thiefs and and it could tie them to several other burglaries. >> they came in and opened it and you happen took everything. >> busy mom lost out on 100s of dollars in gift cards when thieves targeted her unlocked car last friday morning. >> by the time you go around the other side and take the baby out of the car and grab your groceries, it's another step to open up that door and hit the button. >> reporter: but it was a neighbor's stolen gift card that would help deputies track down these two men 28-year-old robert couldn'ter and 21-year-old tyler johnson. they say hit up at least six cars in the cobblestone subdivision. >> wireless is an extra step i'll be taking from now on. >> reporter: the neighbor wouldn't go on camera but said his gift re-crete links the card to the gas station it was last used. they checked surveillance

car and their car license plate led to a home. where they found the men and several of the stole items. now robert counter was already a wanted fugitive. they were both arrested. police are trying to make those connections with the burglaries in the area. reporting in the area. sashell saunders. news 6. news tonight, a mother's call for justice. someone t-boned her car with her baby in the back seat. that driver didn't stop and now she wants results to track them down. the hit and run happened yesterday at 1792-and twenty-fourth street in sanford. as jennifer ortega shows us the mom is taking the matter in her own hands. >> reporter: the mom posted pictures on facebook.

>> i was terrified. to hear her screaming like that. it was literally the scariest moment of my life. >> the accident happened so foist. >> all of a sudden i just feel a bang pretty much and hear it and then i spun around. >> reporter: she says the only thing she could think about is her three month old baby girl in the back seat. the car seat pushed over on its side after the impact. >> seeing her car seat. it got in okay. but (indiscernible) i'm going to cry. the pillar is pushed into the car. some of the bumper is still on there. >> reporter: eryka tells us she was so upset the driver didn't stop she post ed the crash on facebook. hoping someone saw something that could help police drake track them down. >> that's horrible what they did. there's an incident. let alone, if there wasn't an infant. how can you hit someone and not know they're okay and take off like that. >> reporter: detectives say there is surveillance video to hopefully help identify the car in the wreck. if you have any information,

in san burn, jennifer ortega news 6. eryka thinks the car that hits her is a nissan ultimate. possibly maroon in color. they bought a sick dog from a local pet shop despite warranties and shop offers, not enough was done to save the dog. >> they are sharing their story as a warning to others. investigate mic mic. our investigation starts here. >> we have customers here, they had animals that were sold that were ill. have you had those allegations before? >> yeah. i mean it's a pet store, we get it all the time. >> you don't sell them sick though do you? >> no, the health certificate is healthy. that's what we know from the vet. that's when they get -- that's vet tells them something different. >> reporter: that's exactly what ashley said what happened to her. she and her fiance

puppy. >> i was in love with him the first himont i laid eyes on him. >> reporter: store employees said he was sick at first. but bare was prepare ed to come home. >> i was elated. he refused to eat. >> reporter: as part of pet land's policy. the puppies have to see the store's contracted vet to be covered under warranty. so they took brayer in to get checked out. >> that was pretty much the last time i saw the puppies for three weeks. >> pet land through their claims company pausetive solutions did cover most of their expenses that are hospital stay. but shortly after he came home, he started having seizures. >> he kept having them. >> reporter: so it was back to the vet. but when they called pausetive solutions this time, she was told the warranty didn't cover diagnostic i i can tests. >> even if we have a diagnosis,

they knew they gave us a sick dog. and would do nothing to help. >> reporter: feeling helpless. they decided to have him put down. >> i'm a mom. and i fell in love with this puppy and i'm so angry and i'm heartbroken and it makes me sick to my stomach. >> reporter: for the record, this is at no time first time they've been accused of selling sick dogs. they found several complaints made with the state and the better business bureau. she says she's not surprised. >> the pet stores and they fill your head and heart with these grand delusions that all of our puppies go through these testings and guidelines. it's all crap. >> pet landowner e-mailed news 6 this statement saying in part we take the health of our puppies very seriously and care deeply

people have property rights. >> reporter: that's left this community feeling helpless. >> i don't understand why orange county has let this thing slide as long as it has. orange county needs to act. >> reporter: seminal county had a similar case. keep in mind every county has their own ordinances. and the county fined homeowner 1.9 million in fines and said the property is three nuisance violations. and even sent davis to prison for four years. but just this pass september, he removed 35 tons of trash. costing taxpayers nearly $10,000. which again, the billed to davis. orange county does have a code provision that would allow them to clean this claim this property and take all the stuff to a landfill. but they say that's probably not a permanent answer. >> no sooner do we go out and spend 10-$15,000.06 months later, we'd be having to do the same thing again.
