troy copane inside to octavius did work in the paint today. they take a 25-5 lead early on. jacob evans to zach thomas who knocks down the 3. 17, 6 for 8 from the field. second half, copane had 9 and 6 today. only 8 points but the 9 assists are what counts in games like today. u criminal with the 3. bearcats roll 97-75, cronen with his 200th win. >> didn't even know survival, i guess. i've been around this a long time. and you real it's not about you when there are so many other things in coaching. , you know, i got a great staff and have had a lot of guys play here, had a tremendous amount of help so it's really not something i think about other
11:31 pm
>> zach taylor will take over as uc offensive coordinator and games takes over their offensive line and jim turner is in as uc running back coach he must recently overlook the offensive line. taylor spoke earlier today. >> got a chance to meet all the coaches when i was up here visiting, felt great about the relationships and there's high expect us it is as and that's what i wanted. we feel like we've got the standard.
11:32 pm
sports aututhoririty no problems for the mork commute, the right? >> absolutely none. i know that we have some delays but that's because of the snow that we had late last week. forecast shows 24 in cincinnati. 45 to finish. clouds moving in. >> i'm focusing on the warmth and the sports authority is
11:33 pm
all right, make it a g goo hey, everyone. welcome to the sports authority.

and cincinnati basketball. brad red ford will be here at the telestrater. brendon to break it down and we begin tonight with football. whatever subjective definition you use. today in the afc championship game for records holding and breaking qb for a number of supporting objective match-up of greatness. we start with the afc championship. patriots and broncos, the 17th match-up. daniels, the only player to catch a touchdown pass in denver this evening. 7-0 early on. brady smothered the entire game. derrick wu for the sack and game. the extra point turned out to be costly. we'll get back to that in just a few minutes. brady is drilled and darian
11:35 pm
it's 20-12 broncos. pats facing fourth and 6th. brady air it is out. rob gronkowski what a catch for the first down and seconds remain, brady, the gronk, and it is good. brady looking for edelman but it's a no go. this is a sweet day, a sweet victory. to me this victory is sort of a great example of what this entire season looks like. it hasn't been easy. it's been a lot of different people stepping up doing their parts, at different times. >> tough day. hard-fought football game.
11:36 pm
they played well all season. had good coverage, a good rush. there's a lot of plays we didn't make. so we ended up costing us and we've made a couple again. too many of those and we never could play with the lead or on our terms. >> and february 7th, not the 17th. and not only was it the first game of his career where he had a completion rate under 60%, but this is a crazy stat, tying the game at 7, steven made 5010 straight extra point extents. that means he hasn't missed since his rookie season back in 2006. the cardinals and the panthers for ohio state. buckeye gets the reverse and reverse himself. on the other side of the field,
11:37 pm
he's in for the touchdown. 10-0 panthers early on. made that little girl's day. 89 yards. coraly brown on the other end. brown also a former buckeye, ohio state. 17-0, carolina making look easy. second quarter, carson palmer, he's intercepted in the end zone. >> 42-tin panthers and the next time it kicks off. a little too much, hopefully he is okay. carolina will see the broncos in super bowl 50, the final 49-15. panthers' head coach ron rivera, a super bowl champion as a player headed back to the big game. >> i've had an opportunity to be a player and assistant coach, now head coach, i think it's
11:38 pm
i'm just kind of excited about the opportunity. i'm very excited for this organization, the team, the players' coaches. the general manager who's been tremendous in the last three seasons, has been a tremendous experience for me. >> three weeks from today on february 7th, super bowl 50, broncos at levy stadium in santa clara, california. you can see the game right here on local 12. and we want to you make the call now, they had our local 12 facebook page. will it be the bronx or the panthers? remember, go to our facebook page to vote. to the hoops court earlier this week. losing in double overtime, mistake crohnen said that half of his team has dealt with a lot more in life than losing a basketball game.
11:39 pm
going two for two this week. defeating memphis on thursday. today again you see shooting high percentages, former nba northern draft pick. and a nice move. run on the floor, the oops and 9 assists today. the 3 and a 29 point lead. ain't action. debury had 11 off the bench, 97-75, nick crohnen with his 200th win as head coach you see but a lot more needed to make the run. >> we're 5 and 3 and gotta look up at arizona and watch them
11:40 pm
their league. michigan state, 3 and 3. whoever plays better is gonna win. that's it. and that's really the kind of talks i'm trying to have with my seniors. you gotta play well. you don't get to play next year. you know, that extra intensity and impact in practice and stepping out on the excort so we're getting together, you know, when we have to. and up next, former xavier guard brad read ford is in studio to break down this week's
11:41 pm
don't go anywhere. at devry university's college of business, we're looking for the go-getters. so if you want to learn what's been business-world tested today,
11:42 pm
you're our kind of different. devry university's college of business.
