seven days until the broncos and panthers go head to head in super bowl 50. making a public debut and so did bersaki fans as the team made a trip to the bay area. teammates maybe toned down but enough about that. >> we gotta go out there and do our best and try to get a win. >> as you go through this, does it become surreal. i know you're focused on the next task at hand. have you stopped to think about what this lied been like this year? >> it's been fun. you gotta enjoy the process. i think if you worry too much
11:32 pm
lose focus of how much fun it is getting there. it's been a lot of fun this year and what better way to finish the year when you go out there and get a win. >> you do the things that nobody else has done. a couple of back to back quick picks in the play-offs, do you think about those charities. >> not really. you get there with groups of guys and our defensive line has played great and the guys in secondary play great and it makes my job easier. the a lot of the credit goes to those guys. kind of came right to me in the same kind of situation as last week. they're hitting them all and great pressure, and great pressure leads to the guys in the back making plays. a lot of credit to those guys and the coach for putting the team together that's so successful. >> no worries for you coming up? >> no worries, no worries. my dad will make sure it all
11:33 pm
>> this is the biggest day in all professional sports, the biggest night of any players or coach's professional career. the news observener raleigh, north carolina asked students from a local elementary school in charlotte about this panthers team. the team has fun and if you can have fun with what you're doing, you can have great success. a fifth-grader today that. and anderson high school grad, andrew norwell, part of the team's success. >> it's been crazy. we just came together as a team. i got four brothers on the o line and we're all playing together on the team. it's really fun. to go throughout and play with the guys on offense and cam leading the show, and it's good brown doing so well. and this has just been fun. it's a great experience. >> and you made the call tonight, we want to know who or what you'll be rooting for next sunday. norwell? peyton manning or somethings

what you're waiting for or a good halftime show. go to the local 12 facebook page to vote. over the summer, computerrer accepted the head coaching job at cincinnati university. but we had to talk super bowl and as far as the 89 bengals team that locked in this super bowl team with the 49ers and it may be one of the most date. >> that was a tough one for the city of cincinnati, number one, for us to get there twice and come up short on both of them and get the same thing, the for instance, and ironic it's in san francisco. so that's a little tallet salty fours right now, too. you but it's part of the game. we build off of relationships with players, we build off relationships with coaches and play this game because we love playing the game. not everybody's gonna be the champion. it's how you handle that. one more event we've been counting down. the pro bowl, right, well, that happened tonight and embraced by
11:35 pm
th a fun game so let's not make it not fun. just a recommendation i wrote on the seahawks' web site. if you're ever in hawaii go to ted's bakery on the north side of iowa hue. seven bengals took part in the game tonight. 16 of them on the same team. eli manning the former bearcat to kelsey five-year $46 million extension with the chiefs. second quarter, 21-17 irvin, chelsea, the defender. he's left alone and there was a was a score. doug martin with it now. geno atkins stacks him up to give each other a nice little pat. former louisville cardinal finds aj green after he schramm

. you make the call tonight. who or what will you be root for next sunday in will you be pulling for norwell, manning, hoping it's a good game or something else like commercials or a good halftime show. go to the local 12 facebook page to vote. hey, guys, our weekly visit from brad redford, former xavier shooting stand-out. he did other things too but he did shoot the ball pretty well. we'll go over xavier and cincinnati basketball from this week, getting wins on both hands. xavier 2 and 0, cincinnati 1 and 0. xavier a big road win at providence by 7 on tuesday. we'll check out some plays that were pretty important in that game. >> yeah, in the way that he attacked the offensive glass, edmond sumner with the shot from the top of the key but james bar
11:39 pm
right now they do a poor job of picking up. carington over here dunn over here. slow to the ball. trayvon blue gets it to the middle, and the big fella continued out here. getting the offensive rebound, what this guy has been able to do for xavier this year is >> fast-forwarding to the last four minutes of the game, xavier up 7, again, and another big play from a guy who we talked about last week that, you know, wasn't producing maybe as much as people thought in the unit season but told us to zip it, basically. >> well, reynolds wasn't doing enough. if they're gonna make a run, they need him, no doubt about that, we're going to see him make it happen right here. the guy's big, strong, he takes it here, gets a butt into him, gets him on the floor. goes up strong and going to go ahead and give us a little bit
11:40 pm
>> gotta show it off, right, sequence. i'm sure this happened looked when you played. coaches on the sidelines, whether you didn't see them, too much noise or just ignoring them. this play kind of unfolding maybe not the way the coach wanted it to so we're going to check it out. >> oh, yeah. mack is trying to call a time-out. sumner a little bit of trouble here at half court and looking for it. mckara does not want a time-out. but he wants to knock down a shot. if you're a providence defender right now, carington is doubling up with his partner. 21 for providence. has to get out. an emergency switch in a transition situation. but jake is not afraid of the big moment. knocks down a big 3-3 for his team to put them up 6 with just under a minute to go. also beat depaul no problem yesterday. got into their game, got into the rhythm.
