i'm lisa bell. and i'm matt austin... the breaking news, a deputy hurt in a shoot out. i'm lisa bell. >> the gunmen and possibly the deputy were both shot. this happened at the marathon gas station just east of maple wood elementary. jen, is the deputy okay? >> at last check. we did hear he's in stable condition. we're told that deputy and another man both rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds. now a lot of blue lights as you can see. csi has taken over this investigation. the man was in the parking lot of the kangaroo gas station. and had multiple handguns. they a approached the man and that's when he raised one of the guns to his head.

him to put down the gun, that's when he raised the second gun towards officers and started firing. they fired back. one of the deputies sarlt danielle was shot. possibly in the leg and rushed to the hospital again. we're told he's in stable condition. that shooter was also taken to the hospital. at last check. that deputy is in stable condition. they have not released that suspect's name. as soon as we get more information, we'll let you know. thank you. also new tonight, the four legged hero credited with save ing a woman as she's being attacked. but tonight her attacker is still on the run. >> the crime tracker alert centers on a vin guard community. sahh shell talked to the victim tonight. she admits this could have been much worse if it wasn't for her dog. >> reporter: yeah, that's for sure. mat and lisa.

>> reporter: the woman screamed, fought her her life as he choked her, ripping her shirt. the victim's husband tried rushing down stairs with a broken leg. lucy got there first. >> she just came 100 miles per hour down the stairs tooth and toenail hair standing on her back. >> reporter: she lunged a @ man startling enough that the victim was able to kick him off and push him out the door. the man ran away. lucy, ultimately saving her life. >> nobody would ever believe you would do that. but you are such a good girl. >> reporter: now police came out searching for that man, of course, and their k-9 dogs were able to catch a sent all the way out here to the road. but not able to find the man. the victim that was clearly too afraid to show her face had a description for him.
