heavy rain overnight. nothing severe. this morning, people that live in other parts of ohio and indiana will be cleaning up after powerful storms. tiffany is here now with a closer look at the damage. tiffany? >> we've been getting a better look of that damage thanks to social media. all morning we've been showing you this video posted on youtube. this is from defiance county the next county over we're also getting new video into newsroom. let's show you that and give you a better look up close. this is paulding county. this is the same storm that rolled through indiana before making its way here. a dozen were injured. eight tornadoes reported near coke moe, indiana, 40 miles north of indianapolis.

it's caused police assistant and recovery mission. >> good morning to you. >> instead of arresting their way out of the problem, the police departments are trying to help addicts get clean. >> they can go to one of the two police stations and ask for help. they won't be arrested or charged. the program will be sta officer last year. the bera and ohmstead township are first two communities to offer it. lodi was the first community to adopt the program. the ten programs are statewide. if accepted into the program, addicts will take recovery and rehabilitation facilities for 28 programs. there's no cost for the community to attend. this is the thing police

their community going in the right direction. >> thanks jasmine. later today, governor kasich will join leaders from nine neighbors states to talk about the epidemic. he'll speak at a summit in since since for more than 60 overdoses are reported in the past two days. summit is aimed at improving cooperation across state borders and battling drug abuse from prescriptionai ohio is among the five states with highest number of overdose deaths in 2014. canton police are investigating after a violent day yesterday. two separate shootings happened less than two miles from each other. two were shot near canton's east side. police say it happened around 7:30 p.m. no word or any details on those injuries. meanwhile, earlier in the day, a young mother was shot driving south on i-77.

highway for several hours during the rush hour commute. she was struck in the hand and grazed in the head. her gyres were not life -- her injuries were not life threatening. police do not believe these were related no. arrests made in either case. an akron man will spend time behind bars for making his own fireworks. akron police responded to his home for domestic incidents. while questions him, they discovered over a thousand homemade fireworks. the bomb squad was called in to help secure the scene. one of the victims convicted of throwing chunks of concrete will be released from prison. the 19-year-old and three other teen boys hit the vehicle char ron and her husband were driving in causing brain trauma to bud the judge says mcgee met the

bud has undergone numerous surgeries since attack in 2014. the man who shot and killed canton police canine jethro will spend time behind bars. he pleaded guilty to two cases. he originally pleaded not guilty to all charges. he shot the german shepherd several times during a robbery earlier this rise in italy after the devastating earthquake on tuesday. at least 247 people have been killed. hundreds more injured in the quake which struck central italy about 4:00 in the morning their time. one of the hardest hit towns was in central italy. exhausted search parties are looking for people and bodies

. keyless cars that start with a push of a button are a target for thieves. since vehicles with this feature don't require a key, some may get out of their car without turning the engine off. someone lurking nearby can drive off with the vehicle running. gas stations are a hot spot for these. drivers are encouraged to turn it off even if exiting for a short time. for the second year in a row, summer months prove to be led i did. now the council is warning people this labor day could be one of the most dangerous. maureen kyle explains why. >> in first six months, 19,000 were killed in car crashes.