11:41 pm
big win at uconn, a 1-point win thanks to one gary clark at the end of the game. down by 7 here in the second half and we'll look at the sequence and see how it plays out. >> yeah. copain comes up and what he does is draws ellison's defender to go ahead and guard him and sterling begins is on defense in no march's land right now. ellis loses the bottle but the defender, his eyes are on ellis. splitting over the 3 point line and knocks down the 3 pointer right here. great job moving without basketball. good job showing some patience over on the block. >> and the crowd wanted a double gerbil call. he stayed with the play and kept going because he didn't hear a whistle. cincinnati, down 2 here. 14 minutes to go in the game and
11:42 pm
defense and to help defense and it translated to some offense that tied the game up for them. >> and there's some bad defense at the beginning of the play but gary clark saves his buddy ellis over here. ellis is gonna slide over to the ball and this is defense. the guy goes right by him. gary clark is going to leave his man on the 3 point line, collects the ball, gets it up and it will go in for a transition shot. gary clark, two of the big reasons why uc was able to get the big win on the road. >> so your input on bracketology, x as the number 2 seed, this is crediting late in the season but what do you think about that? is that important at this point in the season? >> right now, they're in a position where they'll be number 1 or number 2 seed most likely. both those seems are playing at a high level on both sides of the ball. i'm really looking forward to the match-up here.
11:43 pm
11:44 pm
thanks for joining us, brad >> we wanted to know who or what you'll be rooting for next sunday. peyton manning just hoping it's a game or something else, maybe you're watching for the commercials or a good halftime show. go to the local 12 facebook page to vote. rick broring is here now. stay tuned. chad, rick, of course, we're talking about xavier, uc basketball. this week, both teams cleaning up, doing what they had to do,
11:45 pm
one over a top 10 team providence on the road and killing depaul on the road by 21. uc a big win at uconn. let's pick it up with uc because their game was a little further back. that was the game that they needed to win, and i know at this time the year, every day by day things are changing, whether you're in, whether you're out but that was a big time win for them. >> yeah, they really, really needed to get that w. and it was great to see. you knew -- you could have just set the 55-55 and put the clock on a minute because that's how uc and connecticut have been the past 14 meetings. they're 7 and 7. 7 wins each, and uc has the point advantage by 3 points. so a huge win. big step up by gary clark to get the inbound pass, take it to the rim, get fouled, convert the 3-point play, put them up and they were able to hold on to the 1-point victory.
11:46 pm
want to see with the big east fauxes, if you want to call them that, when they play each other, fun game. looking at xavier, they had their first top 10 win on the road in what, was it ever or in 1996. >> i don't want to talk about it. >> tell us about that. >> to beat cincinnati. it? no, i'd really rather not talk about it. and then you also have a big one over depaul, i talked earlier this the week when you see xavier starting out you really don't worry about them but looking over the win over providence, they just took care of business. >> yeah, and this is the first xavier team in a while and you look at any team across the country, they're usually a different team on the road.
11:47 pm
are when they go into the top 10 team's venue with a crazy crowd like providence had and they were able to pull off the win and played great. when you look at upside going forward and ways that they can played great this week, with confidence this week. and they've -- kind of had a slow start for the first half of the season. they could pick it up here and give xavier a lift. >> yeah, all those guys made big-time oh they were making to me nba type shots, turning around fade-away jumpers and looked like a top five team. what do you think new know, back in the top 5 this week? yeah, just looking at who's lost, i think they are going to move up a couple more spot again and be back around that 5 area probably in the ranking. i think the biggest thing -- you guys mentioned had you a big shot in the providence game. they're up by 3. providence is on a 7-0 run.
