around 11:00 last night of shots being fired at the silver hills apartment complex in orlando. year- the parking lot. at this time there are no details on any suspects and the name of the victim has not been released. the investigation is ongoing. and more breaking news. this time in volusia county. the florida highway patrol is investigating a deadly car versus pedestrian crash. it happened at u.s. 1 near i- we' re told the driver did stay at the scene but right now the road is blocked. we are working to get more information and we' ll pass along the latest updates w once we know more. now to the race for the white house. with just two days until the primaries, the campaign trail is being overshadowed by donald trump' s increasingly controversial and violent rallies. meanwhile two of the contenders scored victories yesterday. ted cruz took the most delegates in wyoming and senator marco rubio won washington d.c..

>> reporter: police say the plane will still be out here until they finish investigating. it' s a bit dark but the plane field. one neighbor says he heard the plane coming down just before it crashed near his house. >> sitting out front here and it sounds like a car coming by. >> 2 people died just north of south lake hospital in clermont. when he heard the single engine plane come down near his house, he rushed over to help. >> i can see the guy laying out and i went up to him first and when i got closer i said he was gone. and so then i looked around and saw fuel dripping but there was no fire or flame or anything. >> reporter: investigators say they' re still working to find out where the plane took off from and where it was going. seeing how there are several

wells tells us he had no idea there were two people inside. >> i got a little emotional when i realized there were 2 and they were gone. >> the ntsb has taken over the investigation. >> fortunately there were no homes or injuries other than the 2 occupants of the plane crash. it is in close proximity to residents and very fortunate it didn' t explode and there was no fire or anything of that nature. >> reporter: and police just confirmed the names of the tw people inside the plane. pilot dane sheehan and passenger james coss. we' re told it' s still under investigation. jennifer ortega in clermont, news 6. >> justin: the search is on for the person investigators say killed a bicycle rider while trying to get away from police. the crash happened just before 11:00 on west colonial drive and lexington avenue just a block from i- 4. we' re told the trooper tried to make a traffic stop but the

not stop and eventually hit charles mcmurray throwing him off his bike. officers say mcmurray was in the turn lane when they found the car abandoned 30 minutes later but still looking for the driver. if you have any information, call the crime line. we have the latest on the man killed in a shooting in apopka. sean wear died after his girlfriend, shanita williams, shot him. it happened at a home on east 13th street. paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. they say williams cooperated and gave a statement. so far no arrests have been made. and a burger king employee this morning is accused of robbing his own restaurant. deputies say dwight lanfare was wearing a pacific when he forced his manager to empty the safe at the plaza. when they searched him they noticed the mask after searching him in the parking lot. he' s now facing robbery charges. central florida' s good

>> justin: this morning family and friends are mourning the loss a deputy killed in a wrong- way crash. the 6- year veteran died after a head- on collision on the expressway. around 3 a.m. hillsboro deputy

he was just finishing working a case as he rode along east on the salman expressway. the driver, 31- year- old eric macbeth was going the wrong direction and hit him head on. macbeth died at the scene. >> the signs are pretty clear. a huge one up there. big florescent sign. >> justin: just last year the deputy was recognized for rescuing a kitten from a storm drain. he also helped start a program to locate missing adults and children. now to alaska where this morning authorities say they' ve arrested a man accused of intentionally driving a snowmobile into 2 teams of mushers. this was near the front of the ididerod race. they arrested arnold demaski on suspicion of assault, reckless driving and 6 counts of criminal mischief. the 26- year- old has confessed to hitting the dog teams with

was drunk at this time and is now apologizing. the crash is under investigation. now to the recall alert for pet owners. purina issued a voluntary recall for a number of wet dog food products. they say quality tests showed some of their 10- ounce cans of wet dog food may not contain the recommended levels of added vitamins and minerals. this prompted the recall which includes beniful prepared meals, beniful chopped blends and savory meals. retailers are asked to remove the affected projects. those that want a refund or have any questions can call the number right there on the screen. new this morning one of florida' s top regulators is booted from his office space because of bat gaau, no. he' s the department of

possible storms involved in this because it' s so ripe out there it is going to act as a catalyst and give us a chance for showers just like summer. some popping up in lake city and moving off towards jacksonville and that' s really the story. the gulf of mexico is going to increase with shower this is afternoon and then move across the area and run into the sea breeze front over on the west side coming in off the water and off water fot a great boating day for the storms and pushing through after about 4:00 this afternoon. and that is when we start to see an intermingling with the frontal boundary, storms, collision, chance for some showers and maybe thunderstorms out of that. warm temperatures over the entire southeast united states. no big news there. heat and humidity with 70% for today. this is what it looks like.

gulf of mexico. and then by 4:00 nudging their way in trying to get closer and move into sumter county and maybe they dive farther to the south. they may actually bypass us but doesn' t mean central and south brevard county. you could have collisions pushing into the evening. as far as temperatures go today, hour by hour, we will be noontime 80 and 84 the top temperature and then throw in the 70% chance of rain. the temperatures for 86 in the villages and 84 in kissimee and 81 at cocoa beach. the night time temperatures drop into the 60s much like last night. some of that rain may linger into the early morning hours but here' s what' s going on. as we move into monday, we have the lingering 20% chance of rain. not really worried about that. and look by the time we get into next weekend we have another chance of rain. oh, did anybody mention oh, i have to take the change of clock. >> i'

zika has been linked to a birth defect that leaves newborned with abnormally small heads and developmental delays. and a new study finds physical activity does not impact breast density. exercise can help lower the risk of breast cancer but danish resevers found no link between breast density and physical activity. they say more study is needed to help to exercise and protect against breast cancer. those are some of the week' s top medical stories. omar, cbs news. >> justin: got to hand it to them. this stray dog knows a good hiding spot when he sees one. the phoenix officer came across the small pack of dogs running down the street he sounded the horn. the dogs quickly scurried off but one managed to hide in the patrol carriage of the patrol tahoe. he was stuck under the car for about 20 minutes and refused to come out. but with the help of the local animal control, the dog was rescued and thankfully no dogs
