aggravated robbery and ago -- aggravated murder. engel's daughter and son spoke emotionally in court today about how their father's life was taken for $400 and described how he was beaten 15 times. we'll have more ahead today beginning first at 4:00. >> also breaking today firefighters working to put out a fire in fairfield. it started about 10:45 this morning. it started as a gas leak, but there's no word on any injuries break. >> crews are also on the scene of a serious crash. one person was injected from this crash in westchester about 10:00 this morning. there were reports of three people trapped and local 12 is working to learn more and will have the latest for you on this as soon as it is available to us. >> campbell county middle school

officials say a student made verbal threats. all of the students and staff are safe and they have been moved to campbell county high school. a bomb squad searched the school and did not find anything. this happened just before 10:00 last night on the bridge near kellogg avenue. the 41-year-old man who died in the crash has not yet been identified. the driver who police say caused the crash is in the hospital. speed and impairment are factors in the crash. local 12 is investigating after a woman dies in a fall in a nature sanctuary. she slipped and fell over the weekend. she reported fell close to 50 feet. it appears that firefighters used ropes to get down on to the cliff to reach her body. the fire firefighters tried to

a dive team was brought in to retrieve her body. she was a 2012 graduate of notre dame high school. would go to learn more about stewart and we'll have the latest for you ahead today on local 12 news beginning first at 4:00. crews have hauled away a car that slammed into a poll after it was involved in a police chase. that accident caused a gas leak and wires down in the road. duke energy was on the scene for the repairs there. two people in the car were taken to westchester medical center okay. tyler jeffreys owns a grocery store in the area and he got a wake-up call that his burglary alarm was going off. >> i guess somebody jumped the train track and hit the telephone pole and ended up several hundred feet down the road. >> a police officer said that he noticed suspicious activity at redding and hawk before following the car around 4:00

candidates are addressing >> we want to update you now on a local breaking news that we're following. adam clements was in court this morning. he joins us now right now with more on the days emotional hearing. good afternoon, adam. >> good afternoon. >> it was very emotional inside the courtroom. things wrapped up just within the last 10 minutes. here is what we can tell you in terms of the murder of carl engel. the mastermind james kirby, he agreed to plea deal that will put him in prison for 37 years. 10 of those for trying to escape
