watching construction pick up so hopefully not too much longer. >> a lot of folks probably off from work. lucky you. but why are you wit us in you should sleep. storms, so a few changes on the way. >> we had breaking news to get to first. an rv crashes and bursts into flames. one person did not make it. kirsten is live. we know police are still out there. what can you tell us? >> we have been talking with one of the officers on the scene. he tells us they have this whole area tapes off from the exxon gas station over to the dairy queen and the reason for that is there are pieces of this rv that are thrown all over this area. we are actually standing away

burned up. they will not tell us how many people died in this accident. you can see from beyond that caution tape tree that fell over and a lot of damage. you can't even make out the rv at this point. it is unrecognizable this morning. detectives are trying to figure out why they hit the tree, toppling to the ground. there is water on the ground from when the fire department was trying to put out the flames. that rv so badly burned, it is unrecognizable this morning. also, you can still smell the smoke that was out here probably just a couple of hours ago. we know police were called out here at around 1:00 this morning to try to get this scene under control. we know there are power

assessing the situation, making sure theretos no danger to the power lines above us. this fire happened next to the gas station, the exxon gas station is taped off. it is steps away from the pumps at the gas station where the fire happened. so there was quite a bit of danger here just hours ago. still a heavy police presence. a lot of officials and detectives looking through the scene and trying to gather more information about what happened. and give us more information about this deadly accident. we'll continue to update you on what we can find out from police on the scene. >> outside we have a quiet start to this monday. changes are in store. >> troy bridges is in the pinpoint weather center with the information. >> we'll pinpoint a front that comes in late tonight and early tomorrow.

southbound lanes closed from construction from the weekend. they are scheduled to reopen at 6:00 this morning. until then you will have detours including one to i-4. volume is light. my drive times looks fine. 408, eastbound and westbound travel is not an issue. we'll send things back to you. >> more breaking news this time in deland. >> a family is forced out of their home after a fire. we learned the victims had to escape through a window and minutes later the roof collapsed. johnny is there live. johnny, you spoke with the family, how are they doing after this terrible situation? >> i spoke with a family member offcamera. she tells me everyone is ok. as you can imagine, they are

the chief tells me a 4-year-old was in the house when the fire took place. i want to show you video of when we got here. we were here. firefighters responded to the house on south stone street at around 1:34. the chief tells me when the firefighters got here, the house was engulfed. the family of four escaped the house through a window after smelling smoke. backyard. they met with firefighters and were brought to safety. moments later the roof collapsed. it appears the fire may have started on the west side of the house. we are told the fire was so intense it knocked down power poles. we did get word the investigation is ongoing by the state fire marshal along with the deland fire marshal. we got word the red cross is helping out this family find a

>> he is suffering a bruised retina, the eye bouncing off the brain. >> police say edward kelty was behind the wheel that morning. in january he was denied bond after the judge heard testimony from a detective and a relative. they are arguing he was trying to avoid officer anderson. the judge said there was too much evidence to grant a release. in the ruling, the judge said after reviewing the dash cam video the judge felt the presumption is is great. >> less than two weeks ago this correspondence should step aside

he was a judge in a law enforcement role. another judge stepped down after questions after he was retained by the fraternal order of police. coming up at 8:30 when the status hearing is happening. we'll find out if the judge will be addressing this we'll let you know when this status hearing happens at 8:30. >> in osceola county, kissimmee police need help identifying a repeat robber. he tried to steal cigarettes in from the 7-eleven. detectives say he was able to get cash after pointing his gun at a worker at another seven-lech not far away. if you have any information about either of these cases, call police. >> the body of antonin scalia is being transported back to the washington area today. yesterday a justice of the peace determined the 79-year-old died

in 2015 troopers say there were 93,000 hit and run crashes in florida and 186 of them were deadly. that's a huge increase from 2014 when there were more than 85,000 hit and run crashes. troopers kicking off with a campaign this morning. families will also be at this event. >> starting today some orange county parents will have a new option when it comes to pediatric care as nemours is expanding. nemours hor sdops opens today and it will offer primary care services to all children. this opening marks the 14th nemours in the area. >> we are starting out nice this morning. >> starting out dry across central florida. that will change late tonight, mainly into early tomorrow. a front bringing storms.

>> just waking up with us, following two stories breaking overnight. first up, a family lost their home after a fire. family members told us they had to escape through a window and moments later the roof collapsed. firefighters are investigating what caused this fire. meanwhile, at least one person is dead and another hurt after an rv crashed boo a ditch and caught on fire. news 6 kirsten o'connor is live at the scene. she'll have a live update coming up at the pom of the hour. >> new this morning, one man's run from the law is caught on camera in brevard county.

>> the tire fell off the stolen mustang. this is yesterday in cocoa. the driver later crashed into a sign at dixon and clear lake roads. he then tried to run away. seconds later, police caught up to him. >> the driver was arrested. 22-year-old ontario is facing along with charges. we checked with the jail and he is being held without bond. >> as concerns continue to grow -- >> some kind of virus but i wasn't to worry but then when the rash spread to my entire upper body, then i said, this is not a typical illness. >> while on a medical mission, the student says he contracted the zika virus.
