7:22 am
@will have the opportunity to @pull in, i think, more cloud @cover later on this afternoon. @grab your sunglasses when you @head out this morning. @temperatures are on the chilly @side. @and we have working with us now @a southerly wind. @it's going to be brisk later on @as we dial up the winds. @so across some of our western @county, we will see this wind @advisory. @and that goes until later on @tonight. @so temperatures aren't too bad. @mainly into the 40s for most. @still holding on to some of @those middle range, pushing the @upper 30s for many off toward @the east. @but overall, a nice finish to @this wonderful weekend. @i am tracking more temperatures @or warmer temperatures this @afternoon. @more fierce winds as we get @progressively through the day. @and then, rain and snow reenter @our extended forecast. @so for today, be prepared for @that sunshine and temperatures @out of the 40s and into the 50s @by the lunch hour. @and then later on this @afternoon, i think many places @will have opportunities to see @these temperatures push on up @toward that 60-degree mark.
7:23 am
@lower 60s threshold by the time @we get to the afternoon. @we could see temperatures as @high as 26 degrees by later on @today -- as 62 degrees later on @today. @and we will see the opportunity @for the winds to ramp up. @and that will be the big @concern, even going into @tonight, seeing gusts near 40 @miles per hour. @and temperatures tonight, not @too chilly, we will stay above @freezing. @and let me take you hour-by- @hour with our futureview. @by 6:00 this even, not too bad. @we pull in the clouds late @tonight. @10:00 till midnight. @that's when we will see the @showers push through. @passing us quickly and the @temperatures are warming up so @none will be snow. @temperatures drop as we get @into the monday forecast. @we will take clouds and @sunshine as well but we could @see scattered snow showers @along the lake side late in the @day. @overall though, today's concern @will definitely be the winds @gusting near 25 miles per hour.
7:24 am
@nation seven-day forecast keeps @thing fairly reasonable with @40s for monday. @and by tuesday, tracking a drop @in temperatures on voting day. @and once we get into wednesday, @we will lock in the winter @pattern. @>> all right, olga. @thank you. @ one in six people in ohio @struggle to put food on the @table. @that's why programs like the @harvest for hunger campaign are @so important. @and joining us this morning to @discuss the campaign is karen @from the greater cleveland food @bank. @karen, thank you so much for @being with us this morning. @>> good morning. @>> i think anybody is going to @recognize, i don't know if we @have the shot, but the coupons @that you see at the checkout in @the grocery store. @talk to us about the campaign @and how people can help first @of all. @>> sure. @harvest for hunger kicks off @every spring. @this program with check out @hunger, one of the easiest ways @for folks to give. @starting today, they'll be at @the checkouts throughout @northeast ohio.

@alyssa raymond is back with us @now. @maybe the spiedy senses were @throwing off the mic. @>> reporter: i decided to take @the mask off to see if it works @better. @if you did not hear me, this is @danny. @he is a comic writer. @worked for marvel for 20 years. @how did you get into something @like this? @>> you know, i just happened to @live in new york and i had been @a life-long comic fan and i @went to marvel and got an entry- @level assistant job and i moved @through the ranks. @and ended up writing and @editing a lot of things. @the xmen also. @but a lot, being in the right @place at the right time. @>> reporter: what is your @involvement with wizard world @today? @>> i work with wizard. @i travel to all their shows @because i know nerve the @business. @i put together panels, @interviews with artists and @writers and demonstrations for @kids.
7:47 am
@panel about how to make comics @with -- i have tom and fred who @are artists and writers and @they'll show kids how to do it. @and at 3:00, there's a panel @about cleveland and comics. @so we're going to cover jerry @and joe who created superman. @and i got some really smart @people and we're going to be @cleveland. @>> reporter: amazing. @thank you so much. @3:00. @10:00. @and they close for the last @time in cleveland until @possibly next year, 4:00 today. @back to you in the studio. @>> all right. @alyssa, you've had a lot of @fun. @i'm sure a lot of people will @too. @thank you. @ all right, another big @story today is of course the @weather. @people have been looking @forward to this day all week @because we are going to see @temperatures near that 60- @degree mark. @>> yeah, when you see it way @off in the seven-day forecast, @you say hurry up sunday, we are @finally here. @mild morning temperatures so
7:48 am
@out in the next hour or two, @fairly comfortable. @we are already pushing through @the lower 40s. @and we will hit middle 50s by @noon and keep going from there. @we have to thank the winds for @that. @gusting later on today which is @why we have a wind advisory @which goes until about 10:00 @tonight. @winds right now are mainly out @of the south and the southwest. @about 15 miles per hour on @average. @but we're going to watch the @sustained winds bump up later @on in the day. @so it will feel a little bit @brisk if you're just stepping @out. @although it's 36 in worcester, @feeling like 29. @so we're deal thing with a @little bit of wind chill @through much of the morning. @plenty of sunshine. @hopkins airport checking in at @14 degrees right now. @and we're going to keep our @humidity fairly reasonable as @we head into the afternoon @hours. @and then we will ramp up the @clouds later on today. @weekend finish, not a bad one, @windy and warmer into the @afternoon and definitely @tracking rain into the forecast @tonight and some of that may
7:49 am
@snow in our extended forecast @later on this week. @so for today, you need to be @prepared for a pretty brisk @start but push through the 40s @and into the 50s by mid-day and @top out around 60 degrees @around the 5:00 hour. @i think many locations might @even see lower 60s by late in @the day with the scattered @clouds and ramping up the winds @but keep in mind, we will see @gusts near 40 miles per hour @later on today. @so feeling brisk. @hour-by-hour, clouds stay away @for most of the evening till @overnight tonight, between @10:00 and midnight. @and we will watch the rain move @on through. @and moves out before your @morning rush. @could be some wet pavement but @at least not the rain falling. @as we move into the forecast @for your tuesday, mainly in the @morning, temperatures are near @the freezing mark so we could @see a few light snow flurries @as well. @sunshine for today with the @warming the temperatures but @again, the winds will be the @biggest story of the day @weather-wise. @overall, the window nation @seven-day forecast stays on @the mild side.
7:50 am
@we're still in the 40s. @by tuesday, we're watching a @drop in the temperatures. @we will take it back down into @the 30s and the chillies with @the snow chance for thursday. @>> all right, olga, thank you @so much. @ coming up, we have a final @look at the forecast. @also, we will talk about the @home and flower show going on

