that very reason is why the school district says extra buses are on stand by here this morning with that temperature dropping here in seminole county. this cold weather is serving as a riernld to make sure your car is prepared for what is ahead. experts say one of top issues is lower tire pressure. that's why it is important to check the pressure and top off whenever we get a cold snap. another thing people see is extra fluids leaking. mechanics say something like that could lead to a bigger issue down the road. >> always look where you park, especially in cold weather, because you never know. power steering fluid. transmission fluid and especially coolamt. everybody. experts say leaking coolant could lead to your heater not working properly. on a morning like this morning, that could be a big problem. we are looking at temperatures dipping into the 30's across

one person inside the gates was shot. >> they just told me there were shots still coming. >> people living at the courtney landing condominiums heard the gun shots between police and one of their neighbors. >> it is superquiet. we never had a problem like this. >> orlando police went out to investigate a suspicious situation but as soon as they arrived, two officers spotted a man with a gun. they ordered him to drop the gun but he refused. that's when officers started shooting. >> these things happen in the blink of an eye. officers have to make a split second decision. hurt. >> police say another man came out of his home with a gun. when police turned towards the second man, he realized what happened and dropped his gun.

gun. >> police chief john mena says veteran. they have spoken with him and he was not hurt. he is ok. he is going to be releasing the name of the officers later today. >> kirsten, thank you. happening, we could learn if the main suspect in the disappearance of the toddler lonzi barton could get a plea deal. his hearing comes one week after deputies found the remains. sources close to the case say a plea deal was reached that day but the judge would not sign off on it until he had more information. ebbron will be in court this morning. we'll bring you information on this case on clickorlando.com and on the news at noon. >> breaking news, big trouble for twitter. the social media site is in the middle of a worldwide outage. lots of people trying to get on

no word on what is behind the outage or how long it will take to get the tweets going. we'll keep you updated. >> palm bay police searching for more victims after a man is charged with traveling across central florida to have sex with a teenager. officers say this man, 72-year-old william leech traveled to meet the teen. he was arrested after detectives say they caught him leaving a victim's home. he is facing several charges. he is currently being held on a $105,000 bond. >> this morning, hundreds of homeowners in flagler county are being warned their water may not be safe to drink. >> johnny is following the latest on this strange crime. what happened. >> deputies say over the weekend, either one person or a group of people wanted -- opened about 20 water valves. they did this in the plantation reserve just off old dixie highway.

problem is with the valves open the water pressure dropped. that's prompted an alert for about 2,000 people who live in the huge plantation bay community to the south. deputies say those water valves were left open draining 40,000 gallons of water. it will cost the utility company big bucks. the water alone is worth over $2,000. >> they knew they were doing damage or costing someone money. it is costing a lot of people the opportunity to use clean water. >> water workers say right now there are no signs that the water is contaminated. but they issued an alert until they can test the water to make sure it is 100% safe. that means people in that community may have to boil their water until at least thursday. >> that is concerning. thanks, johnny. we are a month away from the daytona 500 believe it or not. today the speedway will mark a

>> if you can stay in bed, stay in bed because it is a cold weather alert day in central florida. right now, temperatures across our area are in the 30's and 40's, making for a chilly start to this day and tomorrow, it will be even colder. troy is pinpointing the cooldown. his accurate forecast is coming up in three minutes. >> condolences pouring in from across the music world as people remember the life of eagles cofounder glen fry. fry passed away after battling several ailments along with don henly. he helped to create the legendary band the eagles and became one of the country's successful song writers. he is best known for hits such as hotel california, life in the fast lane and the heat is on. celebrities have been tweeting their condolences and sharing their memories. beach boys singer brian wilson tweeted -- i was shocked to hear

it was a blow to hear. love and mercy to glen's family. actor steve martin tweeted, quote, shocker, my friend from the early days, an important member of the eagles has died. we loved you, glen fry, end quote. glen fry was 67. >> happening today, geraldine thompson is expected to introduce legislation surrounding police officers using force. senate bill 810 will require the head of a law enforcement agency to report any officer using force which results in death or great bodily harm to the florida department of law enforcement within 24 hours. if an investigation into the use of force is conducted, the bill would require results to be turned over to the fdle within seven days. thompson says this legislation will increase the level of accountability for police officers while providing transparency for the public. >> concerns growing about a maitland man with asperger's sin syndrome syndrome.

his mother told the sentinel he normally stays close to home but she is worried he may have left to prove he can go far from home. anyone who has seen this man to call maitland police. >> police say two children, one as young as 11 stole from a pastor after church. the entire thing was captured on surveillance video. you can see the boys just outside the pastor's office. police say the older boy ran to another part of the building and took money from the purse of the pastor's wife along with the keys to their car. >> he was the decoy. they are career criminals. they have done this before. they came with every intention

shock to the system. you probably didn't have to get up quite this early. there is an area of high pressure. it continues to send winds in our direction. the winds out of the north, kicking up, making it feel colder, reinforcing more of the cold dry air. that's why temperatures will continue to be colder even tomorrow compared to yesterday and compared to today. each morning getting colder before a rebound a little bit later in the week. it is 45 in orlando. 42 in daytona beach. the north winds gusting at 20 miles an hour. making it feel like 35, freezing, 32 in ocala. certainly a cold start area wide. what acted the rest of today? the last time we had temperatures only warming into the upper 50's for highs was february so it has been a long

look at how cold it will be, 53 by noon. 57 for the afternoon high at 4:00. even though we'll have a lot of sunshine. the sun will filter through but the clouds will not act as a blanket overnight tonight. not enough of thick clouds to hold in place. mostly clear skies and that's why temperatures will drop off once the sun sets. 45 by 9:00 tonight. at 10:00, we are at 44 degrees. you say the gray moving through some of those high clouds through the afternoon and evening. for the most part, staying clear and coal. that's why temperatures drop off quickly overnight. no clouds to hold in any warmth. here are the afternoon highs. only getting up to 55 in ocala. 57 in orlando. 55 in palm coast. 56 at cocoa beach through the afternoon today with sunny skies. tomorrow morning colder, we are talking about the 20's.
