we'll see it all day. there you go, there's your answer. we'll see more through tonight and it gets better as we head into tomorrow. we had records yesterday across central florida when you consider the rainfall for that date. here they are. nearly two inches in many spots, even more than two inches in daytona beach as early as 8:30 yesterday morning. the old record, less than two inches in daytona beach set in 1937, orlando nearly two inches, the old record set in 1903. today we'll add on top of that, we could see another couple of inches of rain in sections of brevard county. that's why there is a flooding risk. most of us are dry, there are areas of drizzle you are not seeing on the radar, even along i-4 in orange county, a lot of heavy rain to our south. the risk for severe storms, south of our area in south florida. if you are driving in that direction, be ready for that. most of the heavy rain moving into areas like floridana beach,

the casey anthony case, zenaida gonzales, walks out of jail after being arrested. she is accused of stealing from a cancer patient. our crew was the only one there. detectives say gonzalez and her boyfriend stole a cancer patient credit card and bought $800 worth of stuff while he was in the hospital getting treatment. you might remember gonzalez sued casey anthony for defamation, claiming casey framed her. that suit was thrown out. news 6 reporter kirsten o'connor is following this breaking news story. she'll have an update in 30 minutes. >> we are following breaking news in orlando where six people have been sickened following carbon monoxide poisoning at an apartment complex. it happened at walden pond condos, not far from i-4. johnny fernandez is out there live. johnny, the complex is actually evacuated as a precaution to keep other people from getting sick. >> that's right.

now fire crews say they tell me it can take 24 hours for some people to go back into their apartments. i want to show you video from when fire crews were on the scene. the cause of the mess was an indoor generator that was used inside one of the apartments for maintenance. crews say they got a call from dr. phillips hospital after family of four went there feeling ill. they were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. when crews got here, they discovered the generator and they say two other people from the complex were also transported with symptoms to the hospital. we are back out live. police tell me that everyone that was transported to the hospital and being treated for this, they are expected to be ok. once i get more information, i'll pass those updates to you on air and online, powered by news 6. >> thanks. this is the second carbon monoxide scare in central florida in the past few hours. last night two people in orange

hospital after firefighters say they got sick. it happened around 11:00 along governor's avenue. right now, firefighters tell news 6 that a gas generator could be to blame there. >> it is a somber day in the history of space travel as today marks 30 days since the explosion of space shuttle challenger. it broke apart seconds after liftoff. >> all seven astronauts aboard died. today a special ceremony is being held to honor the crew. mark, crews of two other space tragedies will be honored during this day of remembrance. >> reporter: yes, bridgett. crew members from apollo one and space shuttle columbia will also be remembered in this morning's ceremony. because of the rain moving through the area, it is going to be held inside here behind me next to mementos and artifacts

so this shows security guards escorting 27-year-old sasha samson to and from the parking garage. minutes later, police say ducksbury killed and raped her. for the first time, prosecutors released photos taken inside the crime scene. the pictures also show duxbury with injuries on his arms. duxbury at the apartment, police found his finger and shoe print inside. he remains locking up on sexual battery and murder charges. >> new this morning in brevard county, firefighters working to feg out what sparked a fire inside an indy atlantic church. these were taken by firefighters at the scene. investigators say the fire at first baptist church was contained to an electrical panel and part of the wall. no one was hurt. >> right now, a 3-year-old boy believed to be with his mother and escaped inmate remains missing. the volusia county sheriff's office released this picture

they say this is the car the three are believed to be using. it is a white chevrolet cobalt with tags that read uuj. officials say zan der is most likely with his mom. bullock is an inmate who did not return to community release center. if you see them, please call 911. >> voters will once again get the chance to decide whether medical marijuana should be legal. a group tells news 6 it has collected enough signatures to get the issue back on the november ballot. united for care says it collected more than 600,000 petitions. the measure known as amendment 2 needs 60% approval to pass. the last time it was on the ballot, it came close with 58% of the vote. >> time to talk weather with troy bridges. it is a wet start this morning. >> we are seeing light rain and drizzle in large parts of central florida including orange county. most of the heavier rain is down to the south and southeast in

>> welcome back. an apartment complex was evacuated after carbon monoxide sends six people to the hospital. we are told their injuries are not life threatening. police says it appears construction workers accidentally left the generator running there. >> also overnight, zenaida gonzalez walked out of jail after posting bond on charges she stole a cancer patient's credit card. our crews were the only one there when she was released. we tried to ask her several questions but she refused to answer anything. you might remember gonzalez once sued casey anthony for defamation. >> there is breaking news out west. authorities have arrested three more people in connection with that armed standoff at a

the leader of the group who took over the refuge earlier this month was arrested earlier this week. bundy is telling the others involved to stand down and go home. in a statement he is asking the federal government to allow the remaining people to leave without being prosecuted. the group took over on january 2 to protest federal land policy. >> new this morning, the florida legislature is working on a bill to overhaul the state death penalty law because of a recent supreme court ruling that said the current system was unconstitutional. lawmakers say they wanted a new bill passed within a couple of weeks. one of the changes is dealing with the number of jurors to recommend the death penalty. florida only requires a simple majority to recommend the sentence to a judge. this could mean a unanimous vote would be need. >> a wrestling team in georgia is raising eyebrows over a prize being offered in a fund raising raffle.
