already snowed-in, under winter weather and icy temperatures. and saved by a star. oscar winning actor jamie foxx jumped into action pulling a driver from a burning vehicle. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. sarah palin will join donald today. the onetime vice presidential candidate enthusiastically endorsed trump taking aim at the gop and president obama. this morning, the reaction to the endorsement is a reminder of just how polarizing the former alaska governor is. the right leaning "the washington post" is calling

palin's endorsement of donald trump trump. hillary clinton campaign is dismissing the latest report on her e-mails. some of her e-mails found at her home was higher security clearance than to the secret. some contained information on highly sensitive programs. the clinton campaign says these were not classified when they were sent or received. ben carson, temporarily, suspended his campaign after a volunteer died following a car accident. a van carrying three carson volunteers and a paid staffer in western iowa flipped on its side on an icy road and hit another vehicle yesterday morning. 25-year-old braydon joplin died yesterday afternoon. the others were treated at a nearby hospital. to international news now. at least 19 people were killed when a gunman opened fire at a university in pakistan this morning. heavy gunfire and explosions

located in northwest pakistan. classes had just begun. pakistani troops rushed to the scene and most students have been evacuated and police say at least four of the gunmen have been killed. so far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. michigan governor rick snyder accepted responsibility for the flint water crisis. contaminated water has put thousands of children at risk for potential brain dang from lead poisoning. said snyder, i let you down. some are pushing for on his resignation. omar villafranca reports. >> reporter: michigan governor rick snyder has apologized to flint residents about their poisoned water. >> i'm sorry and i will fix it. >> reporter: snyder said he will release all of his e-mails to the public on wednesday. >> you deserve accountability. >> reporter: flint's water trouble started in april 2014 when with the city left the detroit water system and drew water from the flint river to save money. despite assurances it was safe, residents complained about the

appearance. in september 2015, a group of doctors found dangerously high levels of lead in children's blood. the flint switched back to the other water in october but a pediatrician said the damage is done. >> there is no safe level of lead in a child, no. >> reporter: he says the state will pay for medical and behavioral treatment for affected children. he'll also deploy additional national guard troops to distributed bottled water and filters to every flint resident. concerned parents were anxious to hear the governor's plan. >> something needs to be done. you poison a whole community full of kid, you really tear up their future. >> reporter: corrosive water ruined flint's water pipes. even today, lead water flows through the taps.

bracing for what could be a major winter storm this weekend. heavy snow, some predict up to two feet, is a possibility from washington, d.c. to boston. another snowstorm made for slick roads and rough travel in kansas city yesterday. and the deep freeze that gripped much of the country froze a fountain in fayetteville, north carolina. meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz has more on the storm heading east. >> reporter: tracking the storm that came across the west coast on the day on tuesday and take a cross country trip and become a full fledged blizzard bied end of the week. maybe as far south as alabama and georgia with the snowfall. as it takes the corner deepens rapidly. extending through d.c. and new england into the start of the weekend.

slowly lumbers out to sea as we head through sunday. highest confidence in the big snow, talking over a foot of snowfall, around the philly area down through d.c. and to roanoke, much of virginia, west virginia and maybe even eastern kentucky with this one. a wider swath of snow outside of that. is not just the snow totals but talking about onshore winds and strong coastal winds at a full moon and high tide and that could big pockets of coastal flooding of what we might see in the summer and the fall. blizzards looking more likely along with major travel disruptions by the end of this week into the weekend. the massive search for 12 marines on board two helicopters that crashed off the coast of hawaii was suspended. the co life boats have been recovered and wreckage has been found on the sea floor.

down for six hours which was scary because the only social media outlets we had for six hours was a facebook, youtube, snapchat and instagram and vine. i thought of something very clever this morning and i was forced to share it with my wife. it was terrible. on the cbs "moneywatch" more on the twitter outage and backlash and sweet topping for mcdonald's french fries. hena daniels is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. twitter is up and running after sporadic outages kept users from the service. it affected users here and the europe. the company blames a programming errors. shares fell yesterday down 68% from their april high. the prices of u.s. crude oil

the pickup truck flipped several times across the road and sent a passenger somersaulting 65 feet in the air. the passenger somehow survived. doctors in pennsylvania resurvived a 26-year-old man who had frozen solid. justin smith fell unconscious while walking home in subzero temperatures nearly a year ago when his father found him 12 hours later, he wasn't breathing and he had no pulse. he was in a coma before regaining full consciousness months later. yesterday, smith returned to the hospital to thank the staff. jamie foxx helped pull a man from a burning truck but he says he's not a hero. brittany hopper from our los angeles station kcbs reports. >> reporter: an emotional father walks down the driveway with actor jamie foxx after thanking foxx for saving his son's life. >> he was here when he needed to be here and he was here for my son. as far as i'm concerned, he saved his life. >> you said that you were able?

we pulled him out. he has serious burns. >> reporter: the truck lost control, rolled several times, then burst into flames outside jamie foxx's house monday night. it was foxx who helped pull the young man to safety. >> your son is a fighter and when with he extends, he extends pulled him out. and as we pull him out, within goes up. >> he didn't have to do a thing. and, you know, liked earlier, i said earlier, we all hope to do something when the time is to act. do we act? >> reporter: fox has played a hero in his blockbuster movies yet he doesn't consider saving a man's life to heroic. >> i don't look at it as heroic. i just look at it as you had to do something and it all just worked out.
