there is a front that will be moving in mainly tomorrow from lunchtime on. that will give a chance for storms. not so much today. today near record heat to deal with. look at the temperatures, close to where we should be for an amp high temperature. the average high this time of year, around 3:00, 4:00 in the afternoon is 72. look, we are at 68 degrees in orlando. we are at 70 in cape canaveral. daytona beach, 70. new smyrna beach, 70. ocala at 70 degrees. because of a breeze, there is no fog this morning. rain chances only at 10%. at 4:00, we warm near a record, up to 84 with a 20% chance for rain. coming up, we'll talk about the timing for tomorrow's storms and the cooldown behind it. another chance for rain coming for super bowl sunday. let's check on the roads with amy in the napleton traffic center. good morning, amy. >> good morning. we'll enjoy the dry roadways while we can.

the overnight was construction. that cleared out nicely. a couple of things remaining this morning. even these won't be a factor too much longer. we had two lanes closed because of barrier repairs on i-4 westbound. as you make your way by altamonte, no delays around that this morning. we are doing just fine. to prove the point, look at your drive times, no issues eastbound, westbound sides of i-4. the rest of the roadways in great shape. that's your check on traffic. now back to you. >> breaking overnight in orlando, two people had to be rushed to the hospital after a shooting at a condo complex. kirsten is live at the summer gate condos near kirkman. what are police saying about what happened? >> reporter: we have been reaching out to police all morning long. we haven't heard much except this was a double shooting and it happened last night somewhere inside this apartment complex on cypress woods.

what police are working on right now. as we got on the scene, we watched a tow truck get away with a black four door car followed by two crimes scenes wechlt asked police on the scene about that car. they told us it is part of the shooting investigation but wouldn't say how or who the car belongs to. we know this started as a suspicious incident around 10:30 last night. two people were hurt, both taken to the hospital. police are not saying how badly either of them were hurt or how they are doing this morning. we have been calling and e-mailing police all morning trying to get answers about if there is a shooter still in the area. we are in a quiet neighborhood, a gate community. still trying to get those answers. as soon as we have an update, we'll pass it along to you. we'll have another update in 30 minutes. >> concerned parents pack a special meeting in orange county. they are demanding answers about recent threats that has kept

many of those parents say the school's response is not good enough. the trouble has been building over the last several days at maitland middle school. mark, the principal is hearing from a lot of angry parents. what is going on? >> more than 100 packed the library here at maitland middle school for a meeting draezing rumors of gang activity and fights. many saying it is unacceptable when it comes to the lack of details and communication. that is unacceptable when it comes to the safety of their children. >> parents at maitland demanding answers after meetings and alleged attacks reaches a boiling point. >> i need to make sure i maintain privacy.

message was left by the principal on monday. >> over the weekend, i was made aware of threats on social media and immediately reported it to maitland police department. >> the school is saying police are investigating a post from the group called the maitland 5k, the post makes reference to weapons and threatening to fight a student. students were safe and no real gang existed but parents say the violence is real. >> she said, mommy, they were going like this. >> police and the school district says safety measures are in place such as a resource

she will do a further assessment of the school when it comes to safety. as for parents, they say they'll form a committee looking to get results to make sure that any future safety concerns they have will be addressed in the future. >> there's a crime alert for a brevard county neighborhood after police say thieves are breaking into cars and taking everything from jewelry to guns. nine cars were hit on shelly court court. police say the thieves targeted unlocked cars monday night. the thieves took phones, anything they could get their hands on. most concerns to neighbors, a rifle and handgun were taken. >> it is scary that more people got ahold of guns that are out there. >> especially now that they have a rifle too, it is not easy, especially with a 3-year-old in the house. >> police say there is surveillance video from one of the homes they are trying to get

right now, they think there are three to four suspects involved in this. if you know something about this crime, call police. >> a deputy is recovering after a call call. troopers say the deputy had emergency lights and sirens on when a car pulled out in front of him. the highway patrol tells us the deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. troopers say the other driver is facing charges. the orlando security guard accused of raping and killing a woman in her downtown orlando home now faces murder charges many her death. a grand jury found enough evidence to indict this man with murder, attempted sexual battery and burglary charges. this video is is one of the key pieces of evidence prosecutors showed the grand jury. it shows 27-year-old sasha walking with ducksbury. prosecutors say this was the last time she was seen alive.

held at the jail without bond. >> fallout from the ruling that the death penalty is not constitutional. the execution of a man is now on hold. lawyers asked to delay his execution following the high court's ruling. lambert was scheduled to be executed next week after killing two people in florida. his lawyers argued for a delay. members of the house panel say they'll take up a proposal to overhaul the death penalty law. >> teaching fighting to get races and they are taking their battle to the school board. check it out. >> we start in seminole county, check out teachers protesting outside the building in sanford yesterday. leaders offering races of more than 2%. the teachers union wants pay to go up by 6%. a similar fight is playing out right now in volusia county. the district just declared a

teachers in this county are asking for a 3% raise. they say district officials will not negotiate. reps with the union are asking for a special judge to sort the situation out. >> some restaurants making it easier for pet lovers to eat with their furry friend. >> there are some rules. dogs will only be allowed on patios at restaurants and they'll need permits to allow their guests to do that. that will renew each year. there are new rules to keep dogs safe. many restaurants in seminole county have used similar rules for awhile. you see that a lot. >> as long as the dog does not attack me, while i'm trying to eat my food. >> i don't think those dogs will try to attack you. >> don't be afraid of a dog. here's how it looks as we take you to downtown orlando. you can see a little bit of haze on some of the lights out there. nothing like we saw yesterday at this time.

cause drivers to get injured. what is the problem with all of these cars? >> the company says that the side air bags have a depekt that could cause them to go off even if you are not in a crash. there are reports of some drivers suffering injuries because of this. the recall involve 320,000 vehicles include land cruisers and sequoia along with the lexus lx 470. all of the impacted vehicles were sold between 2003 and 2006. now, toyota is blaming improper programming of the air bag control computer. the company says this is not related to the ongoing issues with air bags made by toccatta. the recall has affected 20,000 cars in the u.s. adds for this new recall, toyota says the replacement, they'll replace the computer for free and owners should be getting
