still snowing around 71 near red bank. i saw salt truck going north on 71. the visibility was very low. much better. we're seeing worsening road. we have a winter weather advisory in effect, tonight at 6:00, through wednesday morning. that includes the local 12 viewing area. that's because we are going to have travel issues in the next few days. as soon as the snow hits, we saw some problems. a lot of it is due to lower visibility in a hurry. that's going to be the main concern from tonight, wednesday, the changing conditions that we'll have to be on top of as you're travelling the next few days. we're tracking heavier bursts of snow. just east of wood lawn, near loveland, and then we have some rain mixing in through portions

most of it is snow through areas south of hillsborough. this is going to move through berriesville, heavier snow is right now. we still have a lot of snow through brown county to adams county with some wet flakes. you saw the big flakes. if you look out the window, it's the big flakes. we're not as cold as where you would see the fine flakes. still, some flakes flying, and heavier snow in jericho. and we're seeing snow shower activity and franklin, fayette and union county, scattered snow showers that is also a little heavy at times. good news, road temperatures remains above 32. heavier snow showers, piling up in the road in a hurry. the bad news, tonight, the road temperatures do fall below freezing. right now, most above 32 degrees.

michael workman, charged with rape and gross sexual imposition involving a 13-year-old boy. after his arraignment, we were talking to his grandmother. wen't did talk to her on camera to conceal the victim's identity. she says she's outraged on what happened as she is afraid there could very well be more victims. the claremont county prosecutor's office, it is looking into the case. it's still an ongoing investigation investigation. more coming up on local 12 news at 5:00. larry davis, local 12 news. >> workman is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on these charges coming on thursday. a woman accused of hitting a child and driving away finally makes its first court appearance. police arrested ruby this weekend. she didn't show up friday for the original court date. officers say she hit london smith last week. smith was in a crosswalk near

pregnancy is a time of grereat >> tough time for firefighters. the fire sparked in a home in palmetto street, about 8:00 this morning. the first crews on the scene had to call an extra fire company. two people were in the house when the blaze started. the house filled with smoke. one of the people living there managed to run upstairs and get his mother out to safety. the red cross is helping that family tonight. and police arrest a man

madison connecticut this afternoon. a section is closed because of the crash. at least ten ambulances responded. no word if the northeast snow storm played a role in the crash. >> blizzard -type conditions, across iowa's, driven by wind gusts nearly 50 miles an hour. we have numerous crashes reported on interstate 35 and highway 20 as well, as you could see, visibility is very, very difficult. i know they are talking about the snow in new hampshire as well for the caucus coming up. >> the bad weather follows that. >> we hear, just looking at very light accumulations in the next three days. today, tomorrow and wednesday. it's going to cause a lot of havoc. especially the lower snow. lot of it is from lower visibilities.

temperatures above freezing. the snow will be -- accumulating, but the roads are long enough. this evening, if you have friends, families, in the they usually do. it looks a lot better near deerfield road along 71, before i couldn't even see out of the camera. the visibilities have improved dramatically. take a look at the size. the snow accumulated on the grassy areas, but not on the road. that's good news. the roads are just wet there. we'll continue to watch, kind of dry conditions in cincinnati, from the ss travel clouds.

and noor south side ind. it's kind of two. as it dugs in -- and impact is slick and snowy roads. and travel disruption. the area will be pretty much the entire tri-state and entire local viewing area. the showers, snow showers will be very random in nature. so some areas will see light snow. some areas will see heavy snow and it will be like two different worlds, like we're seeing today. that will carry tuesday through wednesday. everybody above, 32 degrees, reading near 40 in fayetteville, we picked up an inch of snow already this morning. we'll continue to watch the numbers slowly fall into the lower 30s. expect the diminishing road conditions or deteriorating road conditions.

we'll be tracking snow showers throughout the evening commute, throughout 7:00, 8:00, we'll be kind of bad with heavier snow showers as well much and then through the overnight period, i'll be tracking snow showers on and off. tuesday morning, watch for slick and snowy roads. i know the model doesn't look too great. in the evening, commute, we're looking at heavy bans of snow moving through the area. tuesday afternoon, we'll have to watch the areas of lower visibility in a hurry. tomorrow, we start off. and if we get colder on wednesday, i think the cold will be a bigger story. >> a "it"'s going to feel more

the evening. roads will be cold enough. the snow will start to stick. i know we did see some of the snow, stick on some area roadways. when it came down very hard and very heavily. i am tracking heavier snow in the oxford area. this is the live shot, weather camera, looking kind of eastward in the oxford area. this will continue to move east and we have snow in liberty indiana and big flakes falling in lebanon. and some are weighing in. snow from warren county and a lot of big flakes. we have a lot of moisture in the

pretty much wet. 6:00. snowy conditions with more snow showers tonight and overnight. tuesday morning, we're looking at snow. we'll have to be prepared for changing conditions. that's what we're dealing with the next several hours in the tri-state. we still have overcast conditions, if you look at it flying. two people walking about are wet. we'll continue to watch the heavier bursts of snow, through a handful of areas. the light blue, indicates heavier snow. and the dark blue indicates some rain mixing in or some sleet. around pleasant down to goshan, this is heavy snow. this will lower visibilities half a mile or less. it will continue to move, clip

this is moving towards blanchester. this is moving through heavy snow within the next 15 minutes to 25 minutes. we have snow through wilmington and up towards and mainville, we're watching some moderate snow showers at times. heavy snow near berriesville, south highland county, looking at heavier snow. lower visibilities in portland. heavy snow in -- and knoxville, dry ridge and williamstown. more snow in ripley and dearborn counties. and liberty and most of frapping lynne county. looking at heavier snow shower activity. we will continue to watch the snow within the next 40 minutes.

precipitation looking through downtown very shortly. you could see this is a huge system. we'll continue to watch chances for snow showers tonight, tomorrow and even into wednesday. the weather concern for the next couple of days, it will be the rapidly changing conditions, like we saw today. a lot of you were fine. other areas saw quickly lower visibility. the snow did accumulate for a short amount of time in the roadways, but melted. we have some snow that accumulated in the grassy areas. it looks like two different worlds, if you head to portions of northern kentucky and here in oxford, not much at all in the grassy areas. we're looking at changing conditions, especially as we get to later in the evening and through the day tomorrow and lower visibility as we're travelling out and about, will slow down some traffic. we're above 32 degrees. 36, hamilton. same for lebanon. 38 in hillsborough. 38 in mazeville.

and carrollton. lower to mid 30s. tonight, i expect temperatures to slowly drop through the 30s. we'll be in the lower 30s by 9:00 in cincinnati. the roads will start to catch up to the 33 mark. it's going to happen, the slick roads will continue to transition throughout the evening. especially out for the evening commute. watch for slick spots. especially at home. . we'll take you to the next 34-48 hours. here's 7:00. we're going to be tracking some snow, which will be heavy at times. any rain mixing with the snow showers right now, will fully transition to plain old snow. .
