thank you so much. we want to get you caught up on breaking news. a 20-year-old man pictured here has been arrested in the shooting at a washington state mall that killed five people. the shooting happened late friday night outside seattle. investigators say at first he walked into the mall without a weapon and then left. but then he came back 10 minutes late we are a rifle and opened fire. sources say it is increasingly likely that it s attack. it was another tense night in charlotte. protesters poured into the core of the city for a fourth straight night following the police-involved shooting death of keith scott. this comes after police released new video and details from the shooting. jay gray has the latest from nbc. >> reporter: hundreds of protesters back in the streets

after police release new images and information. >> in the spirit of transparency, we're going to get everything that we can deliver the. >> reporter: including dash and body cam video of the deadly confrontation between charlotte police and keith scott. the police chief says it's not the entire video but does contain all of the images relevant to the shooting and adds the new footage will not answer all of the questions in the case. >> there is no definitive visual evidence th gun in his hand. you can see something in the hand. and that he pointed it at an officer. >> reporter: and police are sharing details from their investigation, pictures of marijuana, an ankle holster and loaded gun recovered at the scene and say lab results indicate scott's fingerprints and dna were on the weapon. the chief says one officer fired the fatal shots and all

hi everyone. good morning. we start with the indians this morning. it could be a special day at progressive field as they finish up their three-game series with the white sox. the final home game of the season for the indians. and now that magic number moved on last night and they can clinch the central today but their four-game winning streak ca home against the white sox. and it really was an ugly loss in front after a big crowd at progressive field. cody anderson got the start, two runs in the 1st inning. pitched two innings. wasn't the plan to go more than that. but the indians were in a 2-0 hole early. and the game was lost in the first two innings. based loaded in the 1st and then again in the 2nd here with no outs and they only got one run.

crisp thrown at 2nd. all sox from there. last saturday the bullpen was unreal and the win over detroit last night, it was not. just crushes that ball. his 93rd homer of the year. 4-1 sox. they win 8-1. and the tribe now 90-64. what a game in detroit today. yesterday, hopefully a great game again today. it was amazing. almost two four hours. the tigers lead the royals orlando over the head there. two-run double to tie the game at 4-4. two the batters later, clubs this one to right. a three-run homer to give kansas city a 7-4 lead. it's a five-run 9th inning as the royals win by that score and the tigers remain i-75 back of the indians. so to the magic number machine and we move from three down to two. thanks to tiger's loss.

welcome back. we are just one day away from the first presidential debate and both candidates are preparing for a battle. chuck todd joins us now to preview the event. good morning, chuck. >> good morning, maureen. >> going to be a big day tomorrow. what do you think both candidates need to accomplish tomorrow night? what are we watching for? >> look, you can simplify it to one letter, they both have t words that they have to deal with. for donald trump, it's temperament, the hillary rodham clinton campaign has portraying

advertisements as unfit for the job because he will go off the reservation and attack anybody, anywhere at any time. so if that person, you know, that's the person that she's hoping shows up and that's the person that donald trump has to prevent from showing up. and only he can prevent that part of his personalty from popping up on stage. we will see. and i think we have some questions about can he go toe to toe with her on policy. hillary rodham clinton her issues with the public have do with trustworthiness. the other t word here. and it's a different threshold she has to meet. there are voters that believe she's more prepared for the job, more competent for the job but can they trust her? what can she do to reassure or re-establish the opportunity to rebuild trust with voter? so those are the two challenges they have in front of them. and i think it's difficult for both of them. >> and what about the tough

kind of questions will be thrown their way. do you see any coming? >> oh, i think there's going to be a lot and particularly between the candidates themselves. not just from the moderator. and remember, what makes this debate different and i think more of a challenge for trump is the fact that there aren't time limits on answers. during the primary debates, there was 60 seconds or 90 seconds, six, seven, sometimes 10 other candidates on stage. and he would only have to speak for four or five mis, two-hour debate, he spoke for 24 minutes. that's not the case. there's no bells. no time limits that prevent him from talking. and that i think is something he's never experienced before and how he handles that is going to be interesting. >> all right, who do you have on the show this morning? >> well, talking to people in the debate prep sessions with both of them. doing the national security prepping.

hi everyone. good morning. we start with the indians this morning. it could be a special day at progressive field as they finish up their three-game series with the white sox. the final home game of the season for the indians. and now the magic number moved on last night and they can clinch the central today but their four-game winning streak came to an end last night at home against the white sox. and it really was an ugly loss in front of a big crowd at progressive field.

inning. wasn't the plan to go more than two innings but the indians were in a 2-0 holier and the game was lost in the first two innings. based loaded in the 1 ands the 2nd here with no outs. and they only got one run. davis with the rbi single but thrown out at 2nd. and a 2-1 game after two. all sox from there. last saturday the bullpen was unreal and n the win over detroit. last night, it was t. 4-1 sox. they beat the indians 8-1. and the tribe now 90-64. what a game in detroit today. yesterday, hopefully a great game again today. it was amazing. almost two four hours, the tigers lead the royals 4-1 inth. two outs, orlando over the head of mayben. two batters later, clubs this one to right.

kansas city a 7-4 lead. the it's a five-run 9th inning as the royals win by that score. and the tigers remain seven back of the indians. so we go to the magic number machine. and we move from three down to two. thanks to the tiger's loss. if the indians had won last night, they would just need to win today but at two, the indians only clinch today with a win and the tiger's loss, the number moves to if the tigers win and the indians lose, it stays at two. got all that? you got room for the browns? it is sunday and they are back on the field today in miami to take on the dolphins and the browns have a new kicker after placing murray on the ir yesterday with a knee injury. they signed cody parky yesterday, now in his third nfl season. in 2014 with the eagles, he was a pro bowl selection. last year he struggled.
