you just mentioned the damage to a cruise ship. this thing spinning around counterclockwise looking tropical pu it is not. this is moving away from us altogether. you can see a swirl as we take you into it. snow moving through with this storm system in the northeastern u.s. rain near the carolinas, finally pulling away from them. for us, drive air in place at least for now. that will lead to a cold start. sunshine once the sun comes up before a new front reinforces cold air and moves in with rain. we are at 30 in ocala. 39 at daytona beach. 34 in palm coast. 3 in orlando. 47 at cocoa beach. area wide, cold enough for a big coat. not much of a warmup through the day. 61 at noon. we'll see sun by then. more and more clouds building in. warming to 65 at 4:00. we'll talk more about tonight's rain straight ahead.

head over to amy in the traffic center. amy? >> it is not warm on the roads but at least it is dry. we have the smallest of things happening at this point. we have a crash now just coming in, reports of another crash, actually, a stalled out vehicle. it looks like it is on the eastbound side by kirkman road. one more thing to bring to your attention, construction at curry ford road at chickasaw trail. we told you about that stalled not too far away. you can see fairbanks moving along just fine. no disruptions causing any delays because it is so early. that's your check on traffic. >> now to breaking news, a royal caribbean cruise ship runs into a huge storm. >> passengers on board the anthem of the seas are on social media posting pictures of damage on board.

about those conditions on board? >> reporter: to give you a perspective, this ship had to go through a storm which is a going today. some of those passengers are taking to social media. let me show you video one posted. seas were roughed. royal caribbean said when the storm hit the captain asked pass yers to stay in their rooms precaution. injuries. the cruise line has said there is no damage to the ship itself. furniture flipped, crashed flower pots on the floor. saturday. it was supposed to make it back to the bahamas and back in one week. anthem of the seas is one of the

room to hold nearly 5,000 passengers. it is also one of the royal caribbean cruise lines newest last year. the stop in cape canaveral is a scheduled stop. it should arrive by late morning and mid afternoon. by that time, a better idea of how this ship managed through the storms. >> breaking news overnight, a convenience store clerk shot during an armed robbery. workers inside tell us four masked men walked into the store before 11:00 in the evening and pointed a gun at the clerk behind the counter. after firing a warning shot, another clerk walked back into the store and shot several times. a third worker spoke to us about the shooting. >> i came outside and i saw him standing there, holding his leg. he told me he got shot and the guys were gone. >> we are told the victim was shot three times in the leg but

johnny fernandez is following the breaking developments. he'll have an update coming up >>. >> overnight, new developments surrounding the shooting of a 134-year-old boy. >> deputies say it was an accident. we are learning the convicted felon is under arrest. it happened in orange county. that teen is at arnold palmer hospital. the owner of the gun is facing charges. >> the man wasn't at home at the time. deputies say he shouldn't have owned a gun in the first place because he is a convicted felon. deputies are here at the hospital. they are gathering information. right now, they are talking with family members as the teen recovers. >> the kid got shot in the neck. they were just playing with guns. >> next door neighbor said he heard the gunshot as he got home yesterday afternoon. a 13-year-old rushed to the

be an accidental shooting. >> only news 6 was rolling as the man was placed in handcuffs. we are learning it was his gun that went off, shooting the boy. >> deputies say walter wasn't at home yesterday afternoon but family members were. investigators say two 18-year-olds found his gun in a bedroom when it accidentally fired. beromi was arrested for possession of a firearm. >> i did some digging into his background. we learned he was released from prison last year after serving a five year sentence for drug trafficking. i'm asking deputies if he or

as soon as i learn anything new, i'll pass it along on news 6. >> that shooting was part of a violent weekend. three gunmen remain on the run. we brought you this as breaking news on the morning news yesterday after as many as three gunmen started shooting inside the nightclub on universal boulevard. police have not released any details about the gunmen they are looking for or any details surrounding the condition of the victim. we do know one of the victims tafrpg to the hospital was critical. officers are reviewing video from the club to try to get a better idea of what went down and who those gunmen are. >> in a few hours, city leaders will discuss a plan to get the school millions of dollars to make it all happen. officials are looking to build the campus and create a village

located. today city commissioners will take up an agreed to set aside $75 million for the project. the project is far from a done deal. it still needs to be ok'd from the board of governors. last year the governor vetoed $15 million for the project. >> morgan and morgan says it is going to start firing over 100 lawsuits against drink mrakers so. far, they are not giving details about the suit. the attorney said the drinks can increase heart palpitations in otherwise healthy people. a press conference is planned for 1:00. we'll keep you updated. >> one of the candidates vying for the title of president in election 24016 will be making a stop in marion county later today. ben carson hold ago lunch yoon at the country club this afternoon.

the event is aimed at raising money for the campaign. while dr. carson is in florida, the rest of the candidates are spending the day in new hampshire where voters will head to the polls. right now, donald trump is leading for the republican and bernie sanders is leading for the democrats. >> fans of the denver broncos has a superreason to smile. >> peyton manninging and the rest of the mile high team can call themselves champions. >> you saw the game live right here on news 6. the broncos defense is to keep the panthers from advancing down the field, only allowing them to score one touchdown. in the end the final score was denver 24 and carolina 10. that win had fans in denver hitting the streets to show

off the coast of the carolinas. the anthem of the seas was traveling from new jersey to the bahamas when it hit a storm. pictures show furniture tossed about, vases broken and right now, there are no reports of injuries. we'll let you know as soon as we get new updates. >> a push to fight the zika virus. there will be daily updates on the virus. these come after governor scott declared a public health emergency in the state. the updates will come at 2:00 p.m. each day. they will include confirmed cases in the state. at last check, there were 14 cases in florida. one is in osceola county. health officials say all of the cases are actually travel related and none of them involve pregnant women. the virus has been link today birth defects in children including infants being born with abnormally small heads. >> witnesses are being urged to

over the weekend, a second victim died following the shooting at the mall friday night. investigators say one of the victims was found next to a car in the parking lot of jcpenney. the other just outside the store entrance. both men were killed. detectives say they don't believe this is random. anyone with information about this deadly shooting or about shatter is being asked to come forward, call the crime line -- 1-800-423-tips. >> gas prices continuing to go down so drivers are saving money at the pump. gas prices have dropped 6 cents. the national average for a gallon of regular gas is $14.74. in florida, three cents lower than this time last year. experts say enjoy it while you can.