11:48 pm
for a time-out. jp gets that open look and that's how this team plays. they all 100% believe if i'm open, i'm making this shot and we're winning this game. >> when you have a coach there, when you look at chris mack's face, though, he was kind of okay with it. like he didn't make, it but he said, all right. >> i think it was recognition. he has built this culture of confidence. gives the guys a green light and fans get frustrated with that that these guys have so much confidence when they're shooting 3s but it paid off in that game. >> thomas, the not so bright spot, made a hustle play, left the game, didn't play the second
11:49 pm
second half. >> he had a bruise on his foot. >> a bruise and a sprain. could have been much, much worse from what i was hearing initially. there was a lot of fear that he was maybe going to be done for the season. he's listed day to day. i'm hearing two, three weeks, maybe four. luckily they have this week off and then they have south florida and memphis at memphis. so you'd like to hopefully have him back for that. probably not. that's gonna be a week and a half, you know, not quite two weeks from when the injury happens. pope hopefully the week after. >> south florida one of the teams that only won five games this season so hopefully. they're not at south florida 43-42. doesn't matter how good you see it or how bad south florida is. here it's usually a little bit of a different story. what this is gonna be about is
11:50 pm
put on his big boy pants. freshman year is over and thomas will have to step up and give you a guy that can give you 10, 12 point, will have to be aggressive and be a factor in that offense and there's no hiding anymore. >> no hiding. certainly st. johns wish they could go into hiding probably. sorry, was that bad. up next, chris mullens will go over the xavier program and he's just having -- i am sure he knew he was going to have a tough year, but xavier has him up next. what do they have to do to spay stay in this spot? i think the big win was let these three games, starting with the depaul game on saturday, are crucial. you have to take care of depaul on the road and take care of the next two games against st. john and marquette because they're not the top 2 of the big east, xavier has a really difficult road ahead but the fact that they won the game at providence has to make you confidence that they can maybe get out of here with only one or

>> a quarter you say you just want to see some good football. is thanks so much for logging on to our facebook page to vote. the fans weren't afraid to come out and talk about the moves that were made. even a 10-year-old got in on the action. so after it's all said and done, was there a different feel this year from the fan base than years past? >> some of the trades we made
11:53 pm
kind of a -- not necessarily rebuilding but kind of trying to realign this club and get it back in to contention. so i think people understood and we're happy with it. for the most part, the fans understand that we're transitioning into a different era and happy with it. >> that's the main thing about competing. i feel like if you can have all the guys, veteran guys same as the young guy to not win the world series, too. it's all about winning and competing and i feel like the team we have, everybody here will compete. >> all right, back on january 16th. ohio state and the coach was dealt his worst loss in 12 years with the buckeyes. osu got another crack of the now eighth ranking team in the nation. this time at home is as they've been doing. scratching your head just a little bit. 4 and a half.
11:54 pm
the steal and 1. osu up 5 after he makes the free throw. maryland coming back on the break. behind his back to trimble, lays it in. the game's tied up at 20. up to jake lehman. 35-31 making this game fun, and tremble to tuamman for the 3. and how about returning the favor. next week super bowl champs will be crowned. until then and afterwards too,

this doesn't prove anything. alicia: of course it doesn't prove anything, and yet, show that to a jury, and a million dollar suit turns into a $20 million one. and if i get it kicked as prejudicial? it's judge abernathy. you're representing a deep-pocketed, big bad internet company who treated its employees so poorly, three of them committed suicide in a month. this one in his own cubicle. what side do you think abernathy will be on? you've changed. i have. what happened to that cute little housewife that i used to know? when did she grow to be so tall? (laughs) you know, they say, you always kill the woman terrorists first. the male ones-- well, they hesitate. they fear death. not the women.
11:57 pm
i'll talk to my client. good. have you been well? i have. oh, i heard there was another turnover at lockhart/gardner. yes. it's a new day. a new, new day. sounds like you have one of those things every few months. do they miss me? oh, terribly, but then, every time we end up on the opposite side of a case from you, it eases the pain. oh, and your husband-- oh, i hear he's up by three points. he's doing quite well, thank you. playing the race card. oh, the suburbs, how they love their white politicians. you are going to become a very valuable commodity very soon. how's your daughter, mr. stern? every firm in the city is gonna come out of the woodwork trying to get their hooks into you. wife of the state's attorney, a practicing lawyer, and not bad to look at, either. have a number to me by 6:00. do nothing. say nothing. we are three points up with six days to go. the only way wendy scott-carr wins is if we mess up.
11:58 pm
what does everyone say? that's right. nothing. hello, petra. what a glorious day it is today. how are you? eli, you are so counting your chickens. why, whatever do you mean? i'm just sitting here, chatting with my favorite reporter. so, what do you think of the dcc suit? the dcc suit? i don't know. what should i think? did you have anything to do with it? i am the first one to call you, aren't i? no. what are we talking about here? the democratic committee has brought suit against wendy scott-carr, charging her with a lack of residency status. get the dcc now! so, are you party to this suit? are we party? no. in fact, we believe that any question of our opposition's residency is misguided. that's a... nice quote. can you get me another one from the candidate? what's your deadline? well, online edition in 20 minutes.
11:59 pm
what the hell were you thinking?! (choking) you stupid bastard! let go! we're up by three points! and we're helping! no! where did you go to school, you idiot?! of a bitch. you novice! wendy's husband's not a resident. out of illinois than in it. you gave her an issue! a reprieve! will invalidate her votes. no, they won't! a lower court will. like machine politics. as the enemy of the machine, and in one fell swoop, you make it clear that wendy is the enemy of the machine! well, what's done is done. no, it is not, because you're gonna drop this suit and apologize. say it came from some underling with an itchy trigger finger. too late. i already gave a quote. you know, i don't have many enemies in life. i get along with republicans,
