for meritt island, rockledge and even into east orange county, seeing some light to moderate rain. for melbourne and palm bay. the real risk for severe weather, from 7:00 until 1:00 in the afternoon. we do think by 9:00 is when we'll start to see the worst of it begin to push into our area. heavy rain and strong wind gusts will be the greatest threat. that wind could be enough to lead to damage. we can't rule out isolated tornadoes. here's the hour by hour breakdown.

coverage of rain is going up to 90%. then it tapers off to 20% by 4:00 in the afternoon. we'll see sun breaking out. it will warm to 76. it will be a quick moving system. the problem with that is when you have the storm systems moving quickly with all those dynamics in place, you can have tornadoes. we'll watch it closely. back to you. >> thank you, troy. keeping you updated on the crash we mentioned on wethersfield avenue. wethersfield is shut down. if you are about to head that way, give yourself extra time. here are the drive times on i-4 westbound from 408 to osceola parkway takes around 16 minutes. eastbound from the in to 408, taking five minutes. >> the breaking news coming out of seminole county where deputies are searching for a missing 11-year-old boy and he hasn't been seen since wednesday. detectives are hoping someone knows where he is to bring him home safely.

developments in the search for dijon. johnny? >> investigators tell me the 11-year-old was last seen wednesday. a spokesperson with the sheriff's office tells me about 90 minutes ago the 11-year-old boy he has run away before. they are not sure if that is what happened. i want to show you 11-year-old dijon bunding. this is le-year-old dijon bunding. he was seen wearing green sweat pants and brown shoes. he has brown eyes and black hair. he was last seen on the 100 block of oak springs place in sanford. i'll be reaching out to the sheriff's office here in seminole county to get more information about this case. if you have any information about the 11-year-old boy or you

today contact fdle or seminole county deputies as soon as possible. back to you. >> breaking overnight, deputies are trying to figure out what happened to one man found in the middle of a busy road. the man was found early this morning on john young parkway near lb mccloud. firefighters say the man had a wheelchair but for some reason he wasn't in it and was on the the hospital. condition. >> we should know whether the murder trial for a volusia county man will be postponed. it comes one day after prosecutors asked for louis toledo's trial to be put on hold. toledo is accused of killing his wife and her two children in 201. their bodies have never been found. prosecutors asked for the delay to give lawmakers time to review a supreme court decision. earlier this week. the nation's highest court ruled florida's death penalty unconstitutional. the defense is asking for the trial to start as planned next week with the death penalty off the table.

that decision by the supreme court is having an impact on another central florida case. bestman oakforis fighting to get his sentence returned after getting the death penalty. his attorney filed a motion appealing the sentence, something that is difficult for the victim's family. >> just leave him in that cell follow he rots, until his skin peels off. because these what i want for bestman oakfor. >> the attorney said the reason he made his motion is because with the supreme court decision his client never would have been sent to death row. >> two men locked up in a polk county shooting that left three people dead and another person injured. 35-year-old joseph andrew, both of miami are facing first degree murder and attempted first degree murder charges. police say joseph organized the

detectives say when they spoke with 20 yearly thomas jordan he admitted trying to break into 300 cars. he said he took from cars that are unlocked. police say they recovered several cars. another man and a team were arrested as part of this investigation. their names haven't been released to the media. >> new this morning, we know just how much money it could cost students. >> this is part of a debate over school starting times. kirsten is following the new development. what can you tell us at this time? >> supporters say 7:10 is too early and making the start time will help student performance. at a workshop we learned plans could cost the district millions of dollars and it all has to do with buses. adjusting start time for high schoolers would have a ripple effect on middle and elementary schools. the board is considering six different models that could move those start times anywhere from 7:45 to 8:15.

the 7:45 plan would require the district to buy 400 new buses at a cost of $44 million. the adjustment would cost an extra 25 million dollars in operating costs. the board chairman is pushing a different plan that would move high school start times to 7:50 and 8:15. it would only require the district to buy 35 buses with an annual cost of just two and a half million dollars. that plan would require the district to negotiate with the teachers union to keep elementary and middle school students in class longer. all of these plans have a ripple effect. the board says they'll get input from parents. none of the changes would take effect until 2017. >> right now, two astronauts are preparing to venture outside for the first space walk of the year. >> this morning astronauts will do some repair work on the orbiting outpost.

