it is happening at americana boulevard. mark lehman is at the scene. what else have you been able to find out about the drive accused in this. >> all this remains under investigation at this time. we just got an update from happened. they say it happened on this intersection off orange blossom trail. there were cars stopped when another drive came along. take a look at the extensive damage to this vehicle here on the scene. that is where one person died in this deadly hit and run accident. here's the video from when we first arrived. troopers say the crash happened after 3:00 a.m. four vehicles were involved. one person died and troopers say one of the drivers took off after the crash but that person didn't get far. we learned the vehicle and the driver are this custody of troopers. that driver right now is in the

injuries from this accident. as we come back here live, right now, all northbound lanes of orange blossom trail are shut down while this crash remains under investigation at this time. just one lane is getting by southbound on orange blossom trail. we'll stay here throughout the morning. i'm told the public information officer from fhp just arrived on the scene. we'll get an update in a couple of minutes. anything we learn new we'll keep you updated. >> we'll see you soon. this is impacting the roads right now. >> let's get the latest from amy with how to get around all that. amy? >> that is a well traveled area. one of those southbound lanes are passable. northbound lanes are not. what you might want to consider doing, consider taking john young parkway. if you are traveling that stretch, it looks like that could be closed. allow yourself extra travel time to get through that delay. it is going to be a good issue. stick with john young parkway.

>> this is happening along washington street in new smyrna beach. johnny fernandez is live at that scene. you just talked to police. what is the latest? >> what we know this morning is those two people that were transported to a hospital, no word -- police are focusing their investigation on washington street. they have the whole street blocked off as they try to piece this together. they tell me the reason it is blocked off, they have found blood on the street so they are still trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together. here's what we know so far. police tell me they got a call about this shooting around 2:50 this morning. they tell us they did find blood on washington street. right now, police continue to talk to witnesses and collect evidence to try to really help them understand what happened. we know police, they do believe

discovery was made last night along indian street. right now, investigators aren't saying how these people died. kirsten is is live in brevard county. neighbors are talking about the people who lived there. >> it is a tight knit neighborhood. neighbors are telling us they are sad to hear this news. they say this is the home where those people lived. it was a family with a young child who the neighbors used to see out here in the yard. overnight, the house was covered in crime tape. we have been pressing the morning. we did get a response from them but all they are saying right now is this is a death investigation. we found out from fire and rescue crews that two people were found inside this home. neighbors tell us it is a

>> we were just walking quietly. he went behind the counter and started shooting. >> i was terrified. it could have been me or my daughter. >> police say stevens was tracked down a few miles away. at last check one of the victims remains in critical condition. stevens was taken to the hospital. as soon as we gets out, he'll be transferred to jail. >> a huge detour for thousands of drivers in brevard county. it is not just a couple of hours we are talking about, it is for more than a month. starting later tonight crews will shut down a stretch of wickham from eau gallie boulevard to aurora road. the closure is being done so crews can improve drainage. the shutdown will last until april. drivers will have to do a four mile detour to get around that mess. city officials are warning people to be ready for a lot of extra traffic in the area and to leave plenty of extra time to get where you need to be. >> troy bridges is tracking some
