range with a .357 magnum. rescue crews were called off to a home at about 5:30 p.m. yesterday. the boy was pronounced dead before he could be taken to the hospital. now we're waiting to hear from the county prosecutor about any potential charges related to the case. fish fries on fridays during lent are pretty much a guarantee catholic churches across the tri-state but one was interrupted last night by an explosion. brad underwood went to st. barber church tonight to find out what happened. >> on the back side of the property is where the property occurred on the other side of the fence is where the frying took place for the fish fry. this is one of the two 100-pound propane tanks used during those fish fries mple. there's damage to almost every side of the fence. when people came to the 4:30 p.m. mass, this was the topic of conversation between almost everyone in this parish. as hundreds of parishioners came back to st. barber church the

of the blaze remains. a charred fence line, melted plastics, and food still sitting in fry baskets. >> could have been a lot worse. they're very blessed. >> father john sterling is talking about the three men injured in the fire. this photo was sent to local 12 after the explosion. an independence fire captain says there was a hole in the hoses connecting the tanks to the fryer, and with the amount of food being cooked and continued grease falling on the hose, the combustion was indisputable. >> fortunately we found out that the last one would probably be released from university hospital this afternoon and they all only have first and second degree burns at this point, which is a lot better than we expected. >> father sterling knows the strength of his parish family and the strength of their faith. they'll get through this, and they'll rebuild the shelter. >> very volunteer-based parish, so of course everyone who was working here volunteers, but everyone pitch in and takes care of everyone else.

>> in kenton county, brad underwood, local 12 news. >> and father john sterling says as of right now next week's fish fry at st. barbara is on as scheduled. a man is dead after a fiery crash now cincinnati police are trying to figure out what happened, officers were called to west ward northern boulevard about 5:00 a.m. this morning. police say a car was coming up the hill when it crossed the median and went into the woods. the car then burst into flames and police say the man couldn't get out. the 21 year old was pronounced dead. a neighbor says she called 911. >> i heard the engine and looked out my window and all i see is the back lights inside of the trees over there. within seconds of dialing 911, someone got in a car accident, i looked back out my window and the car was engulfed in flames. it's hard to look at someone basically burning in front of you. >> police are still looking into

what caused the driver to lose control at this time. the victim's name hasn't been released. police are investigating a shooting after a man was wounded in the shoulder and grazed in the head, in mount - - officers were called to curby avenue near coal rain just before 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. a man in his 20s was shot behind a nearby shopping center, and then ran to the front where he collapsed near the food mart. that's where police found him. he was taken to the hospital. his injuries are not life-threatening. kentucky state police are investigating after officers hot and seriously wounded a suspect. a officer were called to a field and shepherdsville, south of louisville, where they say a man was believed to be suicidal was with a gun the officer say after several minutes of negotiations the suspect pointed his weapon at them and they fired at home. and new tonight, a police officer in virginia is dead following a shooting, a total o three officers were wounded in prince county.

among young people, a suicide u wearness and prevention seminar was held this afternoon in avondale at the church of the living god. changes for troops and project cease fire hosted the event called taking off the mask. it included mental health specialists and grief counselors. money raised during a gala tonight will pay for the wish of one child in the tri-state. kyle megaalumni association hosted its annual just wish for a gala tonight downtown. it's in partnership with make a wish ohio, kentucky, and indiana. the gala included food, drinks, a silent auction and raffle. the goal was to raise more than 10,000-dollars. now is a busy time for brides planning their summer weddings and in honor of black history month, a beautiful black bride expo and fashion show was held center. it was organized to celebrate diversity and beauty and raise awareness about black-owned businesses in the tri-state. the expo show cased what the businesses have to offer for bride scz there were lots of

deals and discounts. a selfie of a police deputy and his k9 captured the internet's heart this week. getting a hug from his beloved partner. reporter ricky mitchell met the law enforcement duo and brings tus us this story from tuscan, arizona. >> it's pretty obvious that manson loves his partner, deputy chase garrett. that love perfectly captured in a single selfie. >> he likes to give hugs. he's a hugging dog. most of the time if we're just sitting there, he'll plop his head on my shoulder and sit there like that. >> deputy garrett says he took the photo a couple of months ago during a narcotics investigation. manson is a 5 year old chocolate lab trained as a specialized detection k9. he is used to find evidence specific to narcotics investigations. the two have worked together for

clouds increase during the afternoon. as i mentioned a moment ago we're windy but we're also warmer tomorrow. showers return tomorrow evening. batesville's down to 39,bb's at 44, george town at 43, wind chill for most in the upper 30s to around 40. wind chill will run a couple of degrees at least below the air temperature overnight. we'll take 44 down cincinnati only 44-degrees overnight low. highs tomorrow will center in the low to mid-60s. that's the end of the road for temperatures in the 60s, at least for the foreseeable future. we have some clouds getting pumped out f it the great lakes. little to no cloud cover means no precipitation to track on precision doppler 12hd from adams county all the way up to fayette union and franklin county. notice the lines of equal pressure here on the forecast model. tightly packed that's an indication that the wind will be up tomorrow. relatively strong area of high pressure down to the south, keeps us dry tomorrow morning, but it's close enough to this

area of low pressure to allow wind speeds to quickly ramp up tomorrow morning. the wind will still be up tomorrow morning, with clouds rapidly increasing, and showers developing. any lingering showers we have for the first half will quickly move out to the second half of the commute, then will a gradual clearing on monday, but clouds are quick to return monday evening, and early tuesday, rain and isolated thunderstorm will develop on tuesday. more signs of spring in the first half of the forecast, but winter will return eventually. 40 the forecast overnight low in cincinnati lt tomorrow, 58 at lunch time, 65 and windy by 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon. when you tune in to local 12 news tomorrow night t will still be warm. clouds will be rapidly increasing. showers will move in late tomorrow evening. so about 24 hours from now, at least in most tri-state communities, perhaps to the north west, west of cincinnati a bit earlier.
