we'll have for you coming up. we begin with breaking news at 4:00. a carjacking ends with a woman shot by orlando police. sky 6 flew over the scene near south street and bumby avenue near downtown orlando. the woman and two other suspects stole the car from an elderly man just hours before along curry ford road and conroy road. justin warmoth is live with updates. what do you know about the officers involved in the shooting? >> well, first things first, we're told no officers were hurt in this shooting. as for their background, we're told each of them has been with the department for about five to 10 years. i want to show you where this all happened. beyond the crime scene tape here and cop cars, there are a few businesses. there's a juice bar, barbershop and yoga studio that was in the parking lot where several rounds were fired. juice.

>> 19-year-old patrick lange was just feet from where the orlando police officers opened fire on the three carjacking suspects. he works at the juice bar and saw everything go down. >> the suspect pulled in and was followed really closely by three cruisers. i went out front to see, you know, what was going on, and ducked into the barbershop because of what was going on. >> he says the suspects pulled into the parking lot and had no where to go. when they tried to get away, that's when he said the shots were fired. >> as soon as i was in the barbershop, the suspect decided to turn around and was hitting other cars in the parking lot while they were turning around and when they pulled out or were trying to, the cops shot 10 to 15 rounds through the windshield. >> anytime someone steals someone's car at, you know, and threatens to be armed, it's very dangerous, yes. anytime -- anytime anyone runs from the police, it creates

you can see the outside is charred near goddard avenue and lee road. we're told no one was hurt but the fire shot done edgewater drive at lee road this afternoon. >> right now we're working to get answers about an investigation into an body found in an orange county lake. sky 6 flew over the scene after weed control workers reported the body floating. it's a black male and there was a missing person reported in the area on tuesday. they're trying to figure out if it's the same person. this is still a developing story. we'll let you know when we learn more. >> developing right now, race fans are flocking to daytona beach. >> yeah, this weekend's the big rolex 24 which kicks into full gear. we're going to check in live with candace campos at the speedway with all of the excitement coming up. but first, chief meteorologist tom sorrells is pinpointing the weather for tonight. yesterday, you told us to expect some big changes and it was gorgeous out there today. >> my standard line is how do you like me now?

we're trying to move as quickly as we can to get the beds and get them off the streets. >> the city tells me it's close to getting the 100 beds for the temporary shelter. but no word when they'll be available. live in daytona beach, amanda castro, news 6. >> thank you. >> orlando police tell us they've taken nearly 600 guns off the streets that had all been used in crimes last year. o.p.d. says they seized 598 guns in 2015, a 10% increased from those received in 2014. many were taken in traffic stops where officers found the guns in plain sight or searching the drivers for probable cause. calls of the guns were used in a crime stolen. five were arrested in the process and five juveniles. >> next at 4:00, calling all

this much sunshine. it's going to stick around for more for the weekend. yes, it was. cloud cover peeled out of here during the overnight. when you woke up this morning, it was near perfect. it has stayed that way throughout the entire day today. we don't have any rain to track as i move the satellite and radar out together. you can see the way the clouds are checking out. the radar itself is sweeping around and there are in the gulf speckles, but none of those are coming our way. last week we had the big low racing to the northeast and bringing the cold front in here, wrecked part of our weekend, made for a big blizzard from d.c. to new york city. tonight, none of that. everyone along the east coast is going to melt down and get rid of the snow and try to get back to normal. we stopped at 45 in ocala. 45 in the villages. we hit 47 degrees for an overnight low this morning in leesburg. 51 did it in palm coast and daytona beach.

