on their way. video surfaced which contradicts the swimmers' original story. they say they vandalized a store and they paid $50 for the damaged. other athletes say they're focused on the games. others say, it can't be avoided. >> team usa is supposed to be full of pride. it's the biggest honor can think of to wear usa across your chest and compete. and to have somebody make up a blatant lie about something, that's pretty shameful. >> coming up at 6:50, we'll let you know what else the u.s. olympic committee is saying about this incident and the possible charges these swimmers face. >> thank you. browns 0-2 in the preseason. the stat is not what you care about most in the preseason. it's how the team looks. how they play, and the areas

concerned about the defense. tough start. the falcons go 71 yards and score on their opening drive. the browns give up 498 yards. falcons had the ball for about 40 minutes. rg3 showed improvement from week one. airing it out to pryor there. the browns lose the game 24-13, but if you're looking for positives, the offense is making some strides. they will preseason game number 3 next friday night at tampa. another investigation of hazing is under way. this one involving the football team at lake catholic high school. a police report indicates the incident occurred july 11th at a football camp at john carroll university. it lists two victims and five suspects. the police will not release any more details, the diocese says they've taken corrective action

to class. school security is a big concern. one study found a 158% jump in the number of shooting and bomb threats against u.s. schools compared to the year before. about a third of the threat -- threats were made on social media. ohio had the highest number of threats last year, including schools in strongville, euclid, and east lake. a police officer accused of striki h the face is now on administrative duty. cell phone video captured her arrest. it shows her spitting at officers. that's when an officer allegedly strug the woman. the other struck the woman. the other officers are on leave. they're still trying to figure out what happened. take a look at these photos from medina county.

amazing sunrise happening. it's 6:41 today. wow. it's going to be a stunner. so it's starting to feel humid again. we have the sunshine to start. we're tracking scattered late day thunderstorms. a big cooldown that finally pushes through later this weekend. it's going to change things up a bit. 74 at 9:00. 82 at 5:00. scattered rain possible toward dinner time and even into the afternoon. you will notice our stretch over the next sunshine, and scattered storms as well. so our computer forecast is picking up on all of that. but it's quiet right now as you're waking up, getting the kids together for school. maybe it's still summer break and you're thinking about the pool today, just the backups, eyes to the sky. i do think we'll end up seeing some scattered wet weather later on. whether the front in is still far to the west. for our weekend weather we're tracking this cold front that's going to make a huge difference in the way we feel.

we've had a lot of ohio athletes. last night, no different. we're getting to the end of this thing. we have buckeye nation loud and proud down here in rio. the elyria native, she hit the track last night for her third event in these olympics and fresh off her gold medal in the long jump the night before. she's looking to repeat in the 400-meter relay after taking over the top four years ago. they came in with the fastest time on the night. they will be looking to keep the fastest time tonight. the semifinals and men's 1500- meter after qualifying earlier in the week. the three-time olympic competitor placed 7th in the team finals. the time is good enough to move on on saturday. now, stacy lewis, what a day for her yesterday, started
