normal drive times. >> thank you. we have live team coverage on the storm damage and clean up underway. greg is in cleveland heights where some have gone days without power. >> let's start with tiffany live in lakewood. we learned power isn't expected to be back on until after 10:00 tonight. >> reporter: lena and john, in some parts of lakewood, quick check of the website restored before 10:30. we're here, driving, trying to give you better advantage point of all damage. we're on sloan in lakewood. you can see crews have this area roped off. that is because there's still an active wire here. that's how they're working to try and keep people safe as well as working to restore the power here. last night we had video around the website of businesses without power.

on detroit too. pretty tough for business being without power. you can't do anything at that point. not only that, but we've seen trees down, lanes down this morning. last night there were pretty huge trees in that west side area, rocky river bay village as well. we heard some witnesses describe that moment when they say lightning struck. >> first a flash of and series of blue lights after that. >> heard a crash and tree fell on the street. >> you were right there seconds before. >> seconds. i'm still freak out -- freaking out a little. >> reporter: good news is no one was injured. that's the good thing. we've been driving around lakewood showing you issues.

>> all right tiffany. thank you so much. some in cleveland heights are waking up without power again today. >> last check more than a thousand homes and businesses still in the dark. greg joins us live with when power might be restored. how's it looking? >> it's been a long week for folk in cleveland heights. storms came through tuesday night to wednesday morning. some folks still don't have power. here's the reason why. take a look cleveland heights now off south taylor. not only did it completely cover the yard, it took out the fence. behind me, the garage is deep in there. it is crushed. that took down power lines is a big issue. that's why folks don't have power. that's probably until 12:30 at the earliest. that's what we're hearing from

out here this morning. there were storms last night. some of you sent in amazing pictures. we take the weather vehicle on the road this morning to cleveland. images like this from 185th street on east side of cleveland from donna. take a look at this formation here in the upper part of this storm. huge area of very heavy rain, lots of rain with this storm. that wall cloud which produced a lot there are going to be additional showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon. as those storms move in, there could be additional opportunities for strong gusty winds and lots of lightning and thunder as well. holly will be tracking that forecast throughout the morning. for folks here in cleveland height, before storms get get here, another hot afternoon. many are still without air

downpours. 82 at 9:00 this morning. going to heat up fast. 87 at lunch. low 90s easily today. we ended up hitting 94 at hopkins yesterday. over the next 12 hours we'll start off uneventful. hazy sunshine will translate to showers this afternoon. the best opportunity, no question, will be mid to late afternoon then into this evening. we take a across the region, it is very humid. this is all feeding up from the south. we're really feeling like residents along the gulf or from very typical. it's dry. we don't have rain going on now. as you wake up, know there are no showers or thunderstorms to worry about on your commute. these dew points, humidity has been so impressive this week. 70 plus.
