something you'll only see on six. certainly a day these men will not forget. >> can you imagine it? you're on a perfect vacation. walking with your tour guide and the helicopter just drops out of the sky. with what this tour guide did next that was incredibly brave. he told us all about it. watch as a helicopter loses control. spiralling down and crashing near pearl harbor. >> i heard a nonengine out rotation where the main row tor spins and i saw people running. and i said that's a helicopter going in. >> reporter: you can see the propellers still spinning in the water. flipping the helicopter with a toy plane with five people inside. jacksonville florida native was taking orlando lawyer john morgan on a tour almost instinctually he ran to help. >> he took off his shirt and dove in the watter and started

>> we just took turns with a knife and i actually cut my finger trying to slice the seat belt. with help, he frees a 16-year-old boy trapped and hanging by a seat belt. >> i regret that we didn't get him out faster. it seemed like a long time. >> reporter: video taken just moments after shows people taken out on stretchers. gardener and the second hee re are shown resting after that daring rescue. >> something very catastrophic must have happened that he just couldn't extend the glide. he was too low. didn't have enough air speed. >> reporter: our news 6 hell cotter is similar to the one that crashed. 25-year-old veteran piloted bob said you have seconds to react in emergency situations. and if the pilot would have swayed just a few more feet into the rocks, it most certainly would have been deadly.

that 16-year-old, it took him three minutes to get him out. he's till still in the hospital with critical condition. the four others doing okay. get this t tour guide that helped save them also a florida surfing champ. a professional scuba diver. life guard trainer and he works with helicopters. he was definitely ready for a moment like this. lisa. >> some incredible video and an incredible rescue. sashell saunders thank you. you can watch our interview with morgan and his tour guide. we are posting it as well as the latest on this crash right on the home page. also, just in, a scare inside a parking garage at universal after a school bus crashes. universal told us tonight the bus was going up the wrong way inside one of the garages. it hit a concrete beam. 13 teams on the bus. eight taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the bus belonged to a private school. but universal didn't tell us which one.

new insight behind a high school scare. students locked down for hours finally sent home tonight. and telling us what happened in there. shaun chaiyabhat is live at st. cloud high school tonight. shaun, students told you they were not surprised this happened today, right? >> reporter: yeah, they really weren't. hay had been hearing about fights here all week long. some of them started calling this fight week on social media. >> the police department did their job. i feel safe to go in there. >> reporter: this dad brought his kids for a regional jazz contiguous just hours after it looked like this. for four hours, a massive police surrounded the school on lock down. parents lineed up waiting for word from their kids hold up inside hiding from an unknown threat. >> they were searching. they had -- they were -- inside i was really scared about coming because you know, i have family

>> i want to make parents aware that additional law enforcement officers are on campus today regarding a rumor on social media about a weapon possibly being brought to school. >> reporter: two vague threats in one day. >> it was a scary scene. cops with big guns and -- it was just frightening. >> reporter: it came after a week of fighting. nine in all. three fights on campus. one off. and three confrontations stopped by school officials. >> it's a lot of fighting that has been going on in the school all week. and umm, fortunately, they have shared it with me. so i've been aware of it. >> reporter: now, if there is any good news to come out of all of this, students and parents that we talk to thought that the school did a really good job of staying on top of all this throughout the week. mat? shaun chaiyabhat, live for us. thank you. ? just hours deputy wills return to these swampy woods where

a surveyor was spotted this afternoon. in daytona beach. they have not said who they may belong to. but plan to continue searching for clues first thing in the morning. tonight, donald trump is firing back against pope francis. the reaction comes after the pope suggested that trump is not christian for his comments on immigration. trump had this message during a town hall in south carolina. >> i think he said something hurricane watch softer than originally reported by the media. i think he heard one side of the story. which is probably by the mexican government. he didn't see the tremendous strain that you know, the border is causing us with respect to illegal immigration. other candidates trying to stay out of the way. ted cruz said he is not going to get in the middle of this. marco rubio who is catholic says the vatican and the u.s. have a right to control their borders. jeb bush who's also catholic said he only gets religious

one in four women will experience domestic violence at some point in their lives. it could be your mom, sister or

and tonight, survivors are telling us their lives are still in danger, because they are being left in the dark by those that are supposed to protect them. these women share their fears with investigator eryka washington and she took them to the top for answers. >> fighting get out, he was going to kill me. he wanted to kill me that night (we're calling these women suzy and abby to protect them. >> (indiscernible). >> reporter: now they're fighting a new battle. both state attorneys office left them in the dark on their abuser's cases. >> i feel like (inaudible). >> reporter: right now in orange county, there are only 22 victim advocates for thousands of cases. h four have over 400. three over 300. in 2013, community leaders including state attorney jeff ashton recommended more in his

in two years, ashton added one. >> do you think one is enough? >> no, i'd love to have ten. we were only able to add one, and i'm proud we were able to do that. >> reporter: he dismantled the domestic violence units. now under ashton, three attorneys handle misdemeanor cases. all felony are combined into the the special victims unit. that includes sex crimes, child abuse, and elderly abuse cases. >> if you combine them all together and don't allow someone to prioritize y, i can see how things could just get lost in the mass. and that's a shame and it's an embarrass ment for me as a career prosecutor. >> the benefit is we've been able to get more experienced prosecutors involved in the case.

working as well if not better than it did before. >> reporter: what are you basing that on. >> that's more anecdotal. i look at the trials that go through. >> reporter: but he says domestic violence cases are tough to prosecute because victims are scare ed to talk. those advocates are suppose ed to help those do that. and keep victims informed on everything. to court dates to no contact orders. >> we have a system in order where they will call and notify the victims to any changes in the case. >> reporter: but they say there is not enough communication. >> it's very frustrating. i'm so scared nothing will be done about this. >> reporter: she received misinformation. >> on the team. she told me he would n't at the house. (indiscernible) tuesday. i saw he was in jail. (indiscernible). >> reporter: states call us for abby show s the state attorney's

messages. but no one had spoken to abby again. from the state's attorney's office until early december until last week. >> what advice would you give to them and f you're calling and not getting return calls. >> let us know if our system is breaking down and not working for them. we will fix it and address it. >> reporter: action says he's pushing for more money for the state legislature, so they can hire more advocates. its support actions budget requests for additional advocates to help with domestic violence cases. but also says, however, even with the additional advocates requested, it will still barely begin to scratch the surface of the number of domestic violence cases that needs to be tried. and eryka, domestic violence is such a widespread problem. especially here in central florida. but there is something we can all do. >> i can tell you there is something you can do. reach out to your local legislatures to tell them how important this funding for more

orlando, from the north at seven in the villages. 14 miles per hour wind right now for everyone in daytona beach. and cocoa beach, easterlily flow at 14. here's the water vapor loop. let me explain what's going on here. the white stuff. a little bit of cloud cover for us. but not much. note all the big orange area here from memphis town to houston. all the way around to the gulf. that is dry air in and about 30,000-feet, it is gobbling up the moisture. working its way across the southeast. all of this dry air on the way. take a look at the real satellite and radar together. no rain offshores, i was talking about earlier. but notice this big hole right here. that's where all that dry air just was. there's no cloud cover approaching to the northwest. there's no system coming in. there's no dangerous change coming to us throughout the entire weekend. the only thing we have to look forward to tomorrow is the cloud