@ @ if you are looking to @purchase a hoverboard, you @won't find one on amazon.com. @the website has quietly pulled @hoverboards from its website. @it comes days after the @consumer product safety @commission deemed all @hoverboards unsafe saying they @pose an unreasonable risk of @fire if they don't voluntarily @meet safety standards. @target and toys r us have also @removed them from their @websites. @ the akron home and flower @show runs through 5:00 p.m. @joe is there live this morning

@>> reporter: you got it. @i will send you tulips right @there. @see what i did? @we're here inside the building @and it's amazing because we go @inside the building inside a @garden. @and i want to introduce you to @an amazing landscaper, jacob. @>> how are you? @>> reporter: doing quick. @tall details on the gardens @that you can come and see today @and how you can get here. @but trends, because you have @been doing this for a while. @>> yes, outdoor living. @and home show is not just about @home remodeling anymore, it's @about your life style and ideas @and inspiration and outdoor @living is a big part of that. @>> reporter: and these @kitchens, check this out. @i thought this was only for the @richie rich but not -- @>> no, it's something most folk @cans do. @>> reporter: and what is coming @back too are swimming pools. @>> swimming pools are rising @again. @it wasn't that long ago where @they were frowned upon but more @and more folks are realizing, @it's about quality of life.
7:55 am
@pools. @you can have a pool this size. @>> we have what we call a @california dip pool. @just a place to jump in, cool @a nice atmosphere. @>> reporter: right, very, very @cool. @so we're here inside this @garden. @with it. @but there's over how many @>> over 190 exhibitors. @today. @to be snowing again. @i know we have a nice day @today. @if you want to smell some fresh @flowers and get some good @ideas, come to downtown akron @today until 5:00. @>> 11:00 to 5:00 today. @ideas. @>> there you go. @>> reporter: back to you. @>> that's what i need and i @thanks, joe. @very fun. @ and yeah, i'm going to be @one of those people looking at @start? @i can't believe it's the end of @garden. @>> yeah, home project,
7:56 am
@and at least doing something. @you today. @you will need the sunglasses, @afternoon. @we will pull in some cloud @cover but temperatures will hit @the 60-degree mark for many of @us before dropping back into @the 30s tonight. @and then tomorrow could see @some rain early in the morning. @i think it's dry for your @commute. @but by the time we move into @the tuesday time frame, we have @that front coming in. @and temperatures are definitely @going to drop right back into @the 20s. @ouch. @>> yeah. @the daffodils, the tulips, @they're all confused. @i'm sure you see them coming @up, nope, stop growing. @we are going to take a quick @break and we will be back here @at 9:00 a.m. @we're going to head to the @"today" show in the meantime. @and you can check out wkyc.com @for all the latest in news, @weather and sports. @thank you so much for being up