this will be peak's first space walk. the walk is expected to begin at 7:55 this morning. it will last six and a half hours. the time now, 20 minutes before the hour, we are keeping a close watch on a risk for severe weather over the next few hours. >> we have a risk for some tornadoes. let's get the latest from troy bridges, he is pinpointing what we can expect next. >> a severe thunderstorm warning in effect in the big bend area there in the panhandle. this is the line we are watching that will eventually move in here. i think by 9:00, we'll expect to see the stronger storms and severe warnings start to fire off. south of panama city, some big winds, 60 miles an hour already reported, penny sized hail. light rain, the villages, ocala down to bushnell. many of us seeing the light rain there in parts of brevard county for meritt island and back over to east orange county and southern brevard county into areas like palm bay. the kids this morning will need

we are pinpointing the risk of strong to severe storms. this is 7:00 this morning downpours. the push for the stronger storms comes a little later than that. 9:00, 10:00, look at the reds here, covered up area wide with strong wind gusts, lightning, but the biggest concern will be winds up to 50 miles an hour or greater. even a couple of isolated tornadoes. through noon, a lot of nrnl is pushed out to sea. a few lingering strong storms. by the afternoon at 2:00 we are looking better. we'll break down how strong these storms will be and let you know what you can expect with a second round coming in this weekend. >> protesters are expected to be back in downtown orlando today outside the ringling brothers and barnum and bailey circus. they are upset the way elephants in the show are treated. part of that circus tradition is going away. it was phasing out the elephants over the next few years but announced it will happen in the

still, not everyone is happy about the plan. >> we are exciting they will no longer be hauling the elephants. they are not going into a sanctuary. we have no idea what will be going on. >> the elephants will be taken to a conservation facility. protesters say they will be outside downtown orlando for every show this weekend to make their voices heard. >> there is an emotional good-bye for a toddler whose life was cut short. dozens of people gathered to remember 21-month-old lonzi barton. >> the toddler had been missing for months. detectives found what they believed to be his remains just miles from where he was reported missing. the boyfriend of lonzi's mother is the main suspect in his disappearance. investigators say ebbron led weekend. he was set to go on trial on

that trial has been put on hold. >> condolences are rolling in for rene, the husband of celine dion. authorities say he died at a home outside las vegas where he was under the care of a doctor. celine dion just returned to shows in vegas after taking time off to care for her husband. >> you'll have three extra days to send payment to uncle sam. emancipation day is an official public holiday in the district of columbia which means the i.r.s. will be closed. so instead of taxes being due on april 15 like previous years, taxpayers will have until the following monday which is april 18. emancipation day falls on april 16. since that is a saturday, it will be celebrated one day earlier.

this will likely weaken a little bit, just before it moves on land. panama city seeing severe storm warnings. well. we are seeing rain where you see the yellow. where you see the green just very light rain, that's bellview, leesburg seeing moderate rain. mount dora light rain. many of our roads are wet. none of this is severe. it could lead to crashes. watch out on the roadways. titusville, meritt island. there's kennedy space center and back over to east orange county, areas like bithlo, seeing a little bit of light rain, sprinkles. melbourne, palm bay, light rain and also near the attractions and parts of holopaw. here are the temperatures, pretty mild compared to where we have been. no need for a jacket. mid 60's in most spots. here's a look at the pinpoint

>> we break it down hour by hour. really the most rain comes through the first half of the day before the noon hour. 90% coverage through noon and then we taper rain chances off after 3:00 to 20%. for the afternoon drive, for the bus stop later today looking about. this morning, a rough go for those kids at the bus stop at around 7:00 through 9:00. 9:00 tonight, 56 and a 10% chance for showers. by 9:00, the heaviest of the rain, you see the oranges and the reds, pushing through. that will continue along i-4. there's 11:00 this morning, a line of heavy rain continuing for central and eastern sections sections. western sections, parts of western lake county beginning to see this stuff push out of the area. through noon, most of the heavy stuff in far eastern sides, a couple of lingering storms possible to the south of the

attractions area. then this afternoon, southern brevard seeing a little bit. most of it is over with. by 3:00, 4:00, lingering showers. the heaviest storms have pushtd out of the way. these are quick movers. any time they are this fast, they could rotate. that could lead to tornadoes. we'll watch that closely. through the weekend, a second round on sunday. late saturday into sunday, a 50% coverage of storms. a cooldown behind that. a high of 77 tomorrow. 67 on sunday. monday, a high of 59. morning lows in the 30's for most of central florida early tuesday. the colder air coming in by the end of the weekend. >> here's look at the roads, i-4 ivanhoe, cars on the right-hand side of your screen are heading eastbound. traffic is picking up as more people head out. no major delays to worry about. watch out for slick roads. here are the drive times on i-95 northbound from eau gallie