11:43 pm
is the. don't forget, you get to make the call. we want to know what you think, who will be world championships two weeks from today? the broncos or the panthers? go to our facebook page to vote. we'll have results later in the
11:44 pm
>> adult color has been very big in the past year. we're going to test your coloring drawing skills. you see playing today, having a big win, not so much a big win but a dominant win over tulane. you know, we can play a little defense. take a look at octavius ellis here. he's looking at vision right now. ellis doesn't quite have the vision to get the basketball so will shoot it over but he gets the right position, hangs in the air and takes the contact and won. crucial situations this year last week there was talk about if he won, he showed people this week versus memphis that he can be that guy.
11:45 pm
win over memphis. >> he did. ellis is gonna slide up and go right into this ball screen. he dribbles up and will reject the screen right now. this is a little bit slow for memphis. he's gonna attack it, get to the ramp, doesn't pick up the charge. the end of the game that the coach is going to look for. >> and that's just confidence right there. that's playing with confidence, being able to create your own job -- the hoop going right at the defense. definitely not a team look over. and we're gonna look at jalen reynolds here for a second.
11:46 pm
the season that he's in or doing what you thought maybe dodd at this season. >> right. number 5 in the country and had the production this far, i wouldn't believe you at all. but he's been unbelievable, so consistent. we're gonna see the big fellow working in the post right here. as he gets the ball, all the eyes here from seton hall will take on par and they'll forget about him. he's gonna get the ball under the basket and gonna go up and finish. but jalen not getting as much time as you would expect right now. having a hard time staying on the floor with foul trouble. >> after last year there's even talk with be reynolds and nba. but he's averaging 20 minutes a game. so it's okay for now because
11:47 pm
he's giving them but then i look at a player like shawano mara, a sophomore, who is only averaging 9 minutes a game but yesterday went 4 for 4 from the field showing that he's where he needs to be and efficient when he's on the floor. >> and we're gonna see him right now doing a great job in the 1, 3, 1 zone. we'll take a look at the sophomore. he's playing two guys right now for seton hall. get a tip on the ball and xavier is off to the races. trayvon blew it and he's gonna go up for the easy finish to put xavier up 10 right there. >> and one last thought, coach mack, he talked about the kind of mental state this week. he said last season if he didn't score in the first half, he would have dumped the game. but as a former player, you
11:48 pm
mental aspect, i don't think people realize how big that is, being able to overcome the basketball diversity, i guess. >> yeah, getting more time and more minutes and xavier and i'm are paying the dividends right now. >> we want to take a look ated he be monday sumner. he was a player who got hurt a couple of weeks ago pretty bad. people didn't know when he would be back and kind of playing without a conscience right now. >> that was a scary moment when edmond went down. we're gonna start out with a hustle play here. jake is gonna get his hands on the ball, make a play on defense and miles davis once again with the the vision with the basketball. he's gonna see edmond near here. gonna get the ball in the corner. a rip to the baseline and you do not want to get this guy under the realm. he is a fun player to watch, one of the the top guards in the country. >> i was gonna say, so fun to watch, so smooth.
11:49 pm
thursday. so a big week for both of these teams. at this point in the season your thoughts on just being able to produce and being efficient. >> well, all games are important right now, xavier, they took care of business and now will go on the road to try to pick up victories. uc a big win against memphis and tulane. both teams in the middle of the conference season need to continue to improve on both sides of the ball. >> thank you for being here today. yes. two million, four hundrered thousand, fifty-ththree grains of sand. exactly two hours, for steak 'n shake's half-price happier hour. we'll never miss half-price, hand-dipped milkshakes again. but master, happier hour is from two to five now.
11:50 pm
they added an hour. ...two mill - great, i've lost count. p happy hour just got happier. p get half-priced winter shakes,r now from two to five.
