. and welcome back. you are looking at the innerbelt bridge this morning, and boy, it's going to be opening later on this weekend, on sunday, but there will be traffic troubles to go along with it today. we'll let you know more about that just a bit. time now 8:31. let's get a check of the weather. that's what we want to know about. i say take a light jacket out this morning. >> i was going to say if you're doing running this morning, it looks decent other than the cloud cover that you're seeing and a few spots actually waking up sow to some mist and drizzle. temperature-wise, upper 50s in youngstown and for our friends in ashtabula. i was up there yesterday, it is so

colors, that's a highlight to check out. mid-60s in downtown, lake water temperatures in the 70s. dry right now, but again, as we said before, along the lakeshore mist and drizzle. those water droplets are so tiny that radar can't pick that up. allergy report looks like this, tree, grass, and weeds allergens low. cloudy through the morning, becoming partly sunny later on this afternoon. that sunshine helping to warm temperatures into the low to mid-70s for highs today. a far cry from where we were yesterday when we were literally within two degrees of 90 on your friday. a big cooldown is coming up next

thursday, overnight lows possibly falling into the upper 40s, low 50s. >> as i said before, it's not these temperatures, it's what's coming after. so cold. so cold. >> very true. >> thank you, michael. a security officer throws a man through a window -- excuse me, let me start over. a man is said to have thrown a security officer through a window. it happened at the panini's downtown on east 9th street and that's where we alista ramond who is live with more. >> reporter: good morning. this is the window witnesses say the police officer got pushed through. then the man ran across the street toward play house square but he didn't get very far. >> get on the ground! get on the ground! stop resisting! stop resisting! >> reporter: cleveland police arrested this man on the spot.

man and a woman started fighting. the woman punched the man in the face. and then a man pushed the officer through the window. this cop working security at panini's last night was an off-duty cleveland police officer. the broken glass cut him so they took him to the hospital. they told everyone to get home early. panini's closed early, shortly before right around midnight. and so far we haven't had a name of this guy that is accused of doing this or what charges. now, you can s window is boarded up. they were working on doing this, this morning. they still have caution tape in there as well and they're still sweeping up because with this big panel of glass there was tons of broken glass everywhere. alyssa ramond, channel 3 news. this weekend the second innerbelt bridge will open with much fanfare. can you see the bridge behind

an upclose look at the bridge. >> reporter: after six years and more than $500 million, this is what you get: part two of the innerbelt bridge ready to open for us this weekend. hitting the road and enjoying hopefully smoother traffic. putting grooves in the pavement, check. labels for all the poles, check. and more paint for the railing, check. these are some of the final touches going on for odot's largest project. the innerbelt bridge. >> a lot of people are excited we're finally at this point. >> reporter: the old innerbelt bridge was demolished to make away for this newly constructed one, part of a $570 million project. the two bridges will have five lanes of traffic each. for now, just two eastbound lanes will be open. >> two lanes eastbound, for a few weeks, as we work to unravel the alternate route, get 490 back to the way it used to

downtown. >> reporter: today crews were putting final touches on the entrance ramp on west 14th street and installing new guardrails. all lanes and ramps should be open by the end of october allowing traffic to move smoother in the process. >> everyone has worked well with us and we've worked well with them. and this has been a successful project. >> reporter: a successful project that we're all happy to see coming to answered. . >> and thousands of racers are running the streets of akron r for the first energy akron marathon. it takes you through some of the city's historic neighborhoods. this brings folks from around the world to akron. here with all the races we'll have 20,000 people participate so it's very gratifying. our sponsors are great. it's just a great day for akron. >> and if you don't plan to run, a health and fitness expo are be going for this

kansas. tigers win big, three home runs. they win 8-3 and remain 7 back of the indians. take a look at the magic number and it goes from four down to three. the tigers' win means it doesn't fall to two. the indians cannot clinch today in game two against the white sox but still a chance for it to happen on sunday. see if they can get it done. let's see if the browns can get it done tomorrow in take on the dolphins. miami a 9.5 point favorite. the browns need point and they need to have players. they are dealing with injury after injury. they have five out on the injury report, two are questionable, including hayden. it's going to be interested to see kesler goes against the miami defense.

they have a fierce front line. >> i think a lot of that is due to how well their back four play. their safety do get after the ball and they hold up well in coverage and their front seven get after the quarterback. and that's something for me to have to read and make the change and do things to help myself. ohio state with a bye today but that's not the story for state. the golden flashes are in tuscaloosa. alabama, both are 1-2. kent state is an underdog and hopes to be overlooked at noon today. >> i think as a coach you worry about these games on that side of it more than -- you know they're going to get up for ole miss, you know you're going to get up for auburn. these are the ones you worry about because you're trying to as a coach to

. rebron james continues to score deals in hollywood. spring hill entertainment which he founded with maverick carter has scored a deal with nbc on a new comedy series set here in cleveland. the project titled "there goes the neighborhood" will be coproduced by lebron. no word yet on when it's going to start. an actor tom hanks returns to his acting roots upcoming fundraiser for the greater cleveland film commission. he started his professional acting career at what is now the great lakes theatre back in the 1970s. the fundraiser called behind the camera will feature hanks in a 90 minute interview and discussion with our own russ mitchell.

well. winds, notice if you've been watching us all morning long, the winds are picking up. not between the 5 and 10 mile per hour mark but now between the 10 and 15 mile per hour mark and we'll see winds of upwards of 20 miles per hour. on the lake it may be a more rough go. some areas of mist and drizzle to get your morning started. further towards our south it's a cold front that swept on through, ohio. that's one of the reasons we're tracking more of that cloud cover overhead as we speak with a few isolated areas of mist and drizzle. i think if you really want the rainfall you have to wait a couple of days. monday, this area of low pressure with that cold front attached to it, begins to move into northeast ohio and as it does so it brings with us the scattered showers and the thunderstorms. so let's time everything out for

morning is where we're tracking just some areas of fog, mist, and drizzle. further inland we're relatively dry and that's the way we stay through lunchtime and points after. as we mentioned before, i think after lunchtime between the 3 and 6 p.m. number that's when you notice the clouds begin to break, the sun begin to come up, and it's going to be a beautiful, beautiful afternoon and evening in store for us, first thing tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon, looking equally as nice. forecast for today, temperatures low to mid-70s for highs, we're windy on top of that. overnight lows in the low to mid-50s. window nation seven-day forecast, 70s today tomorrow and monday, tuesday i think we struggle to make it to that 70 degree reading. being optimistic about t we might hit it on the dot, and then we slip and fall into the 60s for highs on wednesday, and

generous, going with low 50s. i think some of us will be in the upper 40s. first full week of fall, it will feel like it after making it within two degrees of 90 yesterday. >> yeah. people are looking forward to this, though. >> this is very true. great open window weather for sure. a grave group of northern ohio cyclists will take a cross country adjourny this weekend. this bucket list ride is the most challenging they've done covering 3,000 miles in ten days. but they say the goal is the same it's always been: beat cancer. >> baam is bike across america. >> reporter: a journey of more than 3,000 miles. >> we're trying to get 340 miles done a day. and be done after about nine days. >> reporter: ten top cyclists from across northeast ohio are ready to bike across america starting sunday. >> riding across the country is
