>> and i'm lisa bell. pinpoint radar show s the storms pushing through the panhandle right now. tom sorrells just got the news time line of when our area will probably get hit. and how strong the storms will be. the system is a very rough night for the folks in the panhandle. it already has been. the good news for us, some of the heavier is staying to the north there. here's what's going on in central florida. big nasty storms out here over the gulf stream. mercifully, they're all going north. our actions, they're rolling from the west. here's ocala. here's the villages. you see light rain crossing 41. getting ready to cross the 75 corridor. but this comes in overnight that we will all be awakened by heavy rain and rumbles of thunder. it's verifying very well. 2:01 down to ocala. that's when it'll be the heaviest.

morning, it'll be pouring rain and whipping the wind through downtown orlando. i'll be right back in a few minutes. we'll pinpoint for where you live and talk about an improving weather picture once this mess gets through. see you in a few minutes. >> thank you. now to the damage. shaun chaiyabhat continues our team coverage with a look at what's left so far. huge twisters spawned by these storms. >> yeah, as tom just mentioned, that storm system is likely going to head to our direction overnight. but it is already cost a lot of damage out west and the panhandle north of pensacola. we're talking about damage and injuries from david to said street. >> reporter: rescuers use their bare hands and formed a human chain to dig out a woman trapped in rubble. dozens of homes are reportedly

the impact, heart breaking. >> someone (indiscernible) going over. a powerful storm cell spawned tornados in florida panhandle. just one of the images continuing to pour in. several images taken show funnel clouds touching down. a handful of people hurt, and many more without homes. the winds twisted metal around trees. rain, and soaked homes left gutted and exposed. walls missing but furniture untouched. crews work through the night to search for victims. and daylight will bring a better picture of the full extent of the storm. late tonight, we are now hearing as many as 30 homes may have been damaged. but officials expect to get a betteral lee in the morning. mat? all right shaun chaiyabhat, live of course in the news room. stay ahead of the storm tonight

live radar weather warnings. it is all there. search wkmg. now to the mystery, a mom and her teenage daughter found dead at home. what happened is still unclear. their bodies were found this afternoon at a home on santa barbara roads in pine hills. just north of clone ya al. jennifer ortega is live. it is still an act i have scene. you talk ed to neighbors tonight. what are they telling you? well they tell me they have dealt with crime in the area before, but nothing like this. tonight they tell me they're locking their doors. >> i was scared. i didn't know what was going on. i wasn't home. and when i came home, i seen all these cops. >> se breen nah said she was greeted earlier today by detectives blocking off her street. after a 36-year-old mother and her 16-year-old daughter were found dead inside their home. >> my sister called me screaming at the phone, something happened, something happened. i was in the market crying to come home as fast as i can. the mother and teen lived in

they tell us the man left early this morning and when he came back around two thirty, he found them both dead inside the home and called 911. >> this is not a neighborhood that typically has this type of violent crime. we are working to confirm the identities and notify the next of kin. so that's about as specific as i can be at this time. we were here as the investigation continued into the night hours and the medical examiner arrived on scene. neighbors we spoke to now thinking about moving out. >> get an alarm or something. do something different. try to find a new house. detectives tell the investigation is still ongoing tonight. if you have any information or you heard or saw something, that could help this case. you're asked to call the sheriff's office. in pine hill, jennifer ortega news 6. all right, thank you. new tonight, a scare at oia after a plane ace engine caught

the airport says the silver air ways flight is on the gate. they saw flames coming out of the engine. nine passengers and three crew members on the plane. no one hurt. a silver spokesperson said the airlines will put them in the hotel for a night. and another flight in the morning. tonight the search for a missing boater intensifyings. the coast guard brought in an 87-foot boat and a six wing plane to try to find lloyd chamber land. he isn't been seen since setting off a fishing trip on sunday. his boat was later found along the shores. still no word on how a dump truck plunged 100-feet off i 95 tonight. incredible video out of miami. you can see the trucks split apart after slamming on to the road below, the driver was rushed to the hospital. several other cars were damaged but no one else was hurt. just in now, south carolina still appears to be donald trump

here's the impressive part of the storm, up north, watch the listening strikes. they trail off hee in the last hour, hour and a half. they approach this stuff right on the lands. you notice big time lightening strikes this. fade away. allot of the lightening has slowed down. heavy showers rolling down to tampa. those lightening strikes aren't losing their punch. but this particular band is starting to weaken. there no watches, no warnings for us tonight. but the strong storms that are out there are on the way. here's future radar between now and one in the morning. nothing. you have a good run through most of the night. if you have a weather radio, this is the night to keep it on. and keep your cell phone turned on in case any alerts come out. we'll be the first to let you know. right now, we're still very warm, 65 and the wind support is in the south. temperatures all across the area

65 in gainsvill. 66 in kissimmee. 66 in daytona beach. in the same cloud deck waiting on the rain. wind speeds, not too much of a difference there either. a 12 miles per hour in -- 13 in ocala. 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. rain is going to be the big deal. we are going to get the showers plus some lightening strikes going on there. and there's a possibility of straight line winds. wind gusts up to 40, maybe 45. maybe at the out reach at 55 miles per hour. but hailstones are there, maybe. tornados, very, very moderate risk of that. so it's not a widespread explosive set up for tonight. warm air is already funneled in and this is the watch box still going on up to the north of the panhandle. that line is weakening. and all this is significantly weaker than that one. so this is what it looks like as it aproofs. here's the break out on the way it's going to go

1 o'clock in the morning, there's not much happening. but by 230, 3 o'clock, it's into marion county. there's 2:00 a.m. ocala. back up to the northwest. by 4:00 a.m., the line approaches into western orange county. so between about say 4:10-415 in the morning is 5:00 a.m. is when the rain is most significant. if you hear the rain and you're freaked out, get up and turn the tv on. i'll be standing right here. 5:00 a.m. just about done. as we roll through the day tomorrow, the sunshine comes back and takes over. and the day actually turns out to be great. overnight lows tonight, 60s. i'm calling it 62 in orlando. here's tomorrow. okay, rough until about 7:30. by noon, 73. your daytime high 79 . then beautiful. wednesday, all the way through the weekend. tea sleep tight neighbors i'll see you tomorrow.

caught on camera, a dray mat ebbing end to a police chase. police say it started when a pick up truck fail ed to stop. the driver drove straight for an officer, pinning him against a patrol car. the truck veers off the road into the grass median, back on the road, and flips. the driver makes it out of the truck and makes a run for it. but police caught up to him. this happened last april. but idaho state police just release ed the video. the officer hurt his leg, but is okay. tonight grammy award winner had to bail on her performance. rihanna was scheduled to sing baa buh cancelled because of her health. her rep says she showed up to rehearsal today but her doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours. if she performed, the doctor said she could permanently

she was reportedly going to sing kiss me better from her new album. i wish they could have told us. but we could have filled in. . if diamonds are a girl's best friend. this one take s the cake. i wish my husband had known about this before valentine's day. it is a 400 caret diamond recently discovered in the african country of angola. the length of a credit card. it is virtually flawless. they said it is inentirely transparent and could be worth about $20 million. the discovery is the twenty-seventh largest diamond reported. hard to imagine there are 27 bigger than that. tomorrow, at 6 o'clock -- gene simmons out in california my buddy is going to get an opinion about your song. i gave it two thumbs up. dan ca patrick, i'm going to kiss and make up with you tomorrow. it's that's all i'm saying.