11:51 pm
the. >> the panthers or broncos, will they come out on top in super bowl activity? >> so we're welcoming these two
11:52 pm
here, chad and rich, musketeer report. a lot to talk about this week. uc going 2 and 0, winning both games, xavier splitting their games week. i want to start with uc. mistake crohnen today was uc's win over tulane and got his 200th win as uc's head coach, and if you look at coach k with his first 10 years with duke, he only averaged three more wins a game. i know it was different times. you know, a long time ago, but that's a pretty big accomplishment in his first 10 years. >> and actually, if you go back and look, it's similar in that coach k, the first three or four years, had a lot of rebuilding to do, by today's standards, a lot of programs would have fired him with what he did in his first three years. so definitely a big accomplishment to get the 200 wins. halfway to bob huggens win with uc. >> right. moving on, earlier in the week they lost to georgetown and then getting the win later on in the
11:53 pm
a solid team but with the georgetown game, georgetown, they're a tough team, so i didn't think xavier played awful that game. georgetown just played really good, what do you any. the head. a lot of people are arguing. did you miss shots. they didn't control the things they can't control, taking care of the basketball, playing hard, playing good defense. xavier did all those things. best of all, they've played all year and kind of stinks for xavier that the loss came at home instead of on the road but at the end of the day, not a bad loss. >> definitely by far the best two-game stretch that they've had in quite a while and the tempo is back up. they're not grinding it out anymore, they're getting out and
11:54 pm
starting to see some of that urgency that the seniors need to play with for you to be successful. and i think that has been the missing ingredient, as i said last week. that's been the missing ingredient all along. now they're looking like a little bit of a different team. >> yeah, and you can't ignore the fact that former and number 1 draft kenya martin, former bearcat, has been on the sidelines this week. i want to get both of your opinions on this. would you like to see him? >> yeah dork it now. if he wants to come back, if he really -- and my take on this has always been-- college coach something very time-consuming. if i've got $100 million, i don't want to work 11 and a half months out of the year, i want to take vacation when i want to take vacation, which would be 11 and a half months out of the year. but if you really like -- like, if that's legitimately genuinely
11:55 pm
into college coaching, you hire him immediately. you could see -- like the practice in between memphis and tulsa. the kids respond to him. he's a -- you know, you could you see like when he sat down at the memphis game, everybody was looking over like, you can -- he's here. yeah, i'd hire him instantly. matter, seeing basketball throughout the year, when you have a guy that's that accomplished, sitting on the bench, being interactive with the players, how big of a make? well, everybody who watched him and loved him and the uc team and everything else, they're all dads with young kids that are now recruits. so i think he'd recruit really
11:56 pm
ful too much work not enough money. >> he has a lot in the bank. moving on here. they responded to seton hall who had knocking it off earlier this week as well. 24 points, 15 boards, for you, what was the biggest difference? was there a difference? i think they just got back to doing good. they made a you few more shots and james far, you mentioned him, one of the best performances we've seen by xavier players this year. two, what he's doing this whole season is incredible. him averaging 10 points, 9 rebounds. the just an incredible season. and numbers don't lie. that puts it into perspective.
11:57 pm
today, the only unbeaten team fell he smu, temple. i think with the parity thing, you mentioned no undefeated teams but looking from 1 to 15, it's so hard each week to sort through those teams and compare resume s because each team has two or three differents losses. it's going to be hard to sort this out when it comes tournament time. >> look recently the last week and a half, michigan state three-game winning street, duke three game losing streak. oklahoma lose to iowa state. there's 40 teams right now that are all as good as one another. and normally, you have three or four teams that have separated themselves and everybody chasing. right now, i mean, you might be throwing darts at the dart board trying to fill out your bracket, because it's completely unpredictable this year. >> it's a good thing that i'm
11:58 pm
do you know which one you're throwing, is the problem. >> yes. thanks so much for joining us. i'm trying to shake your hand. we'll be right back. ah, smell that air. yeah. smells good. really good. oh, hold on. i gotta stop. why? i gotta get home and wait for the cable company. k, but we just left your house. oh my gosh, great workout. no, this is your house! we at time warner cable need to apologize to you. we no longer offer an excuse to get out of your morning run. we're making a bunch of changes at time warner cable. now you can choose a one-hour arrival window, and our new tech tracker feature will alert you with a text or email with your technician's name and photo

falls 71-46. the loss of g town and the the win over seton hall. the hoyas sparking off the bench yesterday, had a career high of 24 points, after he blocks and steals and has done what it takes to be a complete player for x. >> the guy when he first came in was a decent rebounder, tied all of his offense to shooting jump shots and really just an average to below average defender to a guy that has extreme confidence on both ends of the floor, he relishes being a -- back to the basket type player. you can see the 3s that he shot a year ago, that he's shot now. it shows a complete 180 in his mentality and i think his play has been as good as any big guy in our conference. two weeks from tonight, super bowl 50 right here on local 12. you can catch all the action