right now, we've rebounded to daytime highs of 65 in orlando. that is right on the money for where we thought we would be this time of the day. here this afternoon, 64 in palm coast. 66 in ocala. 66 in cocoa beach. look at the sun, shining off the water there in the distance. the amway in the foreground. 65 in orlando. melbourne right now at 65. for the moment in ocala, you are at 64. other temperatures, 64. also in palm coast. even as far north as gainesville, we're at 67. the same at the cape. and 66 does it in cocoa beach. compared to yesterday, we're 1 degree cooler than we were yesterday at the same time. so the cooler, drier air has already settled in. tonight is the night we start to peel the low back down into the 40's. the wind keeps funneling in here. from the west and northwest. just about everyone has a 10 to 12-mile-an-hour wind. yesterday we had the fog issues. tonight, none of that. visibility is back to 10 miles

answers this afternoon after a family claims their son was bitten by a snake at disney's animal kingdom. attorney says the boy's great grandmother saw him get bitten and died of a heart attack. eric sandoval spoke with the family's attorney and disney today. what did you find out. >> attorney matt morgan called a news conference this morning to talk about all these claims. he admit to us he doesn't know if the snake escaped from the exhibit or it was wild. but regardless, he says disney should have prevented it from happening and disney is standing its ground. >> disney has an obligation to ensure the safety of the people who visit their parks. >> and that is the reason attorney matt morgan said he agreed to take on the case of an alabama family. they claim they were going into the jungle trek to see a kimono dragon at animal kingdom. on the other side of the entrance here, they claim a green and brown snake fell from the tree on to their 8-year-old son.

are here. they say the snake wrapped itself around the boy and bit him on the leg. to make matters worse, the family says the boy's great grandmother, in her late 80's or early 90's, saw what happened and immediately had problems breathing. those problems continued, they said, and she died of what turned out to be a massive heart attack two days later. >> if we can prove that there is negligence on the part of disney for allowing this snake to be on its premises and that negligence was the proximate cause and legal cause of the grandmother's death, that would be a more significant claim. >> disney admits the boy was bit on the finger for a non-venomous snake and they say they treated him for it with a band-aid. they say the allegations in the lawsuit are an utter mischaracterization of the fact. >> i understand the skepticism behind your viewers and people who have opinions about these

>> right now, a mystery is unravelling in the volusia county neighborhood where investigators say a man who lived at a home that caught fire overnight took his own life less than a block away. they were called out to the area on river drive around midnight in ormand beach. news 6's kirstin o'connor walks us through their discovery. >> neighbors tell us it was a weird and noisy night as sheriff's deputies and firefighters swarmed the area, all while a man living in this home was seen running down the street, with a gun, while his home was burning. >> last night, i was just laying in bed, watching a movie and i heard one gunshot. >> sirens, smoke and a loud pop, matt higgenbothem stepped out on his doorstep around midnight to find a crowded street. >> i've never seen anything like it.

>> a man was found dead on the street with a self inflict gunshot wound down the road from his home. >> a fire tore through the home. >> the scariest thing, the houses are close. the fire department came fast. they can sure jump from house to house if something got out of hand. >> firefighters said they had trouble getting water on the fire because deputies were investigating the area where the body was found. they said no one was inside the home when they arrived. the state fire marshal is still trying to figure out if the fire may have been intentionally set. >> thank you. hundreds of new jobs could soon be coming to the space coast. space florida is reportedly working on a deal that would bring a major aerospace company to brevard county. according to our partners at "florida today," the deal is being called "project fable." and includes a $36 million manufacturing facility bringing 250 jobs to the area.

with the aclu after a new report from the group claims black drivers are far more likely than white drivers to get tickets for not wearing their seat belts. it's a story we first brought you yesterday morning. the aclu says the problem is statewide, but in orange county, black drivers were three times more likely than white drivers to be ticketed for seat belt violations. the sheriff's office says it is now checking that report for accuracy. the spokesperson says they're also constantly looking at their policies and procedures. >> today president obama made another push to get equal pay for women. >> he's proposing a new rule that will require companies to pay a pay data by gender race and ethnicity. >> the rules apply to companies with 100 or more employees, including employers to include a salary information on a form already submitted to the equal employment opportunity commission which includes the gender and age of workers. the administration says the rule
