if they do, we'll be dealing with changes. not a lot of rain this afternoon. that's the good news if you are making plans. overnight, that will change. we'll see a line of showers and storms. we'll show you the line that we can expect, it is all ahead of a front. look at the front bringing snow to the d.c. area. rain all the way back into dallas, texas. there's the front. before we see a front move closer, we'll see warm air into the afternoon. a little bit of a different setup than what we saw over the weekend as we got to wear sweaters and jackets. today we get up near 80 in many spots because of the winds out of the south and southeast around an area of high pressure that has shifted. the high led to sunny skies over the weekend. it is out of the way. we are seeing winds bringing in warmer air later. 48 in ocala. 55 in orlando. right now, daytona beach at 56. look at the warmup, we are at 72 at noon.

chance for a few late day showers. we'll talk about the overnight storms. first, let's check on the roads with amy in the traffic center. >> it will be nice. we'll knock on wood with that one. it is construction from the overnight that we are still seeing. over here, you can see the presence by the toll plaza along the beachline. some of the construction is setup. volume not impacted as you make your way past. your drive times look good. eastbound osceola parkway to colonial, only 17 minutes. not too shaby at all. >> to breaking news overnight, one person is dead, another hurt after an rv crashed. it happened on u.s. 1 right near i-95 in ormond beach.

police have told you yet how this happened? >> that's what detectives are working to find out this morning, bridgett. they are out here trying to figure out what caused the driver to veer off the road, slamming into a tree, toppling it over and bursting into flames. we are watching crews trying to to disassemble that broken and burned tree. a lot of smells out here, like i mentioned in the last half-hour from -- we have saws and the ash from that burning tree. the rv itself is unrecognizable. it was burned all the way to the ground. police have the whole area taped off from the exxon gas station to a dairy queen next door. an officer on the scene tells us there are pieces of the rv thrown all over the place. that's why they are keeping us at a distance. police are calling this a deadly accident but haven't told us how many people died in the crash. we know one person was taken to

called in around 1:00 this morning. police tell us they should have a public information officer out here in the next couple of hours or so as they continue to do their investigation. we'll find out a little bit more about what is happening hopefully closer to when the daylight comes out. out. >> thank you, kirsten. a deland house goes up in flames, trapping the family in the backyard. this happened around 1:30 this morning. the family which included two children, one as youing as 4 years old, was able to get to safety through a window. but the flames were so intense, the roof of the house collapsed just seconds later. right now, the red cross is helping the family with a place to stay and the state fire marshal is investigating the cause. >> in a matter of hours the man

go on trial. he is accused of trespassing and threatening deputies who asked him to leave the property. he ended up shot and he is facing charges. mark lehman joins us live. the defense is trying to keep the case from going forward. what is going on? >> this motion was filed two weeks ago requesting a competency hearing. his attorneys say he was not in the right mind when he was confront and then shot a deputy. >> the case surrounds this incident, the entirety of which was captured on cell phone and surveillance video. deputies say the man on the other side of the glass is montavo, someone with a historic of stalking at the wwe facility. when deputies arrived, you can see montavo charge at them. one deputy retreats and

hours later while still at the hospital, montavo gave his side of the story. he was asked why he kept showing up at the training complex. >> what was your purpose? >> to try to make him laugh and say, hey, i don't -- i just want to be a wrestler. >> now, montavo then told investigators he thought it was part of a reality tv show. his family says montavo suffers from mental illness such as bipolar disorder. we'll find out how this motion will play into things in a few hours. i'll keep you updated throughout the day on news 6 and on clickorlando.com. >> a wild scene there with that footage. thank you. the man police say sh shoot and killed one bethune-cookman

will not get out of jail any time soon. he was denied bond at his first appearance he got into a fight at an offcampus party. a football player was killed. his mother was in court court. >> he had a 5-month-old. he cherished her. now she has to live without him. i want justice for my son. he didn't deserve that. >> the other two shooting victims are expected to be ok. >> in seminole county, the suspect accused of shooting a man in the parking lot of a busy sanford gas station is set to face a judge today we were there as investigators roped off the 7-eleven yesterday. investigators say brandon pickens shot the victim but

other details about what led to the shooting. >> charged could come as early as today in the case of an elderly man who was found stabbed to death over the weekend. he was pound in his home saturday night. investigators calling his daughter 35-year-old tes si gresham and her boyfriend persons of interest both are currently in the orange county jail under a baker act hold for their own safety. detectives say they believe these two may have been involved in gresham's death. deputies are searching for the victim's car which has been missing since this past weekend. it is a 2006 beige ford taurus similar to this in the picture with a florida tag which reads skm3u. if you see it call crimeline at 1-800-423-tips. >> later today, hundreds of people will gather together in brevard county to remember a rockledge teacher who police say was killed by her husband. >> sandra cook was found dead earlier this month. investigators say her estranged

killed her and turned the gun on himself. he was a math teacher and a previous candidate for teacher of the year. today's public memorial will be held on merle road in rockledge. >> after days of detours and delays a busy road in maitland is supposed to reopen in a few minutes. we have been following this since friday when crews shut down southbound lanes of 17/92 between park avenue and monroe avenue. the road has been closed so crews could complete construction under that bridge. the detour caused huge backups. right now, the road is expected to reopen at 6:00 and traffic anchor amy is keeping a close watch to make sure that happens. we'll keep you updated. >> a lot of changes there. time to check in with troy bridges. >> a few changes with clouds rolling in. temperatures starting off cool. a nice warm up through the day. a lot of folks are off for presidents day if you are lucky enough to have the day off. not a bad afternoon.

the app handy. you can use it on your phone. instantly it will update you if there is a severe thunderstorm warning if there is a tornado warning you'll get the up update between 2:00 in the morning tomorrow and k in the morning when a lot of folks will be asleep, there will be the risk of severe weather. it won't be widespread but there will be a line of storms. the main threat will be heavy rain as well as stronger wind gusts, we'll watch that closely. we'll pinpoint the timing with the computer model data. we are seeing some discrepancy. look at the temperatures, cool to start. 48 in ocala. 50 in the villages. 51 in leesburg. we are at 55 in orlando. right now, 65 in cocoa beach. a range in temperatures. it is milder in brevard county. no need for a jacket there. the rest of central florida cool muff for a light jacket. you won't need it long.

pinpoint forecast right now. >> look at those temperatures, warming quickly through the day out of the 50's to 72 degrees by noon. we are all the way up to 78 degrees by 4:00 today with a 30% chance for a few afternoon showers. clouds in place. low level moisture in place. and then rain chances gradually increase ahead of a front. look at this tonight, 8:00 until 10:00, a 60% coverage. it looks like stronger storms will be later than that. the clouds and rain forecast, white indicating cloud cover. a lot of that across the board. not a lot of sunshine. the green here by 9:00 tonight, showing storms here and there. notice this line as early as 4:00 in the morning and continuing quickly to move off to eastern zones. there's 7:00 in the morning when a lot of people hitting the roads. this time can being change. we'll keep watching this every
